  1. Won't that press conference be tomorrow and just the normal pre match interview? Plus given the social media world we need live in, clubs have their own social media channels compare to 20 years ago. Plus apart from the LT and BBC Lancs who else would be there?
  2. What an utter and completely over reaction by some to Ismael's letter where he trying to forge a connection with the fan based. Just like JDT and Eustace did. What is people problem.
  3. I know you can't do anything but focus on these possible red flags like you did all the time. Your own choice who also them given Luton position in the bottom 3. No red flags or risks when he left but you have no problem backing him for the job. Sacked in the playoffs and 9th. Watford is shit show given they had 9 head coaches in 4 and half years. Plus WBA sacking 2 managers in the playoffs. FFS. Maybe both clubs should have shown some patience and not be so trigger happy. I told you my concerns yesterday. What more do you want?
  4. He had a plan B against us when losing 1 nil bringing on 2 strikers and won the game 2-1 And won th9th in the league is his least successful spell. Hardly ground breaking is it. FFS It's allow Rovers management time to interview and recruit the right candidate to be our next head coach. What don't you understand?
  5. He played 3 at the back at Barnsley and WBA but at Watford he played 4-2-3-1 formation and mixed style of play. He is tactical adaptable depending the players he has.
  6. Happy with this appointment overall, He knows this league very well, been n the playoffs place before, adaptable tactically depending on the players he has, Disciplinarian' off the pitch and form a leadership group of senior players. (The last 2 points I've posted is mentioned in Elliot Jackson article on him). This appointment seems for the short term, but also the medium and long term given he has been a 3 and half season. Lets hope he can get us a playoff place. People will mentioned his times at WBA and Watford and being sacked there, but lets look at when they sacked him, they weren't in poor league position or facing relegation battle. they were in 5th and 9th FFS. I wish him all the best @MarkBRFC, you mentioned in the other thread why Gestede and Owen were involved in the head coach selection and what experience they have. I would say that given their role at Rovers, they will have massive say on this appointment along with Pasha and Waggott, but also making sure they can work together as a team. Owen has alot of football experience with football, Gestede whilst in his first football role, This is his first big decision in his role. @lraCyou mention this in the other thread, so why not have someone lined up with time too, especially with the prize on offer. Whilst I get the understanding of what you mean, Given that Eustace was still technically here when we won at WBA game and Plymouth game under Lowe, it bought Rovers should time to interview candidates and from Alan Nixon has said in his reporting of the situation, it appears that the loss on Saturday speeded up the process of bring in the new head coach. Why didn't we have a mini shortlist of replacement to go, maybe we did or we didn't, I can't really answered that one, maybe we had 2 or 3 potential targets but none wanted to come form different reasons or Rovers wanted to go down interview process like a few Championship clubs have done this season. The honest answer is I don't know
  7. No. In my opinion, Waggott took control of the manager situation before that QPR game and in my opinion Eustace was interviewed and got the job. GB wasn't involved in that process. Sidelined in my opinion. I dont think anyone expected him to leave for Derby. Plus also Gestede and Owen also have a big say in this current head coach appointment in my opinion. Also Lowe winning back to back gave Rovers time to speak to a number of candidates before finalise their choice.
  8. Firstly, we were facing relegation under JDT, Maybe Rovers talk to other people, just didn't leak out. Plus other factors in my opinion A football club is at the end of the dag a business and it needs to be run like that.
  9. Exactly Paul, thats how it is works
  10. 1 or 2. Whitehead was his number 2 at Watford. He is out of work so I think he will come in as number 2
  11. Most head coaches bring 1 or 2 staff with them. They don't have entire staff to bring with them.
  12. Good crossers for their goal though from BBD. I thought Leeds took over the game
  13. Also his work permit from Watford time in charge is still valid. Also says Ismael will only bring a couple of backroom staff with him and all of them are available. Also our entire squad isn't out within the next 15 months
  14. Leeds fantastic second half and proven why they are the best in this league
  15. You asked my if I had any concerns about Ismael and now you are asking me similar way but just a different way. My original answer "Concerns not at this stage until you see what impact he has here, what formation he plays and whether the players response to his man management skills plus what his backroom staff is. " "no one can be 100% sure that X is the perfect man for the job, you have an opinion, like I was confident Hughes would be the right fit for us after he took over from Souness or when Ince was appointed, I just didn't think that was right appointment. I had doubts when we appointed Souness but he proved me wrong. Sometimes you have a feel whether it feel right or wrong, Just like when you hiring staff in a normal job. You see the CV and you have a feel and then you interview then and see whether it backed up your initial opinion or not" maybe if West Brom and Watford had shown some patience then he might have deliver for them. Sacking him when in the top 6 is laughable for me but they did the same with Darren Moore, did WBA ever get the promote? 🙄
  16. They were in the top 6 and sacked another one like they did with Darren Moore, did that sacking achieve promotion then? I am happy with this appointment for these reasons, experience of championship as head coach, played 4-2-3-1 formation at Watford plus more of head coach than manager which suits our structure. Concerns not at this stage until you see what impact he has here, what formation he plays and whether the players response to his man management skills plus what his backroom staff is. so who was you really expect us to appoint? Even your own choice of Rob Edwards has had failures on his CV including a short stint at Watford who have 9 permanent head coach in 4 and half seasons, but you consider him a downgraded on Eustace even tho he has promotion from this league to PL which Eustace doesn't have yet on his CV no one can be 100% sure that X is the perfect man for the job, you have an opinion, like I was confident Hughes would be the right fit for us after he took over from Souness or when Ince was appointed, I just didn't think that was right appointment. I had doubts when we appointed Souness but he proved me wrong. Sometimes you have a feel whether it feel right or wrong, Just like when you hiring staff in a normal job. You see the CV and you have a feel and then you interview then and see whether it backed up your initial opinion or not
  17. I'm not at the game sadly tonight. I'm sure Arbitro will give his match report after the game like most games
  18. Supporters views will change like the wind direction and I see people on social media starting to question Eustace's position cos we hadn't won for a few games. WBA have form for sacking head coaches when in the playoffs place cos they did it to Darren Moore before, then Ismael Watford have had 9 head coaches in 4 and half seasons. did well to last 9 months there I mentioned his name after Eustace left as he was out of work, experience of championship, played 4-2-3-1 formation at Watford plus more of head coach than manager which suits our structure I have accept that but I will take that you would have reservations if we appoint a Damien Duff or Rob Edwards, is that fair comment? Not trying to do that but actually put facts out there showing that isn't what some people(not yourself) thinking this is cheap appointment agreed
  19. Ohashi played 45 mins and off
  20. Or maybe he get more of chance here. He was sacked at WBA when in the top 6 and Watford when they were 9th. Hardly shocking are they. Have both clubs done any better after he left those clubs? Not really
  21. He previously played for under 21's
  22. Not for me. these people consider them PL manager/coaches or want to take time out of the game, or in Gerrard case, tax reasons he needs to sort out his work permit first
  23. Maybe give some people some thought over their original opinion of it being a poor choice or cheap choice
