@RovingRover has said we have been looking at him for quite some way. He said he one of his prime targets for that position. Rovers and Mowbray would have had 5 or 6 names on each list depending on price for keeper slot. So for example, list A is 1 mil and below, list B is free transfers, list c is loan, etc. That's how football works

Transfers came take a long time to get everything sorted. Here is Mowbray's comment confirming he was long term target of ours "He's been a prime target of ours in that position for quite some time, we've worked hard to try and make it happen, and here he is."

Mowbray's comments after we signed Kaminski back your post. Mowbray's comments are in the Kaminski thread

Tony Mowbray couldn't hide his delight after making his first move in the summer transfer window with the capture of experienced goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski. The stopper touched down in the UK to pen a two-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, to become the first ever Belgian to represent Rovers. With a glittering CV that has seen the 27-year-old play in both the Champions League and Europa League, the capture of Kaminski looks something of a real coup for Rovers. Arriving from KAA Gent, who finished runners-up in the top tier of Belgian football last term, Kaminski has twice won the Belgian Pro League with Anderlecht before lifting the Danish Superliga during a season on loan with FC Copenhagen. Kaminski appeared in all 14 of Gent's Europa League outings in 2019-20, which ended in a narrow defeat to Italian giants Roma over two legs. And speaking after finally landing his man, Mowbray was understandably thrilled that the hard work had paid off for Rovers. “I'm very happy after what's been a tough week or two to get everything done," the beaming boss admitted to iFollow Rovers. “He's been a prime target of ours in that position for quite some time, we've worked hard to try and make it happen, and here he is. “He's coming from a foreign country, he'll need to relocate with his wife and young child, he doesn't know any of our players or how we play, but he has all the attributes and assets to be a very successful goalkeeper for our football club. “There's lots of aspects I like about Thomas. His experience is very pertinent, he's played in both the Champions League and Europa League, he's won leagues with Anderlecht and came very close with Gent, and he's played a lot of football. “He's a good size, a good stature and is a modern goalkeeper who distributes the ball really well. “As he knows, his first job is to keep the ball out of the net, as it is with all goalkeepers, but with the way we want to play, he certainly fits the criteria of what we want from our goalkeepers moving forward," Mowbray added. “We're hoping that Thomas will come and do the job for us, and although the little complications of moving to another country and acclimatising will take some time, I'm very confident that the experienced he has will help our team. “I had long chats with him on the phone before he flew over to England. I've watched a lot of him and we just hope he can bring everything from what we've seen to our team. “Hopefully he starts well, hopefully he grows in confidence and can help the team keep lots of clean sheets and win games. “He's mature, he's a nice guy and seems very relaxed and assured in his own abilities, so let's hope he can take that onto the pitch for us. We'll be supporting him all the way." Despite the fact that Kaminski will be unavailable for the short-term, the boss is certain that the new stopper will prove to be a big part of the furniture for Rovers for the long-term. “The world we're living in, we need to abide by the rules," Mowbray admitted. "He's here for hopefully an extended period of success with this football club, so we won't worry about a couple of weeks where he'll have to quarantine. “That period will be gone before we know it and he'll be in training with the team and be a big part of life in our squad and in our culture.” https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/august/boss-beaming-to-land-prime-target/

how do you know it less than a million?
-
Thats a fair point. He is never going to be regular at Liverpool tho. Another player who will barely played any first team at 25/26. Needs proper football. Egan and O'Connell both left their clubs(Sunderland and Rovers) in search of regular football. Now both regular PL players Can't see it being Ayala due to wage demands. You mention Van Der Hoorn before didn't you? could it him?

Mulgrew played 45 mins for under 23's against Stanley. So not going to play for us. Luetwiler played in that game for Stanley. I wonder if we move for Nathan Phillips from Liverpool. Centre back

I did scroll but when there is so many screenshots of comments its pretty clear what their comments was about. Aint rocket science is it? ? Me and him are discussing Rovers related issues so what's the problem. I like the poster but on some topics we disagree but discussed them in good honest open manner. isn't that what the forum is about? to discuss Rovers related issues

