  1. Think I know where this threads heading . Normally every November on here, not January...
  2. Leeds, Celtic, Rangers, I thought it was the Dingles we ‘hated’...
  3. Quarter final and replay, and thankfully that clown shoe had gone. Was in the dying days of Appleton. We spent two games hoofing the ball to Danny Shitu’s head...
  4. A Booby Mimms special in there...
  5. Reading the LT piece about Nuttall and commenter in chief Beetlejuice is blaming a lack of fan patience for BB’s poor form, then goes on to ask ‘are we not the 12th man?’ Can anyone point out an occasion where he hasn’t been supported at games? Or is it internet/real life confusion again?
  6. Strange you rarely got close to filling your ground before this season then...
  7. If creating this ‘no one likes us’ routine helps you as fans create a siege mentality, good luck to you. But honestly, most fans couldn’t care less about you, just like they couldn’t care less about all the other ‘also ran’ clubs with fine histories and traditions you keep belittling. You’re not special, just another club, but luckily a club situated in a big city with a big catchment area.
  8. Because it’s a song to sing! Do you honestly think fans across England really HATE, DESPISE etc. a club that’s been rattling around the second and third division for 15 years?
  9. I’m a proud Brit too, but seeing folk from the West/central belt of Scotland and Belfast wave Union Jacks around at Ibrox doesn’t give me any interest in Rangers or a ‘soft spot’ for them. ’Aye, Rangers are me second team’
  10. ‘Despised’? By who? Don’t give them even more of an ego, apart from that ‘Dirty Leeds’ nickname that goes back donkeys years, I don’t know anyone that gives a shite about them either way.
  11. Not really Rev. Lot of similarities in going from a very stable situation to the opposite. Totally different environment at a relegated Stoke with a lot of high earning, under achieving egos from a club like Luton that’s spent years in lower and non league.
  12. Coleman had just got Wales to the semi finals of the European Championships.
  13. Words mean nowt. Sure Chris Coleman came out with something similar... next news it was a Netflix documentary.
  14. Wasn’t it in the Coca Cola Cup?
  15. Always makes me cringe when I see east Lancs folk with no connection to Scotland calling the Old Firm (usually Rangers) their ‘second club’.
  16. Expected to have close to a 1,000 there. Fantastic following for a down south Sky game just after Christmas and our 4th away game in two weeks. We wouldn’t have had close to that a few years ago...
  17. Two more winding up petitions have been raised. Not sure how much longer Anderson can keep spinning these plates...
  18. You mean the 'buy early discount'?
  19. Fair enough! Sounds a good gig.
  20. It’s odd though. They would have realised many years ago that Todd Kane won’t ever make it at their level, so why hoard players of that ilk for so long? Unless the loan fees themselves are lucrative? Yet, using Palmer as an example, they still pay most of the wages.
  21. Exactly, so that’s why I’d be interested to hear Waggott’s rationale.
  22. Aye, Bolton I think it was.
  23. No Stu, I think it doesn’t really matter if a few hundred from Ipswich, QPR etc are downstairs. But followings of say 3000+ to 6000, the kind of followings that really could help the away team should fill the upper first, with the overspill downstairs, instead of massed ranks in the lower. But what actually happens is, the few hundred go upstairs, the larger 2000 to 5000 followings start in the lower, chipping away at said home advantage - seems the wrong way round to me.
  24. All a bit of a dogs dinner! Has Waggott explained to the FF why small followings go upstairs? And why large ones that could actually spur on the opposition don’t start in the upper too?
  25. It will be Sky’s fault. They were ‘The Entertainers’ remember! They even used to have a ‘Newcastle Goal of the Month’, think that was shown on Goals on Sunday. Used to drive me Dad absolutely crackers!
