  1. I think Mowbray wanted the club to be grateful for the job but he failed in his main job which was promotion and after 4 years of trying and this season blowing our best chance cos of him he had to go. The owners seems not to want to offer him and wanted to wait until the end of the season. I think him and his agent expect to be offer a new contract around Christmas but they weren't one. Also I think the fans turning on him during the Stoke Game upset him but as Waggott said his comments were wrong in Fans forum meeting. I think there is a plan and we will now go through the interview process. Rovers want a sporting Director and head coach. We are both in totally agreement on the structure we want. I do think this structure rules out people like Gareth Ainsworth or Chris Hughton but I think its the right structure to move forward with. Yes I agree we need someone who is experience in sporting director role.
  2. I will mention a name who might be good possible as new Sporting Director is Steve Hitchen. Former Spurs head of recruitment and scouting. Plus he was close to being appointing Everton DoF in February/March time but didn't happen and Kevin Thelwell was appointed
  3. Davenport need to go and play regular football somewhere. I like Davenport but injuries has impacted his time here
  4. Get Parkinson in the Test team
  5. Well that is no surprise with you. What agency? Good to hear you would be happy with either. We have to see what happens in the couple of weeks regarding these 2 appointments
  6. I think we shouldn't renew either of their contracts for next season. I have been abit disappointed by Davenport not having a more of an impact in the 4 years but too many injuries. He needs to go somewhere and play regular football. On Butterworth, he needs regular football at league 1 or 2 level cos he has talent but playing a few minutes won't help him. On Fleetwood spell he played out of position or on bench cos they only played 1 up front.
  7. If the LT is correct and we are looking for Sporting Director and Head coach structure then I don't see Ainsworth accepting that Head Coach role and I think he will likely stay at Wycombe. I will throw another name into the mix is Former Watford head coach Xisco Muñoz who contract at Spanish club SD Huesca is up at the end of June. He did well at Watford and they were 13th in PL when Watford sacked him.
  8. You thought that Mowbray was staying despite him saying he was off. The Sporting Director role is needed and many clubs even at Championship clubs are now employing them Its over 5 years since we actually seen a footballing appointment to the club. Lets hope they have learnt about how football works. Would you been happy with Daniel Farke or Carlos Carvalhal as our next head coach? Yes I agree with this
  9. Its been over 5 years since their last appointment so hopefully in those years they have learnt and better understand football and how it works. each to they own, but I remember seeing Coyle odds on favourite for few days and I dismiss it then. I have placed several bets on different possible replacement. Glen, Are you still positive and confident that Farke will be incoming?
  10. Joe Root makes an hundred today for Yorkshire vs Lancashire. Harry Brook is out 41 bowled by Matt Parkinson. Hopefully both will be in the England test squad in a couple of weeks
  11. I want an experience head coach like Farke. Glen Mullan and Alan Nixon have all reported our interest in him. People have backed who they want here.
  12. I can see your point here. I would favour an experience head coach coming in. Farke, Carvalhal and Wagner being 3 candidates we should be looking at for that role. Plus an experience DoF like Stuart Webber or Nicky Hammond would be ideal. Maybe informal interviews have taken already who knows with their agents to find out what demands and terms are already with certain candidates Well I do have plenty of hope on 2 good appointments being made
  13. I wouldn't discount Leeds just yet. Why? Cos you think it's dead rubber for them.
  14. England were 'blown away' by 'impressive' Brendon McCullum interview, says Andrew Strauss (msn.com)
  15. You are correct there but Carrick was being linked with Lincoln job a couple of days ago.
  16. lets see who we appoint into the 2 roles and then give our verdict on it
  17. Michael Carrick is being linked with Lincoln job and he is reported has interested in the job. A director of football is responsible for much more than just transfers and he is going for all of footballing structure. Nixon never said they was a shortlist already but Rovers planned to interview 6 candidates. This is where you aren't properly following the story. Sharpe has said we have had over 60 applications for the job. So that suggests to me this is sort after position but we have to appoint the right person for the head coach that we want they to fill I have had a few bets on the next manager of us and that I have picked up some good odds on a few.
  18. I made mistake thinking it was this Sunday but thats Spurs at home to them It won't be easy as you are saying as you are making to be. I think Newcastle will win and Tripper and Wood will score to send them down. Imagine that
  19. If you are bringing in Farke or Carvalhal then promotion will be the aim. Mowbray made far too many excuses about not able to match other teams financially and we should be happy with mid table. Huddersfield and Luton have shown that you don't need loads of money I think this structure should have been put in place as soon as Venkys took over the club IMO. I imagine if Venkys have signed off on this structure then they are fully behind it.
  20. Newcastle won't be the beach at all. Its their last home of the season and I expect Newcastle to win. Their performance against Liverpool at home was good
  21. Ben Brereton sale will be massive loss to our football club and team. He was great this season and I hope a good managerial appointment can convince him to stay here and sign a new contract
  22. I think Venus is leaving and if you read Nixon post this new Sporting Director role won't be Venus
  23. Why? Would you still fill with despair if we appoint an experience DoF and Farke or Carvalhal as our next head coach? Do you have a problem with this football structure? If you look at the Norwich and how they did it is something I would be looking at bringing in here. Youth Development will be key part of our footballing strategy aswell as improving our scouting knowledge to find more gems out there in the footballing world.
