  1. Kaminski’s has had injuries. A rare game to rotate so need to make the most of it. I’m surprised Mowbray didn’t go further. Worried about Lenihan and Johnson starting. One of them goes down and we’re in even bigger trouble.
  2. Don’t want to see a first team defender anywhere near the starting line up. If we lose Lenihan to injury we’re in a world of trouble. Rest the obvious candidates and see what Dolan can do with a first start in a while.
  3. It was terrible. Got plenty of time for Neil Yardley and even Warren. He’s not a natural commentator but brings passion to it. I’ve mostly disliked whenever they’ve put someone else in. Cunningham was the notable exception. At least have someone with personality.
  4. Embarrassing to see a side shut up shop from the 6th minute. They got the result but acted like a lower league cup opponent. Very strange. Too blunt in attack and not sure about taking our biggest aerial threat off for another diminutive attacker. We’re not going up so it is what it is. Such a cheap goal to concede but when you only have one fit CB I guess it’s not surprising. Bottom line, we can’t keep conceding and expect to get back into games. We’re not solid enough and too often find ourselves with a mountain to climb. We also need a plan B going forward.
  5. I think issues like how Mowbray reacts on the sidelines or enthusiastic he is in pre match interviews is completely overblown. There are far, far bigger issues. Last night quietly demonstrated our strength in depth. Bringing Holtby, Downing and Trybull off the bench. I can’t imagine many sides in this division can do that. The 5-sub rule might start to really benefit us over Christmas. Concerned by Douglas. Offering nothing more than Bell at present.
  6. Awful performance but got the result. We won’t go much further if we keep having to rely on stealing games in stoppage time. Although it’s pleasing to see us get results after going behind. Other than Elliott, Kaminski, Nyambe and Armstrong, I honestly don’t care if any of the others are dropped for the weekend. The pitch looks shocking. A throwback to the mid 90s. Shame the team in blue and white couldn’t do the same..
  7. Nothing unlucky about it. It’s no coincidence that we’ve lost to Bournemouth, Watford, Bristol City, Norwich etc. We’re not good enough to compete at that end of the table. We beat the bad teams and lose to the good ones, where does that put us. More specifically, did Norwich ever look like giving us the chances that we gifted to them? No. Not solid enough full stop and no plan B in attack.
  8. We’re just not good enough for a sustained promotion push. Look at that sides we beat and the sides that beat us. Today epitomises it. Played quite well at times but not enough in the final third and too unreliable at the back. No plan B if Armstrong isn’t firing.
  9. It’s not unlucky. Farcical defending led to that goal. Nothing to do with luck.
  10. Big game but a defeat today is not a disaster. It’s avoiding a long term slump in form. Losing 5-2 at Brentford a couple of years ago wasn’t the biggest issue, it was the run of defeats afterwards. We can not afford to go through another period of 6/7 games without a win. A win today would be huge, however. I’d take a point right now.
  11. Brereton was due a rest so even if it’s not bad, I’d leave him out of Sat. There’s an argument for leaving Arma out as well. Every game is big so there’s never a good time but he can’t keep playing every minute. Opportunity to get more use out of Gallagher, Dolan and Elliott.
  12. Can’t believe we nicked that. No idea what the subs were about. Taking Gallagher off was a mistake. We’re not going to win many more playing like that but Millwall are clearly hard to beat so won’t knock it.
  13. Genuinely shocking. The whole forum is swamped in attitudes that were out of touch 30 years ago never mind now. That club will forever be shackled by its fan base.
  14. We needed to go on a run to get back in the hunt and that seems to be materialising. I wasn’t able to watch but it sounds like Kaminski is proving to be the signing we’ve needed for years. We needed to nick a win without playing well and today is exactly the type of game we’ve been waiting for. Cant underestimate the value of Gallagher and Brereton consistently contributing. To have so many goal threats is vital and although I’ve not been as impressed with Gallagher compared to Brereton, he keeps finding a way to score. Our squad depth will really start to count going into December. I don’t think any side in this division can point to such a strong squad when fully fit.
  15. Holtby is at the centre of everything good we do. We are no where near the same team when he’s not playing. Massive asset to have him at the club.
  16. To be fair, against 10 men, we’ve gone for it recently. Wycombe and Sheffield Weds come to mind.
  17. Pathetic. Defensively, one of the worst performances I’ve seen at home. Shocking. Final third we look dangerous and when our high press works, it’s effective. But we’re so easily bullied. We’re going to have to rely on another 5-6 match winning run to get near the play offs before Christmas.
  18. With Rothwell out it’s a toss up between Evans and Buckley. Buckley is still very raw. We need squad players like Evans to step up in evenings like these. Time to deliver.
  19. Tough game tonight. Looking forward to it. To be taken seriously we’ve got to beat an in form team. On paper, Reading have no one particularly special in their ranks but you can’t argue with their start to the season. Holtby and Elliott should be able to do the damage. Win this, get back into the top 6 and then we can settle in for a big season.
  20. I sympathise and as someone who hasn’t financially lost out, it’s hard to properly judge. But the club were in a very difficult situation and made a judgement call. They would have angered people whatever they’d done. I don’t necessarily agree with the approach but equally I haven’t got a much better solution. You have to hope fans don’t take it too personally and can see the wider picture. If people choose to throw away their season tickets, fair enough. But punishing Waggott is only punishing the club.
  21. It’s interesting comparing him to Dolan. Dolan is a real talent and has exploded onto the scene. But you can see the difference between a promising youngster and a once in a generation talent. Elliott’s vision, decision making and composure is remarkable. To have that at 17 is frightening. Very fortunate to have him. Let’s enjoy it.
  22. I don’t think anyone expected to see BB play this well 12 months ago. Let’s enjoy this run of form for what it is. The transfer fee will always hang around his neck but right now he’s one of our best players and that is not a sentence I expected to be writing after the first 18 months of his time here. Fair play to him.
  23. I broadly agree. Beating Coventry by 4 means little if you lose to Forest by 1. However, there have been plenty of games in the past against 10 men where we’ve failed to get a result. The fact that we’re consistently pumping the teams that we ‘should’ be beating is a good sign. Very intrigued to see if we can dispatch a better team in the same manner soon. Elliott may well be the difference maker.
  24. Very impressive performance. Brereton is was unplayable. Didn’t think we’d see this level of performance from him and also pleased to see him thrive out wide. Holbty and Elliott are showing that they’re capable of playing at a higher level. Let’s make the most of it. Bit disappointed with Gallagher’s effort levels. In comparison to Brereton he didn’t seem to put himself about. Took his goal well so can’t fault him overall but thought he’d put more effort in.
