v Plymouth Argyle (h) - 09/03/2024
chaddyrovers replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
My thoughts on the game are, We started the game really well and on the front foot and Szmodics scored a good goal from good play from Ayari, and I thought we would win the game. After Sigurdsson missed that great chance, Plymouth took over the rest of the first half by playing some good passing football and making with real width and playing balls over the top/in between Wharton and McFadzean. We played far too high and allow Hardie to simply run in behind time after time. Plymouth missed a number of great chances and I was relieved to get to half time with us winning. I expect changes to the team cos Wahlstedt looked injured during the first half making a save at the Plymouth player feet. I expect Hedges to come on for McFadzean at half time with us moving to 4-4-2 or stick with 3 at the back with Pickering moving to centre back and Hedges at half time. Plus Michalski coming on for his debut for the Injured Wahlstedt. I was very surprised no changes at half time. We started the second half well but then we were too high again and Hardie run in behind and McFadzean fouled him. I don't know how bad it was or whether it was soft but it could have been avoid if if Eustace had sub McFadzean off for Chrisene or Hedges. After that it would tough and Plymouth carried on with playing attacking football and making the pitch as big as possible but they couldn't find a goal. Rovers had a couple of half chances but nothing more. When we would the ball back we were too quick to give it back to them. Ayari was our best player for me. Szmodics played well. Wahlstedt and Hyam also had decent games. Plymouth exploited the wide areas alot and their number 2 Mumba was their best player for me. Also Wharton and McFadzean slowest at turning behind them So overall, its another point and its 8 points from 8 games since JDT left, and after today's games we are 3 points clear. Its a big week for Eustace cos he has a full week of training to get his ways and methods he wants and get 3 points at Boro next Saturday we badly need. I would like us to set either 4-4-1-1 or 3-5-2 next week at Boro. P.S. I didn't understand the booing of Ash Phillips or the booing at full time either. Also the officials were awful and one of the worst displays I've seen all season. -
John Eustace - our head coach
chaddyrovers replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I do think that some of the comments linking Eustace to Kean or Coyle is bullshit and not warranted at all. Calling him some of the names people have is childish and pathetic to read. When we lose I tend to keep away from the messageboard cos this place is toxic and horrible to read. We have got 7 points from the last 7 games since JDT whilst its a brilliant return it is better than the previous 10 games returned. You also have to factor in that Eustace has wanted to stop Rovers leaking so many goals and play more pragmatic style(like plenty on here wanted us to do so) and also have very little time on the training field and to actually coach the players in what he wants on the field. I have said previously that he has tried to make harder to beat, more defensive solid like Mark Hughes did when he came in. In Hughes first 9 games he only won 1, drew 5 and lost 3. -
Leeds 2 nil up at Sheffield Wednesday. Sheff Wed were the better team until Leeds scored just before half time

Rovers have gone their ticket pricing all wrong for this game and did for the Millwall game. Rovers should have offered this game for £15 maximum. Get Ewood Park full. Same for the Ipswich game, but £25 for the walk on fan is just wrong. Of Course Eustace's comments are about taking the pressure off the players, but I think it is also been done to calm down the fan based. In the context he has put his comment he is technically correct but we all know that Rovers need to win this game. -
Burnley spent alot of money but how much of that money were spent on players with PL experience. They instead sign players with huge potential and mainly from overseas clubs. Sheffield United were always up against it from minute 1 given they sold their best 2 players the summer in Berge and Ndiaye.

My team would be Wahlstedt O'Riordan Hyam Wharton Pickering Hedges Buckley Ayari Dolan Szmodics Gallagher. I suspected Eustace will stick with his back 5 and this will be his team Wahlstedt Hyam McFadzean Wharton Pickering Buckley Ayari Chrisene Dolan Szmodics Gallagher I think we will win this game 2-nil. Szmodics with both goals -

It was slow and unimaginative performance by Rovers. Slow and safety in possession all game. It's another point and we came back to draw the game. Its 7 points in the lasy 7 games. Only positives in dull and boring game Only highlighted of the game was Szmodics's finish. I wouldn't have put Pickering at right wing back but change to a back 4 at half bring on O'Riordan at right back and taken McFadzean for Sigurdsson or Chrisene to play left wing in 4-4-1-1 formation. I hope Briitain, Tronstad and Pears are all fit for Saturday game. My team would be Pears; Brittain, Hyam, Wharton? Pickering; Dolan, Buckley, Tronstad, Sigurdsson; Szmodics; Gallagher BTW, Gregg Broughton was in the Director box last night -
Broughton is at games According to Elliott Jackson, GB will do his post transfer window interview during the international football break

It was low risk signing in terms only 5 months contract and no long term commitment from us. He was in director box for Norwich with Waggott, Pasha, Coar and Cheston That would be a question for medical expert or someone with football medical experience. -

Look at the actual injury. He has broken the plate in his shin and needs it replaced. No blame to anyone including GB it is just unlucky the plate broke after such a none tackle. It wasn't nasty or dangerous Far too many people are very quick to judge without looking a context of the situation Here some reading for people to do on plates in shin https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treatment-tests-and-therapies/tibiafibula-fracture-open-reduction-and-internal-fixation https://www.limblength.org/treatments/lengthening-deformity-correction-devices/internal-fixation-plates/#:~:text=For complex fractures%2C a plate, the plate can be removed. -
Thanks for the update

Its 6 points in 6 games since JDT left. oh well Yet Eustace was on the touchline in the second half shouting instructions and orders to the players and making subs during the game. That is fact cos I witness it live inside Ewood Park. Do you not see that? -

The team needed directions and instructions from him to make sure we won that game. Stoke was on the up.during that second half -

So why was he on the touchline second half? Why was given players orders from the touchline? -

I would go for Maddison instead of Rashford. Foden on the left with Bellingham and Maddison as our attacking midfielders.

Could this not be down to the number of games he has played in a short time scale. Maybe move Hyam into the centre and bring in O'Riordan into the right side of the back 3 What changes would you have made during the game? What would your team be for Tuesday game? -
