2022/23 Season predictions
chaddyrovers replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think we should be aiming for the PL within 2 years now. We got a director of football who will have a footballing strategy to get us there. Now we need a good head coach who will play a style and formation that's suits these players. Yes we didn't get Farke or Carvalhal but we will hopefully make a good appointment but whoever is appointment the target should still be PL within 2 years Now you mention having to replace certain players who have left the club or might be leaving. This is all down to recruitment and getting in players who will deliver and improve the clubs whilst bringing some young players into the first team squad like Jake Garrett, Jack Vale and Ash Phillips. If Brereton does go then hopefully we will some of the money of that money to sign some players but there is a lot of good players out there for low fees or even on free transfer who would improve us. I see plenty of reasons to be optimistic for the coming season. If you don't fine but that's ain't mine. -
The recruitment and scouting team which need to new staff adding to it since Park is going, a couple of others have left recently. Its going to be a busy rest of the week for Gregg Broughton as we need fitness staff for Monday, Physios and recruitment staff plus a head coach appointment Thanks Mike. I did whether we can get him I just don't know to be honest

why shouldn't it be? We should be always aiming for promotion and not keep settling for mid table mediocre. We don't know who the next head coach but we have bought in an experience person as Director of football. Hopefully Lenihan and Nyambe will stay at Rovers so then we need 6 quality signings in my opinion even if we lose Ben Brereton which looks likely. -

The next head coach should be focusing on getting us promotion and keep bringing through our young players and developing them. I mention Xisco Munoz who won promotion as Watford head coach. Christiansen would be decent option for us imo. We have to see who we appoint hopefully this week as our next head coach

so you accept that your previous point was wrong when I was clear who I consider an upgrade on Mowbray? well our opinions on the championship experience point are different so we have to agree to disagree. Cocu in his first season finish 9th and we finish below them. His second season didn't do well but Derby financial problems started then. He did bring through several quality young players which is something we need our head coach appointment to do going forward. He not the best choice but he isn't the worst choice

If we are after Paul Warne(if these rumours are correct) then I wonder who else from Rotherham he would want to bring him apart from his Number 2 Richie Barker? Maybe Ross Burbeary who has background in fitness and Stephen Gilpin his head Physiotherapy given that we have vacancies in those roles at club

Dyche is unrealistic under any Rovers leadership. Are all of 3 realistically salary wise? I think wanting Championship experience in our head coach is actually a good thing. One of the main reasons why I wanted Farke and Carvalhal cos of the championship experience and what it takes to reach the top 6 and in Farke's case promotion. I think my point on this was clear and sensible so I will posted the comment "Xisco Munoz, Thomas Christiansen, Sabri Lamouchi would be upgrade on Mowbray in all fairness. Jokanovic will be interesting one. Cocu could be decent enough if we got the PSV one

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Travis and Wharton for me -
Farke has go to the Bundesliga and Carvalhal gone to UAE for around 6 times the salary he would have got here. Would Warne really be the worst choice? Good solid manager. Hopefully working with better quality players he could take us to PL within 2 years of his reign He was 3/1 last night at 11pm. He was around 18/1 a couple of days ago

That is what has been reported by 3 different journalists. So no other names? So if the strict parameters wasn't what has been promote then who would you go for? Christiansen averaged 1.51 points per game at Leeds, plus he has good/decent record at 2 other European clubs. Plus international experience. Leeds record 35 games, 15 won, 6 draw and 14 lose. I'm answered that question in my post above.
