  1. Currently on Travis's stag do in Las Vegas.
  2. Clubs want more Revenue from TV rights and there is only one way to do this plus football isn't just Saturday 3pm sport anymore. PL is a global brand and why it's the best league in the world There is 7 EFL 12.30 kick off normally plus Friday night game On PL, with 8 PL teams in Europe including possibly 6 teams in the champions league, games were be moved around. Exactly my points Eddie. Teams come up but don't invest in PL Quality but top end Championship quality instead. But did Ipswich spent it on PL quality? 15m for Muric? Was he worth all that money? Hutchinson for 20m? Delap has proven he was worth and now looks off to Utd in the summer.
  3. I have in the past attending plenty of under 21's game and I like seeing what talent we are producing there. I watched Travis there and I thought he is one to keep a deffo on You misinterpreted what he said. Never set any such target as you said so you were wrong but instead of admitting it you digging a big hole. We are talking a 3 young players in 25 man squad. Nothing massive. Duru, Montgomery and Tyjon in the squad. Yes I follow what GB and JDT did with having 5/6 quality young players training with first team. What is wrong with that approach? Nothing, we have category 1 academy so we should bringing our good young players I have said bringing through our players from Academy is something we should. Said it 3 years ago to you. It's an open fourm Cost cutting? The wage budget is roughly the same. So no cost cutting has happened. We have cat 1 academy so we should be producing own our players like we done in the past.
  4. Did Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton in PL quality players last summer in order to stay up? No they didn't. Was Cooper or Van Nistorlooy the right appointment for Leicester? No TV deals has increased cos of demand whether its Football or Darts or F1. Fans want to watch live sport. If they were to demand, TV Companies won't invest and buy their rights.
  5. Gestede's actual comments about this supposedly target minutes that @roversfan99 has said. "What we have seen in the last year, the minutes played by our Academy players has dropped drastically. We used to be over 2,000 minutes for Under-23 Academy players. Last 12 months, 142 minutes. "That affects the value of the asset and we want to go back to that model. That was part of the discussions with Valerien. They have to be part of your squad planning. So he set no target of minutes for youth players just that Rovers want to go back bringing through young players ready. Do you accept @roversfan99 you were wrong to suggest that they was "arbitrary target" for minutes for our young players and of 3,000 minutes?
  6. Tyjon is highly regarded and shouldn't we bring him through? @roversfan99do you think Montgomery is ready to be part of our first team squad next season?
  7. Nixon's latest lies? He has reported Rovers have an option to buy him for 1m and Rovers haven't made their mind yet, so how is that lies?
  8. Did Ipswich spend money on proven PL quality? Did Burnley or Southampton? Tv deals keep growth cos demand is there for fans to watch it and that Premier League is the best league in the world and fans want to watch it. Fans inconvience? Well it's been like that for many years. You weren't saying when we were in Europe under Hughes and playing Thursday nights then Sunday in the premier league. Football is moving more and more away from just Saturday 3pm kick off game whilst it cos of TV or teams playing in Europe.. On clubs going more and more in debt point, clubs owners are covering it and i believe if an owner want to spend their own money on a club to get promote and to the PL or winning the PL then it should be allow and welcome. Would we won the PL in 94/95 if these FFP Rules had been around back then. Owners are chasing/wanting promotion and PL football even just for 1 season. Ticket prices? Issue been discussed to the hilt on here and everywhere.
  9. Where has Gestede set a target for minutes for academy players @roversfan99? Montgomery did more than enough in his game time to show what he is about not his first choice position but has the energy for a full back role
  10. Agree, but no one has said just bring through young players for the sake of it. Kristi Montgomery has proved he s worthy of first team squad player, how many of us knew that 3 months ago. I didn't
  11. the quality of the mid table teams has improved over recent years and the amount they will spend on transfers. Teams coming up like Ipswich and Burnley are spending big money but not on proven PL quality. Ipswich spend big on Delap and its worked out for him and he will move to bigger club, rumours are Manchester United move now. Ipswich have build a squad that should win the Championship next season. Leicester losing their head coach and appoint Cooper but limited spending. Southampton spent alot also but there approach seem a scattering gun approach to transfers. Will be interesting to see Who Leicester and Southampton appoint as their new head coach for the championship campaign. not sure the whole pyramid is fucked as suggested either but clubs spent more than previous and with more foreign owners and they want success and quick, and will try spend to get that. It was only 4 years ago that Stockport County were in the national league and winning that league, now possibly 2 games of being a Championship club again. Barrow AFC having the success they have in recent years or Salford under the class of the 92 until the last 5 years when they have been stuck in league 2 and can't get promotion. Now been takeover by Neville and Beckham with a few businessman to rebuild and invest more into the club to get promotion and get the championship. Think were they were before the class of 92 bought them
  12. Probably not but they have talent we want to see coming through hence why Rovers have signed them on 2 years contracts and option. Tyjon and Montgomery will be more part of this squad going forward and we should be developing our own players and bringing through if good enough. 6 games for Altrincham is what you basing this on? given we know nothing apart he joined them for the final 6 games. We need to do much better picking clubs for our young players to join. Garrett 2 loans spells were a disaster for him and us. where did you say this? in the interview with Elliott Jackson he mentioned about us going back to bringing through more young players into the first team and he mentioned how many minutes they played under JDT which was around 2,000 minutes and trying to get back to those minutes if players are there
  13. I wouldn't want him now, last summer I did but its not the type of striker/forward I think we need. We need pace in the team. We won't get much for Joe Boggan, minimum fee especially if he goes overseas.
  14. my reply wasn't towards you Matty! The European competitions need a small revamp and what they are actually about. When you are knock out of one of competition you shouldn't enter another one
  15. I can't say that has been my experience when speaking or emailing people at Rovers. Good advice if you only attend to Saturday 3pm kick off aswell
  16. Fulham, Brentford and Brighton fully deserved to in the PL and they should be The Champions League format can't/won't be change of the power of bigger clubs but UEFA don't want that change either. I would prefer it straight knock out competition over 2 legs but never going to happened. The cups winners should be in their own version of European cup competition and the runner ups of the competitions should qualify for Europe not revert to the league position.
  17. Ethan Erhahon has established himself as a key figure in Lincoln City’s midfield since arriving from St. Mirren in the 2022–23 season. Last weekend, he featured prominently once again, anchoring The Imps’ midfield in their clash with League One runners-up Wrexham. This scouting report analyses his performance using match event data and more traditional holistic scouting techniques. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jamie-witcher_ethan-erhahon-scout-reort-vs-wrexham-ugcPost-7326523925079760896-QBNI?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABn0IYMBLGIiqOXNyXoCW1hj0cQfcSt26ec
  18. FA cup isn't a league format and that what you qualify for the champions league for. Not for cup winners, which is what the conference Europe league should be there for. Also Palace should qualify for Europe given they have reach the FA cup, it shouldn't revert back to the league if City win the FA cup
  19. I have rephased my comments do you want to be upsetting you Matty do we?
  20. Same old comments from the same people. Its get abit tiring seeing it time after time.
  21. So you keep saying. Riis 12 goals this season and Woodman is a good keeper at this level. They will missed both of them badly
  22. All based on my opinion RF99. I think we will look for players from a range of different markets to sign. I dont think we stick to one market.
  23. Anyone watch Mobland? Is it worth watching?.
  24. Armstrong was sold and the training ground was sold to help us meet FFP requirements as the Armstrong money wasnt enough to not get embargo or restrictions on signings. the year after we had a surplus/budget for few signings hence those 3 good signings made
