Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
roverandout replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It would be eggcellent and eggxtremely good if we could get these mother pluckers out -
Agree on foden but I'll also put it down to Southgate's tactics not playing a balanced team. Being on top in big games then losing control when the opposition manager making tweaks. I think if the players are played in their correct position for England it would make a huge difference. As for saka he's been unable to show his worth in massive games like the two finals because we've always been on the backfoot for long periods
-
He never really plays many big games lol. But his record in the champions league this season is exceptional. He's also bailed England out of many tight situations
-
I can honestly see Wharton having the same impact that Bellingham has had at real madrid if he goes there
-
Lol when u said scott I thought u were referring to Scott Wharton
-
Saka's numbers are far better than palmer's. Look I think palmer is a top player but unlike saka he's a hot and cold player. Saka delivers season in season out
-
You wouldn't have saka? He's on a different level to palmer
-
Maybe try Lewis-skelly in that role with hall at left-back. MLS is very good at playing against the press
-
I thought angel gomes played well in the deep role. As u say aside from Wharton we don't produce deep lying midfielders. Anderson is a decent option. That's why Southgate deployed Philips in that role to protect the back 4. I wouldn't be against Henderson doing that role as he has the energy to get about the pitch

I actually thought roversfan was. I just saw the name rice and I didn't read it

Wharton over jones

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coach
roverandout replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Sweden just been beaten by Luxembourg -
Let me amend that by saying they're not elite as in saliba or van diik. But Argentina won 3 tournaments without elite defenders. I'm not some huge England fanboy who isn't given to critising England.
-
As for rice the amount of criticism he gets is bonkers. He's not going to control a game, he wins the ball, plays it simple. That's his job and there's no one better in world football at doing that. He needs an Adam Wharton alongside him to dictate play and release rice to get forward. He's also better on the ball than people think
-
I totally disagree. Konsa and ghuei have proven to be excellent centrebacks. Stones when fit is world class
-
Agree somewhat but I like that he wants the ball. He's got a swagger. At least he doesn't hide like foden
-
I totally agree. My goodness we agree on something
-
Yep lol but it's constructive negativity
-
Jude bellingham is England's best player
-
Haven't been on this thread since yesterday because I was expecting a barrage of negativity. Yes it wasn't great. I was bored shitless. Take into account Albania only lost by 1 goal against Italy and Spain at the euros and drew with Croatia. These aren't easy games. We pressed alot better than under Southgate and it could have been more than 2-0. The negatives. Foden never turns up for England. We passed the ball too much. The positives, myles Lewis-skelly was immense. Bellingham was his usual marauding self. Konsa looked excellent at the back. I thought rashford was pretty poor. I'm looking forward to seeing saka and Palmer in this team. Madueke gives us far more pace on the wing. Also Wharton should be playing deep, allowing rice to get forward. I've no interest in debating roversfan on the England topic because we never agree.

It was a friendly. We beat France 4-0 in a friendly a year ago
-
Agree with everything u say but I would say the first 45 minutes against the dutch
-
Their forward options are pretty pitiful
