Championship Season 2020 - 2021

Yes finally the transfer window is getting going. But Alot of teams still need more signings. Plenty of loans still to happen Brentford will lose Watkins and Benrahma before the window close cos Villa are interest. Still expect a fire sale at Bournemouth and Watford to happen. Forest have done good business I didn't know that Preston haven't made a signing so far. -

QPR needed a few attacking signings before the dealine. They did signed Dykes from Scottish Football but you can't be expecting him to score more than 10 goals this coming season -
won't he be 1st choice since they don't have a senior on their books unless another one is coming in?

Looks like new shirt will be unveil tomorrow. Hopefully we will find out who the new main shirt sponsor

I wouldn't most of the rumours on twitter are BS. There is few people on there claiming to north west reporters or journalist. So if there is a reliable source on twitter who has linked Armstrong to another club can you please post them? How much of Kipre have you seen? and what type of defender is he and what are are best attributes? What rumours and where from? Yes still available. But if we are signing Sarr then we wont need Lindsay.

exactly, This is one of the problems with Modern day football. I highlighted John Egan and John O'Connell of football who drop down a level or 2 to play regular 1st team football and now look at the pair now playing regular premier league level football. How is it U-turn? when Sharpe reported that we agreed a fee with Wigan for Kipre we were in pole position but since yesterday morning things have change and PL club in West Brom have turned their attention to him cos they appear not to be able to bring in the 1st choice in Duffy. why would you and over pay for a player and give money to club who will have to drop their asking price cos of the bills at the club in administration? Plus why used more of the budget up when you still need another 3 or 4 players? Well lets hope we get rid of him cos he will never play again for this club.

Stop going on mitigating circumstances as most championship clubs are facing similar situations. Rovers are spending money even its not millions after millions. But there is players out there who will improve our squad. I can't see him being 1st choice at West Brom. Ajayi and Bartley will start the season. Does he want to be on the bench at his age or playing proper game time. Egan and O'Connell both drop down to league 1 level to playing regular 1st football instead of not. Now both PL players

Depends on his own situation which none of us know You were the one who claimed him to be top 6 team defender than back track didn't you, so which is it since you know so much of the player? Its seems WBA wanted other centre defenders after being to 2 today so its seems that Kipre isn't first choice.
-
Sounds like WBA still haven't bid for Kipre yet and would he even play regular there. Surely he would want to play regular and its seems like Shane Duffy is their 1st target and with Dunk, White, Burn and Webster all ahead of him at Brighton that Duffy will move on. Also was the WBA link leaked so thats Rovers would agree to Kipre's wage demands quickly to secure the deal? Which wouldn't surprise me I have no idea on Kipre's ability as he only seen him against us. But 900k fee does seem a good deal judging by comments on here and other social sites. No idea who the second defender is we are chasing.
-
But I haven't watched the video tho. I posted it for other Rovers fans who might be interested in his past performances. I haven't listen to the Radio Lancashire interview either

For people who want to know about his time in Belgium and the type of keeper he is from.Belgian football expert

What are Kipre's best attributes and worst attributes? Does he have pace?

@RovingRover has said we have been looking at him for quite some way. He said he one of his prime targets for that position. Rovers and Mowbray would have had 5 or 6 names on each list depending on price for keeper slot. So for example, list A is 1 mil and below, list B is free transfers, list c is loan, etc. That's how football works

Transfers came take a long time to get everything sorted. Here is Mowbray's comment confirming he was long term target of ours "He's been a prime target of ours in that position for quite some time, we've worked hard to try and make it happen, and here he is."

Mowbray's comments after we signed Kaminski back your post. Mowbray's comments are in the Kaminski thread

Tony Mowbray couldn't hide his delight after making his first move in the summer transfer window with the capture of experienced goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski. The stopper touched down in the UK to pen a two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, to become the first ever Belgian to represent Rovers. With a glittering CV that has seen the 27-year-old play in both the Champions League and Europa League, the capture of Kaminski looks something of a real coup for Rovers. Arriving from KAA Gent, who finished runners-up in the top tier of Belgian football last term, Kaminski has twice won the Belgian Pro League with Anderlecht before lifting the Danish Superliga during a season on loan with FC Copenhagen. Kaminski appeared in all 14 of Gent's Europa League outings in 2019-20, which ended in a narrow defeat to Italian giants Roma over two legs. And speaking after finally landing his man, Mowbray was understandably thrilled that the hard work had paid off for Rovers. “I'm very happy after what's been a tough week or two to get everything done," the beaming boss admitted to iFollow Rovers. “He's been a prime target of ours in that position for quite some time, we've worked hard to try and make it happen, and here he is. “He's coming from a foreign country, he'll need to relocate with his wife and young child, he doesn't know any of our players or how we play, but he has all the attributes and assets to be a very successful goalkeeper for our football club. “There's lots of aspects I like about Thomas. His experience is very pertinent, he's played in both the Champions League and Europa League, he's won leagues with Anderlecht and came very close with Gent, and he's played a lot of football. “He's a good size, a good stature and is a modern goalkeeper who distributes the ball really well. “As he knows, his first job is to keep the ball out of the net, as it is with all goalkeepers, but with the way we want to play, he certainly fits the criteria of what we want from our goalkeepers moving forward," Mowbray added. “We're hoping that Thomas will come and do the job for us, and although the little complications of moving to another country and acclimatising will take some time, I'm very confident that the experienced he has will help our team. “I had long chats with him on the phone before he flew over to England. I've watched a lot of him and we just hope he can bring everything from what we've seen to our team. “Hopefully he starts well, hopefully he grows in confidence and can help the team keep lots of clean sheets and win games. “He's mature, he's a nice guy and seems very relaxed and assured in his own abilities, so let's hope he can take that onto the pitch for us. We'll be supporting him all the way." Despite the fact that Kaminski will be unavailable for the short-term, the boss is certain that the new stopper will prove to be a big part of the furniture for Rovers for the long-term. “The world we're living in, we need to abide by the rules," Mowbray admitted. "He's here for hopefully an extended period of success with this football club, so we won't worry about a couple of weeks where he'll have to quarantine. “That period will be gone before we know it and he'll be in training with the team and be a big part of life in our squad and in our culture.” https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/august/boss-beaming-to-land-prime-target/

how do you know it less than a million?
-
Thats a fair point. He is never going to be regular at Liverpool tho. Another player who will barely played any first team at 25/26. Needs proper football. Egan and O'Connell both left their clubs(Sunderland and Rovers) in search of regular football. Now both regular PL players Can't see it being Ayala due to wage demands. You mention Van Der Hoorn before didn't you? could it him?

Mulgrew played 45 mins for under 23's against Stanley. So not going to play for us. Luetwiler played in that game for Stanley. I wonder if we move for Nathan Phillips from Liverpool. Centre back
