  1. You can blame the head of recruitment if you want but given we after Harvey left and we still have interim Head of recruitment in Glyn Chamberlain but the man who is responsible is Mowbray and he makes the decision the who we sign at the end of day. So is the man to blame for this summer recruitment mess If you want to keep defending Mowbray and Waggott then carry on please but I won't. Mowbray has known for months this situation that Armstrong would move on was coming. So he and his staff should have been planning for months for different shortlist for different prices. Something Mowbray has mention several times himself. As we were in talks with Southampton over the Armstrong deal, Rovers under Waggott and Mowbray leadership should have been putting bids for several transfer targets. Keep having a go at me if you want for suggesting transfer targets and players we could be signing weeks ago if we have a proper recruitment and transfer plan from our 2 management leaders at the club in Waggott and Mowbray. Simms is almost back in transfer and had a good spell at Blackpool last season. Morris was fit 2 weeks ago so we could have signed him before his injury. I've seen Healey's goals on Youtube for MK Dons and Toulouse and he knows the goals are. Dale can play anyway in the front 3. Charles is available for 750k and scores goals. Why not bring in him? I'm sorry to say this but the only reason we won't sign a permanent striker is down to the completely and utter incompetence of Mowbray and Waggott failure to be decisive and do some long term planning in terms of recruitment and scouting. I agree. Would be a good signing and someone I have mention several times. Have you heard anything about any potential signings or interest in players before tomorrow deadline? Wouldn't have signed the Brighton winger at all. Rather use JRC further forward. Can't believe Mowbray and Rovers have gone back for Obafemi. This is one of the main reason I would like a see recruitment and signing decisions taking away and we move to a modern day Football managerial set up of sporting director and head coach structure.
  2. No its called forward planning and making sure we were ready to sign a replacement as soon as Armstrong deal was done. But Mowbray and Rovers wasted 2 weeks chasing a player who has no interest in being here. on your scenario, I want answer from any player as soon as possible and would set a deadline. We have games to players. No clearly its not but we can't be wasting time and effort on players who don;'t want to come to play first team football Good for you then. I rather discuss potential players thats we should have been targets. If you don't want then please bother replying to me thanks. Also how many championship goals did Armstrong before he signed here. That's the point I am making is Rovers and Mowbray would have know for 6 months that Armstrong would have been off last January/ February. Rovers and Mowbray should have been scouting and researching potential replacements. Other teams do it but Rovers and Mowbray haven't and now its costing. Is it so hard to plan. Let him go to these other clubs then. You mention West Brom and Fulham who both signed strikers this past week so why would they need Obafemi. You
  3. Cook getting a lot of money backing and players in. Almost rebuild the squad there. How have the fans react to this changes and the changes at the club overall since the new owners came in?
  4. Haven't I already explained why? Well tell him to hold out for club with promotion ambitions still then or rot as in Southampton under 23s set up. Go and get a permanent striker in who WANTS TO BE HERE
  5. I would say different time and very different manager/owner of the club. Newell was great for our club
  6. I'm not really bothered if they excited you tbh. You can always do your research on players and suggestion you own players. Plenty of data, clips and opinions out there, I hope we don't do the deal for Obafemi at all Yes the scouting Network should have done this and in all honestly they probably did. But its down to Mowbray to decide who he wants and thats why I think he goes against his recruitment like some people have alluded to before
  7. defending Mowbray there. He had 6 months to be planning for a striker replacement. Blimey we all know Armstrong wouldn't be here this season unless we got promotion last season. So for me, the club, Mowbray and Waggott can't have any more excuses. There is loads of good strikers out there we can get a couple of millions pounds or less
  8. If Mowbray and Waggott don't sign a striker then both now sacking asap. You knew for 6 months that Armstrong would leave this season and you should have had a shortlist of targets and players we wanted months ago. Fed up with your bloody excuses. Go and sign a striker who wants to be here and not a kid who turned you down weeks ago.
