  1. The outcome has been decided by the EFL clubs having a vote on how to end the season. Yes it is far from ideal just like null and voiding the season is unfair to the clubs who would have gone up without this coronavirus pandemic hitting the country. I wonder if you would have the same opinion had Rovers been top of the league and 12 points clear of 3rd place with 9 games to go you would have suggest null and avoiding the season then? I bet not
  2. How am I wrong when we haven't got to next season yet? Lets see what happens in the future. But lets get this season finish 1st
  3. The teams have had a democratic vote and choose the way they did to end the season. Instead of saying it should be null and void still. Teams have voted the way they have. Are you going to accept that teams have a democratic vote on how to finish the season and they chose to end the season on PPG system? The Championship teams had a vote along with teams from league 1 and 2 clubs today and chose the proposal from the EFL. They could have chose other proposals on the table from the 5 teams who put them forward. But they didn't. I always wanted to finish the season when it was safe enough to do so. But some clubs in league 1 and 2 didn't want to restart the season when they have nothing to play cos they are comfortable mid table and have furlough the players until their contracts run out or coming back when we know when pre season will start next season so costs are well down.
  4. I would imagine he has watched the YouTube of training. I am happy that's we have 3 good talents players coming through and we look like we have more good prospects coming there. Very pleased that Carter and Thompson new deals
  5. So I was right that I said few weeks ago we need to look after our lower leagues financially and that some clubs could go bust. The FA can afford to give some lower clubs grants or possible loans. We aren't into next season yet Matty. We need to finish this season and see which teams are getting promote 1st. Its looking like season wont start before Mid October time.
  6. Its not the FA view who had a say on the EFL promotion and relegation here so you are wrong on this. The clubs from league 1 and 2 had a vote and they vote they will the did. You seem to not want to accept what they clubs owners decide democratically is it fair that Swindon or Crewe don't go up after playing so well all season and being in the top 2 before this Coronavirus pandemic hot the country that is out of their control? it is fair that they don't go up due to other teams in that league are unwilling to unfurlough their players to due cost reasons and no incentive to return. You have used Wycombe as an example but Wycombe have spent the most weeks in the top 2 this season of any club in the league
  7. From Today EFL Statement Following a vote on each by all 71 Clubs, it was overwhelmingly agreed (by a majority of all Clubs and a majority in the Championship) to adopt the EFL Board’s proposal into EFL Regulations, which now means the following applies in the event a division curtails its 2019/20 season or it is ended by any other means. Final divisional placings will be determined on unweighted points per game (if required). Promotion and relegation should be retained. Play-Offs will be played in all circumstances but will not be extended (beyond four teams). So the clubs have a vote and decided the proposal from EFL and rejected the proposals from Ipswich, Lincoln, Stevenage, Barnsley and Tranmere. Then clubs in league 1 and 2 had vote on the EFL proposals. And they voted on them and ended the season on PPG
  8. Clubs made different proposals like Peterborough or Tranmere. Most clubs didnt vote to play. 18 clubs vote to finish the season on PPG system. Is it ideal? No. But clubs didnt want to unfurlough their players due to costs issues. Which I can understand. 4 teams in playoffs. Hope Fleetwood or Wycombe come up tbh through the playoffs.
  9. Mention Clubs going bust on 22nd April, is the link to my post on this The FA could offer grants from their budget to league 1 and 2 clubs IMO looking at their financial reports online
  10. Matty I posted many weeks ago(around 6nor 7 weeks ago) about the EFL clubs in league 1 and 2 would need to survive. I've never said otherwise..
  11. The EFL would need to go the Government and Treasury and ask for the loans. Other businesses are doing it. Otherwise they go bust.
  12. As Fleetwood owner made the point this morning his other businesses have taken a hit through this pandemic. So the money he would have isnt there. The government could offer a bail out for each clubs with repayments options over 3 or 4 years period. Some clubs wont need a bail out and some will. The PL and FA should be helping the League 1 and 2 clubs out with funding and loans. Pilley mentioned the PFA this morning. Salary cap will have to come in league 1 and 2 for clubs to survive. The league 1 vote 18 to 4 to finish the season on Points Per Game basis with 4 teams in playoffs and 3 teams going down. 1 team didnt vote due to no internet
  13. Hayden Carter and Lewis Thompson have signed contracts now.
  14. well if you listened to Fleetwood owner this morning on Sky Sports football show he mention that they would need help to survive next season whether this was a Government loan or bigger payment from the PL, PFA help. He is also in favour of a Salary cap coming in place. I agree with @Mashed Potatoes post on his 3 ideas. I think Salary cap should come in place for League 1 and 2 clubs. But I also think that if Owners of clubs are willing to invested in their clubs with their own money and not borrowing money from banks then they should be allow.
  15. The league 1 clubs voted for what they want. The majority of league 1 clubs voted the reasons they did. Yes they are losing and winners for this. I don't know if you saw Fleetwood owner on the football show on Sky Sports this morning who was talking about how he would vote and why. Plus he discuss his club's budgets for next season and he said he would be cutting the budget for next season by 20 to the 30 percent. Yes its not be overall fair but the clubs made a choice now by a democracy vote. I would imagine that Sunderland and Peterborough aren't happy with the current situation or the outcome of the vote.
  16. Promotion and relegation will happen in EFL this season whether they carry on or not
  17. Isn't he working with England youth teams?
  18. Well of course he back training with Cardiff. Why wouldn't be? Looking like the transfer window will be Mid/Late August to End of October from reports on Sky Sports
  19. Yes I read the Monk's Quotes. But Clotet was Monk's number 2 at Swansea, Leeds and Birmingham. So only became a problem only at Birmingham. So if people warned him why did he appoint him 3 times as number 2 then?
  20. well reading a few articles about him stepping down, it appears that his family is in Spain so I do wonder if he has step down for family reasons. Did he stabbed Monk in the back? Monk say so but Clotet has said he didn't. It does seems that Monk and the Birmingham owners had disagreements over playing style, bringing in players and transfer budget. Clotet did bring through 6 Academy players, but some signings haven't work out but I don't think Clotet had the final say on signings there. Will Birmingham go foreign head coach or British manager. Big decision for them.
  21. very surprise that Clotet is leaving. Birmingham owners are looking for the 7th managers under the current owners. So far they had Rowett, Zola, Redknapp, Cotterill, Monk and Clotet. Where they go now for the next boss will be interesting.
  22. Sky Sports hasnt made their selections for week 41 to week 46. Leeds game is week 41. And between the lost of ticket revenue for our home games could be why Venkys have put more money into their holding company Venkys London Limited.
  23. Those 3 go and watch county cricket more due to twenty20 cricket or one day cricket. I would all 3 would watch 4 days cricket over the season. Botham only was commentator for test cricket. Plus isnt he Durham cricket club chairman
