  1. If an effective protest is happening you need one person to set up a WhatsApp “community” group and one person to coordinate it.
  2. Venkys, in other words. Neither would be here without them.
  3. I don’t think this is the case — firstly, if you go into the club shop they won’t sell you a McGuire 50 shirt, but also the lack of comment smells of an element of truth.
  4. I think local media especially has changed so much over the last 15-20 years. There was a time when the clubs needed them as much as they needed the clubs. I remember SAF used to argue with the MEN every single week, but they could never ban such an important local media outlet. I remember in 2011 the LET bravely lead with a story calling for Kean to be sacked - I don’t think they’d be able to do that nowadays. The reality is now journalists are at the mercy of website clicks, so don’t really have the scope to do long investigative pieces and have the maintain a positive relationship with the club or realistically they’ll lose their job. If a BBC Lancs reporter, as an example, pisses off the club they’ll ultimately lose their job because BBC Lancs can’t rock the boat. That being said I have a lot of respect for all local journalists doing their best whilst working under the restrictions that the job provides.
  5. I’m happy for it to be put down as a misunderstanding that was clarified 🙂
  6. Where does the screenshot say: “is on a paid agreement to toe the Venkys party line” Come on JBiz, I’m happy for you to have an opinion, I’m happy for you to bash my opinion to pieces, but what you’re saying and reality are a way apart here. The quote you’ve put up says the local media reports have reported the Rovers PR. That’s their job, why wouldn’t they do that? If they have a statement or comment from the club they need to use it.
  7. I would still like a response to this, if possible @JBiz. I’m not sure what you’re suggesting, but if it is as above I’m going to need to see some evidence of it. BRFCS has strong relationships with BBC Lancs, LET and Lancs Live, so it’s important there isn’t any confusion. From my points of view there’s a full team of people and moderators here striving to do and create the exact opposite of what you’re suggesting is happening. So whilst you’re absolutely welcome to an opinion, as is everyone, you’ll need to back it up.
  8. Yeah we could have. Or he could have done his ACL and never quite been the same player. Or we might not have got 22M. Or we might have gone down and vultures would have circled. I think it stinks to high heaven - especially with the statement saying the club was suitably funded before any of this happened. But I can’t say that and commit to it until I’ve seen what happens. If we spend 15M in summer on three quality players that make a positive impact then it’s probably the right decision.
  9. Was there? I hadn’t seen that reported, can you link it? My understanding was that Ayala, Dack, Brereton etc where all let go because JDT and GB thought the funds could be better used elsewhere. We signed three players - Ennis, Sigurdsson and Tronstad, then “the project changed”.
  10. I haven’t read the comments from the players but it isn’t a good look to have them sat at the front without their new manager alongside them. If they where doing that the media officer should start the press conference by saying JDT won’t be speaking on anything further than introducing his new players, so don’t ask questions about anything but that.
  11. We agreed his transfer before the cutbacks so it’s reasonable he’s on 15K to me.
  12. I think that quote is true. If I was in charge I would have sold Adam for 22M+ as well. Every other club that’s done what we are attempting has sold players at the right time for their maximum value. There is no point us having a 22M midfielder and gaping holes up front and in defence. The question is will we reinvest any of the money. Thats what I’ll judge them on.
  13. Is this me? I don’t think I’ve ever suggested anyone “is on a paid agreement to toe the Venkys party line” - can you show me where I said that? If so, for absolute clarity, I don’t think anyone at BBC Lancs, Andy Bayes or Elliott Jackson are being paid to say specific things.
  14. We’re going to spend every penny we do have on loan fees. What happens in summer when we lose 6 loans, Gallagher, Dolan and Travis doesn’t want to come back?
  15. Assuming this is true, as the paper trail seems to suggest it is, then well done to all involved on turning the McGuire deal around. I’ve no idea what his credibility as a Championship striker is, but if we’ve made an agreement we should (and seemingly have) do the right thing and honour the deal. I don’t know what happened overnight, but it felt extremely uncomfortable and the club have to acknowledge after Lewis O’Brien fans will assume the worst. Not the best start to life in the UK for Duncan, here’s hoping he finds his feet and starts banging in goals quickly.
  16. I think it’s Ennis, Leonard, Gilsnan and Batty. But I won’t get confirmation on names.
  17. Take this with a pinch of salt, but I’m told there’s at least 4 players including Ennis and Gilsnan that are waiting to for loan moves away from the club but JDT is refusing to approve anything until someone clarifies exactly who, if anyone, is signing.
  18. I sincerely hope so, mostly so we do right by McGuire and Orlando.
  19. 5 years 4.49%. Best we could get but still a huge increase from the 1.95 we where at from 2 years ago.
  20. Yes. We’re a fucking shambles, always have been and always will be under these owners and CEO. I remortgaged yesterday and I’ll put the fucking lot on it being our fault entirely without blinking an eye.
  21. The senior staff at Rovers think the fan base are totally stupid and will believe whatever nonsense they put out through friendly media outlets. And quite frankly they’re right. There is only a few of us bother question any of it.
  22. I don’t believe the local media reports for a second. They stink of reporting the Rovers PR line. Think about it - why do you inform people at midnight that a transfer isn’t happening, for a flight that lands at 8AM if there’s a potential hiccup in the Wharton deal? You don’t! You wait until the morning when you get clarification on the Wharton situation because the player is on a plane regardless. The plane isn’t turning around, there’s no need to inform anyone the deal isn’t happening until the player is at Brockhall with a pen in his hand.
  23. I think we target Suhail. Get a number of us buying tickets Jack Walker upper tier - he sits every home game alongside Waggott in the Directors seats. We can very easily be within eye-line and earshot of him. He’s got away with being the owners representative for far too long.
