  1. Liverpool defensive injuries have got better. Gomez is now injury free. Hopefully that one we can get done. Maybe we should move on but we don't know the in's and out's of what is going on behind the scenes regarding transfers
  2. No he doesn't choose the shortlist but he does decide whether a player join or not from what JDT and GB said in their interviews when they joined and what Waggott told me how the structure would work. Well Glen, this is very different to what JDT said when he done his first interviews that he would have final say on whether a player join or not. GB say the say that the Head coach would have final say on who comes in. JDT's interview from when he was unveiled as Rovers head coach and what his involvement is in recruiting new players(6 mins and 20 seconds in) BBC Radio Lancashire - Sport, Blackburn Rovers head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson GB has a big job bringing in players but he has to do and fairly quick now. 10 days to go, we need at 4 maybe 5 if BBD leaves. Others want more what is their opinion. thanks Glen for clearing that up Maybe the press should stop asking JDT questions about Transfers. Gregg Broughton shouldn't be answering any questions in the transfer windows and for the media need to understand this new structure.
  3. He say he was a striker with pressing qualities for example then its down to GB and the recruitment to compile a shortlist depending on budget then JDT and GB pick their first choice to go after signing them
  4. plenty of smiles and laughs in the interview.
  5. I'm sure JDT doesn't need to read fans message boards or other sites to know what fans must be thinking. he ain't a daft person and very clever footballing man. Also from that link you quoted from he says "It is not panic but the alarm clock is ringing, we can hear them". So lets not panic and its down Gregg Broughton to bring in the players that we need. Pressure on him now. Its on him to deliver him. Plenty of on his plate including transfer ins and transfer out, bringing in recruitment staff, etc Busy next 10 days for him. That is what Gregg Broughton should be doing today and tomorrow offering him to clubs for 12 mil plus 3 mil in add-on's
  6. Deadline is Thursday 1st September at 11pm
  7. Didn't we offer him a new improve contract about 18 months ago? That has unsigned and he now was to move. Probably overseas. Its down to Rovers to sell him and I would be bring his agent today and sorting out a deal and which club he wants to move to. Get it done this week
  8. Remain calm and patience at all time. Panicking get you nowhere. It's going to very busy in the next 10 days with players coming in and players leaving. Stay calm and patience guys. 😉
  9. Everybody has different opinions on how many signings we need. Its all about quality signings and making sure our budget can stretch to bring in what we need.
  10. It wasn't till you said it just he is going to very busy person and this is when he has to earn his money for sure. I disagree there, we need to get a deal done. To be honest if Ben wanted from the start of the season then we should have done early in the window. We have been talks with his agent and him for ages but no agreement was reach. 18 months ago but they didn't want to sign.
  11. Surprised that the are over the FFP threshold but Probably why their asking price for certain price are crazy. Surprised they didn't sell Maddison to Newcastle when they offer 40 million for him
  12. we have to move him on quickly and I wonder if this is part of him wanting out this window. Maybe Sevilla or Nice would be his choice or PL move to Everton. We need to get the deal done quickly for him and use some of the money for a striker and wide player. So we need at least 1 centre back depending whether we are playing 2 or 3 centre back, 1 centre midfielder, 1 left winger, 1 striker, some on here want a left back in. Its going to be busy last 10 days for Rovers now. Gregg Broughton will need to be sleeping at the training ground 🤣
  13. we probably could afford both but given that Bowler is linked with Forest and Fulham, a deal for us seems unlikely. No point wasting time on it. On Styles, maybe he not fancy by our management team. Rovers need between 4 to 6 depending who is posted and if our budget left is around 6 million then I'm not sure we can spend 3 mil plus on one player surely.
  14. I do not know what going on at Leicester with no summer signings apart from 3rd choice keeper being signed there. Has the owner cut the funding there? They need to sell Tillemans and Fofana who both want out. Its just seem abit of mess there.
  15. Rovers have no interest in Styles or Bowler
  16. Still living in the past Jim. Football has move on massive in terns of scouting Opportunities and bring in players Mercer, I am fully aware of when the transfer window. Play in different positions so not a right comparison
  17. I have spoken about the championship transfers being slow in the last couple of weeks which is true if you look at transfers completed within that timeframe Yes we lost some decent/good players but have upgrade on right back in Brittain for one. Just need to bring a couple in this week. Liverpool denying the Van Der Berg loan deal hasn't help us in terms of bringing in signings I am talking about Van Der Berg from Liverpool, Matt Clarke from Brighton and Matty Longstaff from Newcastle. Clarke and Longstaff are out of contract in summer 2023. I don't know how much they are on wages wise but hopefully we can afford them. Yes I am fully aware of the work permit situation with European deals but there is plenty of players we can sign. Here is 1 centre back, 1 midfielder and 1 striker. All 3 qualify for work permit and wouldn't need an appeal process. Centre back - Ismael Kandouss from Royale Union Saint Gilloise. contract ends in summer 2023. Maybe 1 to 1.5 million pounds. Centre midfielder - Erdal Rakip from Malmo. contract ends in 4 months. Would cost very little Striker - Dante Vanzeir from Royale Union Saint Gilloise. contract ends in 2024. Might cost 3 to 4 million. This is from a quick search and Rovers scout players from all over the world using tools like wyscout, etc. So they would have better ideas on players they can sign and scout them in more detail than I can since I am not pro scout or have any interest in working in Football.
  18. Who said we are other championship players cos I would be looking towards the PL and foreign market for signings. Players from Liverpool, Brighton, Newcastle or foreign market like Germany or Scandinavia Us, Blackpool, PNE, Swansea, Boro all looking for more players. Boro hadn't signed a striker 3 and half ago despite chasing striker after striker. They have now got 3 strikers but been chasing them or months after months Exactly the budget will be gone and we still have a couple of position that need filling. I would look to bring 4 quality players. 2 centre backs, 1 centre midfielder and 1 striker. It all comes down to how much the transfer fee or loan fee cost plus wages fitting in with the wage budget
  19. The Newcastle Man City was full of quality and very entertainment.
  20. Suggest you look at how much activity there is in the Championship transfers market. Not much at all. Its very slow. Clubs aren't releasing players at the minute. That's the market we are in
  21. We should have played 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 formation with either Gallagher or BBD as the main striker
  22. Leeds have been excellent so far. Really like their high pressing they do
  23. We played far too deep yesterday whether it was midfield 2 or back line. We need to further up the pitch. Surprised he didn't play 3 in centre midfielder to match them whether It has 5-3-2 or 4-3-3 formation.
  24. I haven't watched the hundred so far but there is only 50 over cricket at county cricket so Who is even in some sort of form. not many I bet.