  9. If he didn't want to come first time then I wouldn't be interested in him.
  10. Having they just signed recently Salford number 1 keeper from last season?
  11. How much do we get if we don't sell at the end of the season for him? I wouldn't be signing him at all. Had his chance and didn't want to come. Time to move on and sign a permanent striker who wants to be here. Plenty out there we could get whether its Simms from Everton, Charles from Stanley, Nisbet from Hibs. I know all thanks Millers as you have post that before and heard from other people. I'm not the biggest fan of him But I do think we should be offering him a better contract. Same as Rothwell who I would be offering a better contract than the one he has been offered. Kenny is suggestion and given his wages and experience at Everton and Celtic we couldn't afford, Maybe a loan. He has less 12 months left on his deal and if we get cash for him now and replacement in then it should be consider.
  12. Without conducting a proper consultation we don't know. Would you buy a season ticket in this new standing area? Not in favour in alienate any supporters then why you need to consult the fans
  13. @Revidge Blue, we have signed 3 players on loan so far and hopefully a couple of permanent signings in the next 37 hours. Well it would be a permanent move surely so its helpful If Nyambe won't sign a new contract surely we need sell and recoup whatever we can get for him. Then look at signing John Joe Kenny from Everton as possible option. When will Mowbray learn to move on and stop chasing him. He doesn't want to come here, When will he learn? Never. They are other strikers out there we could get that would score goals here
  14. Rovers need to engage with fans/season ticket holders whether their would be enough interest in a standing section at Ewood Park and where to position it in the stadium. You wouldn't want to force any season ticket holders from their current seat
  15. Cos people want to get back to watching and supporting their club live within a stadium setting and after the past 18 months of not being allow and pandemic lockdowns do you people for wanting to get back normality
  16. Highlights are on Sunday Morning and each Championship game from weekend has 15 mins highlights on Channel 403. I don't know if these are accessible if you aren't Sky Sports subscriber tho on the Sky Sports website
  17. We need a striker in but a Rhodes type isn't what we need. We need a striker with pace and can finish. Rovers should have idenfity who this player/shortlist is and should have had one by now. well Rovers and Mowbray wanted Obafemi and spent 2 weeks chasing him and after agreeing a fee supposedly we never have a chat with him. We wasted 2 weeks there chasing a player we never were going to get. Rovers should have a replacement line up if not ready to sign here when the Armstrong deal was done and confirm. Now we 2 and half weeks on we still have no permanent striker in to replace.
  18. I don't think we are Miller11 as such. Just look at how many players we have in our squad that have come through our academy/under 23's structure. Nyambe, Lenihan, Wharton, Carter, Travis, Buckley, Rankin-Costello. Now, I am not a huge fan of signing alot of loan players and would prefer just a couple of them but if they help us this season and stay up and finish mid table then its just job done. I would prefer a couple permanent signings before the deadline on Tuesday 11pm but its look like just one with 2 more loan signings but Maybe if Mowbray had managed his signings much better and signed better over the last 2 years we might not be in this mess. Also do you agree that Vale and McBride would benefit us more long term by having a full season at league 1 or 2 playing regular first team football instead of the under 23's Brereton has scored 3 goals and Gallagher 2 goals in our first 5 games and we got 8 points on the board and are mid table. I think we need a striker who has pace as the permanent striker signing. Don't need a Rhodes type striker
  19. Time the EFL banned the towel used by WBA for long throwings. I think Jokanovic will walk away from Sheffield United shortly after his outburst yesterday post match. Wonder if he will get his signings he wants. less than 3 days of the transfer windows and many teams are chasing 2, 3 or 4 signings. Going to be busy time. Reading doing so badly is to be expect when you look at lack of signings there so far and how small their squad is
  20. This is correct and you can see this clearly on the Sky Sports 15 mins highlights of the game
  21. Yes. Don't know who the player is but hopefully its the permenant striker we need going forward to challenge Gallagher for that 9 role Welcome to the club Van Hecke I can see him playing more at right back especially if Nyambe isn't fit going forward. Yes he is tall defender so should help us defensively and attacking wise from set pieces. Carter is here for the long term and he will be solid defender for us. And I want him here for this season and playing his part
  22. Nicko says we have an offer for a striker. Offer is abit low than the selling club wants
