Mowbray, the summer and beyond
chaddyrovers replied to TheRovers1994's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
A new manager will be able to bring in his own players and shape the squad his own way and fit his tactics. I suggested a few players that would fit the way I would like to play next season and fit the way I would us to play which would be 4-3-3 and the counter attack. I have said that I think Lenihan will stay next season. I do think Venkys will invest this summer Also where was Rothwell going to move to given that Bournemouth withdraw the Rothwell bid in favour of signing Todd Cantwell. -

I think the way Derby play will play into our hands with Rooney likes to play out from the back and we should be high and force them into mistakes leading to opportunities for us -

Fulham are going for promotion as we are. You make a fair point on Preston and Blackpool I guess 2 massive blows there. Lowe has been very good at left back/wing back for them. They don't really have quality back up for Lowe. They could change to back 4 maybe -
22 Years ago We appointed Graeme Souness ...
chaddyrovers replied to StubbsUK's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I remember watching him on Sky Sports in the studio doing analysis on a Premier League game and his straight talking was impressive just a week or 2 before his appointment as manager here. He's never changed and he still one of my favourite pundit. He was great manager for us and his promotion team was a joy to watched. He managed to lead us to beating those Dingles twice in a season and the 5 nil home win was one of my favourite wins as Rovers fan. It's Shame how it ended but I will never had a bad word to say about his tenure here. This is only one Greame Souness. -

Given that Everton sold their left back Digne to Everton before Lampard was appointed. The other left back Mykolenko is a new signing and is trying to settle in while in his own country there is war going on. Not a easy situation to be in. Hasn't Kenny been playing left back in most of Lampard with Keane and Holgate as centre back with Coleman at right back? -

I wouldn't think most of those players I mentioned Would be within our wage structure. So do I hope I am right about Lenihan -

I think Lenihan will stay but I think we can replace Nyambe and Rothwell with similar quality and I gave some good examples of potential signings. Like Right position in Brattain from Barnsley or Bree from Luton. On replacing Rothwell I suggested these 3 players in Styles from Barnsley, Brannagan from Oxford and Matty Longstaff from Newcastle. What do you think of these suggestions? -

I think its an exciting prospect and challenge in the summer if we don't get promote for the manager/head coach whether its Mowbray in charge or a new person to rebuild the squad and if its a new guy a challenge for him to bring in his own players and shape the squad his own way. -

I'm abit like that myself. Still can't believe we didn't win on Saturday after the chances we created. Agreed with your comment about Gallagher seems much better and more determine when he went centre with Dack. One of the reasons I put him up front. Plus I want my wide players and full backs putting crosses in. The team I have picked is balanced and I went for back 4 cos I want us to press higher and similar to Swansea and Cardiff when we played that well. Derby will play it out from the back and I believe we should be pressing higher which something we didn't do on Saturday enough Coming to stores near you for £1.99 per drink soon. 🤣 No chance -
Yet again you have misread my comments and nowhere did I remove all responsibility from Mowbray but my point was the players have to take some responsibility for missing these chances and Mowbray will take the rest.

What changes would people make to he starting 11? would anyone change formation(I would)? What do people think the result will be? Rovers will win this and I will go for 4 nil prediction I would change formation and go back to 4-2-3-1 formation. Good to see most of today's result go against Burnley. I think they will go down cos I fully expect Everton will come good in the coming weeks. Leeds got a late minute winner today. Newcastle have pulled away from the bottom 3. Brentford beat them yesterday. Leeds have played 2 more games than Burnley tho. -

That's where VAR doesn't work. Newcastle deserved a penalty for that. They deserved at least a point. They were very good over all the pitch. -
Mowbray, the summer and beyond
chaddyrovers replied to TheRovers1994's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I don't think Football works that way. Maybe Brereton will fancy a move to another like Everton or West Ham or Newcastle. Who have all been linked with him over the past few weeks Khadra makes things happens and his skill/pace/tricky is there to see. Given his age he needs a manager who will develop like Mowbray has this season. Much better and improve from the player who started the season will us. what part of Blackburn End is that? I don't know how anyone can say what the fan base is thinking when it will increase of support of Mowbray when we were winning games and will go down when we aren't winning. -
Ignoring them? they are facts but the manager isn't the person who is on pitch, its the players who have these chances to sore and haven't taken them. You can only so far and so much keep blaming Mowbray. Well lets see what happen for the rest of the season and I think we will make the playoffs. Well we have to win the next game and rest will take care of itself.

Load of tripe is that comment Dack was nervous yesterday and wouldn't over commit to much. But its his first step on the way back to match fitness. He will take time to get there but hopefully by next season we have Fully Fit Dack. I agree with your Giles comment. I said he would have started with him before the game in the team I posted as Bristol City would be defensive. -
