  1. The former Granada head coach Diego Martinez could be next in line for Watford
  2. My match thoughts are the first half we were woeful. Maglorie's position sense and and awareness from shocking poor for a someone playing right back. Pickering should have been marking better for the second goal. Didn't under the Yates's goal celebration to our fans. Very Strange. Our formation was being overrun and we changed it before Gallagher went off. It took him getting injury to give us this formation change to 4-4-2. So on to the second half, We witnessed a much better improved performance with spirit and passion. Where was this first half? But we started 4-4-2 with midfield of Buckley on the right, Travis and Rothwell centre and Edun on the left with Brereton and Dolan up front in a 2. Buckley's cross for Brereton was excellent and he finished it off. I thought Buckley was the Rovers best player from the starting line up and he was our biggest threat of creating chances. Brereton took his goal went and I think he has more than shown that he has the ability to be goalscorer for Rovers and going forward I would like to see him up front more. I thought Dolan was going to score with that header in the latter minutes of the game but it was good save by their keeper Moore. Edun was good yesterday and he impressed me alot. His work rate, effort and he wanted it yesterday. He came closed to scoring and he was constant threat. Would start next game for me. Travis's leadership came through yesterday to the team and he shown his captain's capabilities during the game. Was impressed. I think we deserved a point after that second half much improved performance but we can't give teams a 2 goals start before we started playing. So we got nothing final thing, The Rovers fans never stop backing their players and club yesterday during the game. Such great passion supporters we have On to the non match things. I wasn't keen on the way we enter the stadium in such a cramp and small entrance. Lot of confusion over which entrance we could enter on. I wonder what would happen if they was incident and how fans would get out in timing manner. maybe something people on the fans forum( @only2garnersand @K-Hod) could mention to the club please. Plenty on social media have similar complaints. It was great to see people who I haven't since before pandemic happened. Talking to them, having a pint with them in the pubs around Blackpool. Seeing people enjoying football and drinking in public is such a great sight after this pandemic. Wouldn't be so sure of that
  3. Brereton has 10 goals for the season and he took his goal very well yesterday. Its vital that we get him to sign a new long term deal But don't get involved in contract negotiations tho. The budget is big enough to offer them new improve contracts. Waggott and the club do the contract negotiations Depends what the financial issues are tho.
  4. really Mercer? and you have evidence of this cos this is one heck of claim? Maybe report to me to @K-Hod for this and have you done this? I changed my mind on Mowbray being sack in February 2021. I have praised Mowbray for the good start we had this season and some of the decisions he has made., We are 8th in the league and we have 16 points from 11 games I would have snap your hands off. Then you shouldn't included me in your post really Mercer Yes O'Neill has done a good job at Stoke in the 2 years and overseen a number of players changes and formation. plus cutting the wage bill there.
  5. O'Neill has done a good job there and they deserved their win. Always liked O'Neill has Northern Ireland manager. Achieved some good results there. Why mention Mowbray to me?
  6. He was never coming here in the first place. And no other European club want him either. The fact that he has signed for a club in the A-league tell us he had little interest
  7. Has he ever played at right back tho in his career tho? It was confirmed before even Waggott commented on it. I had confirmed by several good sources that it was Maja. Well no it doesn't cos we could do the same loan deal in January for Maja
  8. Not really. Only light showers and Sunshine is forecast up to kick off but around kick off and during the game could be heavy rain. Moving the best centre midfielder and our driving force from his natural position in Travis would be massive mistake. Johnson ain't going to fit to start the game imo. Maybe as sub. But reading Mowbray's comments I wouldn't be surprised if Lenihan played to be honest.
  9. But you admitted that you don't watch the under 23's so how do you know what the football is like?
  10. Luton beating 3rd place Coventry 5 nil. No-one would have predicted that. After those 3 teams, there is 12 to 14 teams who have similar quality and can beat each other. Rovers are one of those teams
  11. Agree there but he's not had the biggest budget in the summer. Think they need a pacey striker or different type of striker to be honest
  12. Not sure if cause any confusion to be honest but baring in they weren't cutting open regular but 2 poor pieces of defending. Has Edun even played right back? Or trained there? I would kept the back 4 and played Maglorie at right back. Abit harsh on Maglorie but he is 6th choice for a reason. He needs a full season playing regular 1st team football. What was speculation? Maja coming in to sign on loan for us??
  13. Is that a serious question? Maybe check Huddersfield match thread where I posting during the game. Far too early to writing off signings imo
  14. so when Nyambe went off who would have brought on then? or when Rothwell went off? Bring on Khadra and Poveda for Dolan and Gallagher was wrong? Not so sure by that.
  15. fair enough But the change of the formation isn't the reason we lost but 2 poor pieces of defending where we did. Maja was coming in on loan to buy next season when we can due to FFP rules as @Bbrovers2288posted weeks ago. But we can see bring in other loan players but would have sent a loan player back to the parent club if the loan agreement has that in terms of loan deal
  16. Really looking forward to this game and the entire day out should be excellent one with friends I haven't seen in months. I am looking forward to the game and another live game inside a stadium setting. Its look like Lenihan will be out injured and Nyambe is out. So I would set up like this Kaminski Maglorie Carter Ayala Pickering Buckley Travis Rothwell Gallagher Dolan Brereton If Rothwell isn't fit then I would bring in Davenport in or Butterworth into the 10 role and go 4-2-3-1 instead. totally agree Based that we have 16 points on the board and only on Saturday we beat Cardiff 5-1 and produced one of the best performances Ive seen under Mowbray Who is Gunning? Do you not mean Garrett?
  17. Well its down to Mowbray and Players why we have 16 points already on the board and how we have been playing including Cardiff 5-1. Who would you have bought on to shored up the defence barring in mind that Maglorie was already on? We were already playing 3 at the back and that was from when Nyambe went off in the first half when it was nil nil. We lost the game when Rothwell went off and his impact in the game was excellent and his driving runs at the defence from the deeper midfield area is why I like him playing there.
  18. why keep blaming Venkys as they are the ones doing the negotiations? They set the budget in line with FFP rules and other reasons. Yes its Waggott who does the contract negotiations at Rovers but its like that at Most clubs. Brereton should be in line with Dack in terms of wages
  19. Think they need some pace in their team u0p front and it would help Moore up front. Can Cardiff get a better manager in with the budget they have? not so sure by that
  20. Brereton is doing brilliant and pleased he got his 9 goals so far. Plenty to be pleased with his season has got
  21. Really? The formation was 4-2-3-1 formation. Until Nyambe's injury then we went 3 at the back with wing backs and 3 up front. The game changed when Rothwell went off injured. I think your reaction is well OTT in my.opinion. 2 losses in 10 matches. 16 points on the point board and we are still 6th.
  22. Look at Waggott's interview, there is still funds available from the budget he has. Plus you can change the loan signings around by cancelling a couple of them depends on the terms of the loan deals. I disagreed on your last point. Of course we will be competitive on Saturday and I am looking forward to it