I do scroll every time. Another one of false claims thats I know someone who supports every club. But when you work outside of Blackburn/East Lancashire like I have done in the past 10 years you meet and talk to different team football fans and have discussions with them But unless you play Chapman or Rankin Costello you will never know. So why keep signings more squad players when we might have that player already in the squad that is the answer, he just needs proper game time. Why keep signings players for the sake of it. But you won't get a Dolan or Vale coming through if you block their path by signing another squad player. On Chapman, you keep mentioning so much, you came across that he was the answer the wide problem when in fact you are unconvinced despite several of people on here who seen his performances for the Under 23's were reporting on here that he wasn't performing good enough or had a poor attitude We have Armstrong or Gallagher or Brereton or Vale who can for the 9 role. wide right role we have Brereton, Rothwell, Chapman, Rankin Costello, Butterworth, Dolan. Would you not concede that we have enough players for those 3 forward roles.

I do scroll past every time but my comments that you placed far too emphasis on other teams fans opinions on players who has left them. You never learn from last summer fans opinions. And the only way these players will get more experience by playing them and not blocking their pathway by signing another squad player even on loan. Give them a chance. Of course you are blocking their pathway if you can just signing squad players. We have enough players in the final third. We need to sign 3 defenders and back up keeper. and I wouldn't be happy if we sign another attacking player as I feel we have enough in that area at the present time. If we lose a couple to injury then revisit the situation but we have enough. Use our Talent players We sort out Dack role when he is fit enough to play for 1st team not now when you is weeks away from playing regular for us. He might have to adapt his game to suit the team. You can't bank on anyone. You moan game after game about Chapman not being a chance and now you want to winger to block his way into the team by signing another wide player. How strange and weird is that? So which one is it? Give Rankin Costello and Chapman a chance for that wide left role or block their path. I think with the talent youngsters we have got currently why not give them the perfect opportunity to play football in the 1st team I have said how I would set up for the front 3 against Bournemouth which doesn't include Gallagher from the start so wrong Thomas. Have a few friends who support other football teams. Nothing wrong with that

Season Tickets 2020-21
chaddyrovers replied to Scotland1's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I am hoping that we received some info this week about season tickets and how Rovers will do this. After last night problems with watching the game I can't be assed with Ifollow or inplayer anymore. Lets just get back to watching football inside a stadium as safely as we can. -
He looks a good signing on paper and hopefully he turns out like that
-
He placed far too fact and emphasis on other fans opinions on players. Why I don't know
-
You want to reign in expectations of him. I haven't said I expect him to play an important role tho I said he is performing and confidence then play him. I don't see the point in blocking the pathway into the first team of our talent youngsters at this stage. People moan we don't get youngsters a go and now we have a perfect opportunity with Rankin Costello, Chapman, Dolan, Vale then people want to bring in another squad player who will block their path way. I would say give them their go now. Its the right time to do so You will only now if he weaken and is miss by the season end position in May not now. We are playing differently without him. He had his chance to be part of this season squad and so far rejected coming back. Yes he was good player last season for us. Thats the past now.

Please could you explain How is Thomas Kaminski not experience with over 300 league games and games in Belgium top division and last year Europa League?
-
Have you read Mowbray's comments after last night game about we are closing in on more? Holtby playing as 3 man centre midfield seems to work at the minute? Maybe not having Downing will help us to terms of quickest of play and not slow it so much in terms of tempo of play. Looking at for opening day fixture I would be start with Brereton on the right of front 3 and Armstrong centre with either Rothwell or Rankin Costello or Chapman or Dolan on the left. Thats left position is available, down to one to grab it. You mention who can bring off the bench well Gallagher would be option along as who missed out for left position. (I am basing it 7 subs per bench and 3 allow on pitch not the stupid 5 subs). Plus Jack Vale Why can't you expect Dolan to break through this season? He is performing and full of confidence then play him. I don't see the point in wasting money on back up striker we have so much talent available who could fill that void. Give them their chances. Well Lewis Travis took to Championship football like a duck to water. Me and few others(Stuart and ParsonBlue) who watched him for under 23's knew he had enough about his game to have the ability to cope and perform at this level.

Delighted we have Thomas Kaminski in. Looks good signing given his experience had in his career. Hoping we still 1 or 2 more in before the weekend
-
We announce Thomas Kaminski transfer by tomorrow. And hopefully a couple more by weekend judging by Mowbray's comments. Some clubs are struggling to be players like Warnock at Boro or Karanka at Birmingham
