The Director of Football and head coach structure is the right one for me for the reasons I have outlined in previous posts on this. bringing in someone like JDT who is used to working in this structure is what you want.

Cameron Brannagan is a player I have mention several times on here. Solid player who can score goals from centre of midfield. This is what we need. It was solid signing. Veljko Birmančević would get a work permit and He has played for JDT so its no surprise he was one or two of players he worked with before. we have been linked to him for the past couple of weeks.

I'm sure JDT will be backed by the club but if you look at the words from him this is project and this week was about assessing the squad and seeing which young players are good enough for the first team squad. Plus we seen the LT article saying we only 6 signings which I agree we need. Its very different situation and you know it is. I've seen plenty of Jack Vale to have an opinion that he is ready to be part of this season first team squad. If you disagree fine but I won't be changing my opinion so we have to agree to disagree on this point. not at all cos we have no idea what offer was made in terms of weekly wage, signing on fee and length of contract plus bonuses or even if he is our first choice or whether we found someone who is better player but has just become available to move. I don't know why people thought we would be busy this week given JDT and GB comments about they assess the squad and their young players they took away on pre training season training camp. I think we sign 1 or 2 within the couple of weeks which will calm people down.

I think Brendon McCullum's comments have put it better than I come. I like his attacking shots and the way he drives it good to watch. Just a slight technique problem but nothing he can't adapt it I think Tom Haines from Sussex would be the one to replace him if he needs replacing

Since some people are suggesting what they would do. I will post what I have suggested I would do. I would sign 6 signings including 1 Right back, 1 centre back, 2 centre midfielders, 1 left winger and 1 strikers. Plus promote Right back James Brown, Centre defender Ash Phillips, Centre Midfielder Jake Garrett and striker Jack Vale into the first team squad. Also sort out whether Ben Brereton is staying and signing a new contract or being sold and we used some of the money to improve the squad like signing Right Back Callum Brittain from Barnsley who I feel would suit how I think JDT will want to play his full back. Some Centre midfielder suggestions Callum Styles from Barnsley, Massimo Luongo on a free transfer Plymouth midfielder Panutche Camara Conor Hourihane on a free transfer Han-Noah Massengo from Bristol City. 12 months left on his contract.

I think that's style suit this squad tbh and that including Dack.

I think Crawley is the right opener for us and our strongest player for that. No idea what Rob Key has he hasn't made any public statement on him which is the right way to do. As Phili has said Jack Walker used to do it when he was the owner of our club. You will find some clubs like Spurs under Levy did it when Harry Redknapp or Mauricio Pochettino was there. Or Chelsea and Manchester United under Jose Mourinho. Simple question, if you were owner of a football club would you not be asking serious questions of your manager before authorising signings? in order to make sure it was the right deal for your club you own JDT and his staff are assessing the squad in Portugal before they make their moves in the transfer market. correct there.
