  1. Spot on chaddy, don’t forget WINNING cricket too. Stokes record speaks for itself: Ten wins in 12 as captain, famous victories over New Zealand, India, South Africa and Pakistan, all through a style of play in his image, underlined Stokes' worth as a captain. The individuals and the team have not just mimicked his approach to cricket but also his approach to all of them.
  2. You’ve got to give the Aussies credit for snatching that game away from England in the manner they did. Cummins and Lyon were superb at the end under tremendous pressure at a sold out Edgbaston. The public can’t get enough of this current England side, tickets are like gold dust, can’t wait for Lords!
  3. They say with age comes wisdom, what absolute tripe! Great test, England lost this in the field shelving 5 golden chances to take Aussie wickets. Cummings knock was superb, credit where credits due. Can’t wait for the next test.
  4. Absolutely enthralling, theatre, test match cricket at its best and after 5 days it could go either way. Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
  5. Can't see us starting on time today, its raining heavily at the moment, but when we do, in overcast conditions, we should be swinging this duke ball round corners. Tighten up in the field, we gave to many fours away yesterday, get Khawaja early and we win the first test, weather permitting. Come on England.
  6. He couldn’t have moved further away had he tried, I wonder if a woman scorned is involved.
  7. Great theatre, outstanding by Broad.
  8. Matt Parkinson leaving Lancs and joining Kent at end of year.
  9. Money always talks in the end matt83..... I don't know any poor professional golfers, certainly not at the level you talk about above. If you have £50m in your bank whats the difference between £50m and £100m? You and your family are all made for life and living a life of luxury on £50m, its just greed in my opinion, ruining sport across the world.
  10. A little unfair @AllRoverAsia, the conditions were perfect for Cummins and Boland at that point with movement due to overcast conditions, but nonetheless they're out and we need to battle back today as you say, in what looks like much favourable conditions for batting. Just on a side note, me and you have had many years following the ashes on here, mostly me trying to stay awake when played in Australia or you running to the shop for another bottle of beer when played over here!
  11. I think you hit the nail on the head, he’s a good appointment, probably the best manager around that’s available to Celtic. If he wins things all will be forgotten, nowt as fickle as football fans.
  12. Brendon Rodgers back as Celtic manager by all accounts, good manager in my opinion. I wonder how the Celtic fans who created the song ‘I hope you die in your sleep Brendon Rodgers’ feel about his return…..
  13. Oh yes, can’t see this starting again today, but the wind has picked up and could blow this through.
  14. Yes. I think the recent UKIP support by Morrissey swung it.
  15. This pitch is going to deteriorate, I’m worried about Moeen’s hand, he seems to be struggling and we need him desperately. England in the box seat after the last 45mins where they’ve been superb. Quick runs and aggressive declaration? You wouldn’t bet against it.
  16. I think the weather played a major part in the decision to declare also Jim. Overcast conditions on Saturday and England took wickets early on as a result. I was talking to some Aussies over here on Merv Hughes tour party on Friday night. They all said it’s the first time since 2005 that they really fear England and that’s due to Stokes and Baz unconventional approach.
  17. Long way to go in the test, don’t give up just yet 47er. Couple of quick wickets and we’re back on top. Before McCullum came in we’d be 100 behind already and heading for a defeat, I’ll take this all day long.
  18. Disappointing wilsden, same with the missed stumping.
  19. Moeen already proving his detractors wrong, that was a superb delivery. Come on England.
  20. Head trying to play the England way and failing miserably, Moeen takes his wicket. 148-4
  21. The game has been played the same way for over 100yrs, it’s about time the mould was broken and here we have England doing just that, leading the world once again. The traditionalist won’t like it, personally I love it. Come on England 🏏
  22. I think the rule of thumb is nothing is predicable under Baz n Stokes, convention goes right out of the window and I love it. They just won the mind games with that declaration, it’s over cast today we could see some movement with the ball, now can they go on and win the match? If they do it will go down as a masterstroke.
  23. Some of those shots Crawley played today were outstanding, you can see why they won’t drop him, he has the potential to be our best batter. Unlucky today.
