  1. You can’t find me for breach of contract because I’ve got an issue with my hamstrings. I’m injured now and don’t want to play until I’m 100% fit because I’m moving to Bournemouth in the summer.
  2. OK let’s run this through. You’re Mowbray, I’m Rothwell. I’m assuming you’ve just told me that I’m not leaving…. Rothwell: I'm not leaving? I’m 27 years old, this is my last major contact and I’m being offered 6x my wage. If you don’t accept Bournemouth’s deal then I’m not turning up to training, this will be the last conversation we have and I’ll go there for free in the summer. And no, I’m not going to Chicago, I have two young kids.
  3. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/pc23tk/benjamin_mendy_charged_with_four_counts_of_rape/hafux1i/ 5 months ago, FYI.
  4. For clarity, is this intended to be comedy? A woman has been raped and beaten up here over a long period of time.
  5. Paying Poveda 11K a week whilst he’s injured is stinging us big time.
  6. Just accepted some Bournemouth fans as new members. Hopefully everyone plays out nicely and we can all chat as football fans. But if not, please use the report function…
  7. I think Mowbrays played this fantastically and I’m usually negative towards the management. This is the timeline IMO… January - Mowbray has offered terms to all 3 key out of contract players. None have signed, none are for sale. All are told if they get Rovers promoted they will be given a huge bonus and will be offered updated, better terms. Wednesday - rejects a bid for 2M from Bournemouth, speaks to Rothwell and tells him under no circumstances will he be leaving. Thursday - makes a statement to local media saying he isn’t leaving. Friday - Rothwell arrives at Brockhall and wants a meeting with Mowbray. He asks to be allowed to speak to other clubs. Mowbray tries to talk him around, but Rothwell’s advisors are pushing for a move knowing he could get multiple times his salary. Rothwell is 27, this is his last contract, he has a fiancé and two kids. Mowbray tells Rothwell to leave Brockhall, confirms he won’t be in the squad or travelling for Saturday and to have a think as to whether or not this is really what he wants. Rothwell’s agent rings Mowbray confirming that Rothwell would like to speak to other clubs this window. Saturday - Mowbray makes a statement after the game confirming the current situation. Rovers start to test the market for Rothwell. Sunday - Rovers receive updated offers from Bournemouth. Chicago Fire have bit on Saturdays availability call outs and offered £3.3M. Rovers tell Bournemouth and Rothwell they’re selling to Chicago Fire unless it’s matched. Bournemouth match the offer. Mowbray tells Rothwell to drive to Bournemouth because he doesn’t want him around training on Monday. Key to remember that Chicago can sign players until mid-Feb and Rothwell would need a work permit and international clearance before the deal could be confirmed. Ergo, he isn’t signing for them tomorrow, it would be Feb. Rothwell doesn’t want to play in the USA, but is worried the Bournemouth move won’t be agreed in times and he will be pushed to Chicago in Feb. So Rothwell and his agent push Bournemouth to get the move agreed ASAP. Bournemouth have increased their offer by 60% in 4 days.
  8. I think Giles was coming anyway. He was the “utility” (or whatever he actually said) player. I suspect the Rothwell replacement will be one player on a permanent deal.
  9. Mowbray wants him nowhere near. He’s told him to get to Bournemouth tonight rather than leaving the training ground tomorrow. @glen9mullansaid that Venkys and Suhail where insisting he stayed, but they’ve listened to Mowbray.
  10. It’s done. Medical first thing in the morning. Transfer won’t be announced until we’ve signed replacements but there’s a verbal agreement and Joe will arrive in Bournemouth in a couple of hours.
  11. I wouldn’t bother myself - he’s a forward / number 10, we would need a Rothwell replacement. Swift is the one for me. Recruitment has been very good in the past 2 years, I’m very relaxed about it. I hope we sell Rothwell, I’d be selling him today if I was Rovers. I’d have a Twitter post put out with the caption “For Sale, Highest Offer Wins”. He’s shown his true colours and 2M now is better than nothing in 4 months . If we keep him here against his will it will damage the squad more than he will help us out. You can see that from what’s already happened - Mowbray has questioned him as a man, Travis has liked posts that are negative to Rothwell. The biggest statement is getting rid of him and saying we’ve improved the squad.
  12. Sounds like Bournemouth are signing Dembele. Did they ever really want Joe? Or just a tactic to unsettle a rival? I assume any interest is from a PL team at this point.
  13. MOTM is live: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/football/match/717138/luton-blackburn?tab=voting
  14. The press the arrow thing? I know, we’re trying to fix it. I say we. Andy is. I’m too busy trying to convince the BRFCS board we should book a BRFCS bus to Wembley…
  15. Here’s the 6M @booth
  16. Darragh down-tooled when we got relegated and Sheff United wanted him. They’re ALL the same. Please don’t think they’re not.
  17. Kind of, but it never really comes to that. Joe will be “owed” X on his contract. They’ll negotiate that figure to Y during the deal for him to leave. That figure will be a % of what he’s owed, it’s in everyone’s interest for a figure to be agreed and is often who blinks first. Rothwell wants the move to go through, Rovers want to pay him as little as possible The best example in recent memory is that WBA striker that turned up at another club on deadline day. WBA refused to pay him anything and insisted he put in a transfer request.
  18. OK - in that case, you’re right and my correction is right. I would suspect after 3.5 years service Joe will get a decent loyalty payment for the remaining 6 months.
  19. You pay a loyalty bonus based on the contract you’ve got. There’s a negotiation absolutely, but the player is owed a loyalty payment.
  20. Shouldn’t matter really - the rep just does what the company recommends.
  21. I was told Mowbray already has a deal verbally agreed to extend for another 2-years, it just hasn’t been inked yet because there’s a trust between Venkys and Mowbray. How else would you convince Markanday to sign? He’s not signing a 4 year deal for a manager leaving in 6 months.
  22. What’s more cowardly is he’s not requesting a transfer. He’s asked to speak to other clubs. The difference being if he requests a transfer he loses the right to his contact and bonuses being paid up. So whatever figure he’s sold for - remember we still need to pay him his contract. Unless he submits a formal transfer request. BTW - same agent that’s instigating all of this represents Travis.
  23. They listen to, respect and trust Mowbray. This is different than other high profile transfers.
