You have since the information from Andy Bayes and Rich Sharpe have both reported in the 2 days that Rovers are moving to next stage of the recruitment of our next head coach by starting interviewing process and hopefully we can make an appointment with a weeks or 2. I would imagine that Rovers have had alot of applicants for the job over the past few weeks and have worked through them to finalise a shortlist to interview

Like I said in my post we have to 2 fitness coaches to replace cos Liam Mason left for Newcastle and Jack Dowling for Everton in March. Plus our head of medical services Andrew Mitchell left for Red Bull Leipzig now. So there is your 3 vacancies. On Carlos Carvalhal, I don't know who he had on his staff at Braga with him or what he want will him here if he took the job. Daniel Farke, I would think he want his regular staff with him in number 2 Eddie Riemer, first-team coach Christopher John and Head of Performance Chris Domogalla. So If that what he wants to come here then I would give him what he wants. Just for the record I think Mark Venus, David Lowe and Ben Benson should go but I would keep Damien Johnson here for sure. wrong there, he said the majority of staff will stay, but what is he including that statement like scouting, recruitment and data analysis aswell?

on the coaching point, we are already without 2 fitness coaches and head of medical services so they will need replacing. Plus I would expect Venus and Lowe will go with Benson staying. It will be interesting who we interview in the next few days but I think Farke and Carvalhal will be interview and I think couple more foreign options. I think the Canada national coach John Herdman might be interview and he seemed to done a good job at national team boss there tho managing Championship level is very different. If we can appoint either Farke or Carvalhal as our next head coach then it should be them. They will have demands over budgets cos they will want promotion push here not just settling for mid table mediocre Depends what you class as majority of the existing staff whether that including recruitment and data analysis staff, we already have 3 vacancies on the first team coaching staff already. I think Venus and Lowe will go.

Damien Johnson should remain in his current role. Venus, Lowe and Benson should be sack allowing the new head coach to bring in his own number 2, fitness coach and GK coach.

You would expect interviews to start of next week for both positions. I think we will interview at least 3 foreign head coaches at least.

So what is the latest from what you know from sources/people?

Well former Aussie Captain Ricky Pointing rates him. I think he will become a good player for England. If you didn't want him then I would bring Sussex's captain and opener Tom Haines

So did I, but time will tell. I think Mowbray lost the owners faith 12 months or so ago and never regain it. We had a great chance of promotion this season and Mowbray blown it. Now we need to appoint a competent Sporting Director and Head Coach. I have said earlier this week I would be looking for a foreign head coach as they are used to this sort of set up. Farke, Carvalhal, Xisco Munoz and Maybe Diego Martinez would be the right appointment. If we go for a cheap appointment then the chance to build on last season and push on to promotion push/top 6 will be gone

Never said it would be easier but he isn't fit enough to be part of the squad next season if we do appoint Daniel Farke or Carlos Carvalhal. Yes I know we got a couple of young centre defenders like Ash Philips and Sam Barnes. Who says Ayala will want to be coach or has he even done his coaching badges or whether he will a good coach?

I think its a good squad overall and one I want to see under our new Captain Ben Stokes and new red ball coach Brendan McCullum. Looks like Ollie Pope will bat 3 and Harry Brook will; bat 5 whilst as Ben Stokes confirmed last week he will bat 6 and Joe Root at 4. Zak Crawley I expect will be appoint Vice Captain he is someone I think will score alot of runs this summer for us. Its seems a choice between Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes for the wicket keeper position. Disappointed that Josh Bohannon hasn't been selected by England. Not seen Mathew Potts play so can't comment on his ability. Nothing need to be said on James Anderson and Stuart Board cos they are still our best 2 bowlers and Ben Stokes wants them in the test squad.

Please can anyone with any info please keep posting it. Its good to read. Farke and Carvalhal are the 2 outstanding candidates and upgrade on Mowbray for sure. We need to make this head coach appointment before the end of May. I think Sporting Director role will be filled this week. Just my opinion based on no inside knowledge
