  1. Some things never change. “Incey” still gobby after all these years. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23390447.paul-ince-couldnt-see-reading-losing-blackburn-rovers/
  2. Maybe i am coming to this article late but you can see what he is trying to do. No stupid players. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11865155/Jon-Dahl-Tomasson-tells-like-Blackburn-hunt-promotion-FA-Cup-glory.html
  3. Must win game tomorrow. And the next one, and the next one. Stoke are on a roll. At least they denied boro a couple of points. it is remarkable that we are still in the game. Squeaky bum time.
  4. We now reach an interesting time of the season. We are hanging on by the skin of our teeth relying on motivated players performing at the very top of their ability. We have a threadbare squad. It could go either way. it must be cause for concern in Recruitment Mission Control. Do we target a list of championship or DIV 1 players for next season, or do we plan on recruiting premiership or continental top division players for next season ? Mid table mediocrity would make the decision easier. Given our track record in January, the thought of filling the gaps for either scenario fills me with trepidation.
  5. Back down with a bump. Hope we can learn from this quickly. Sounds like a few thought they just needed to turn up. Winning 5-1 away should have been a hint.
  6. On another subject I cant believe how many chances Harvey Elliott creates but no Liverpool players pass to him. That’s their loss. He is a diamond.
  7. His range of accurate crossing is giving us more options.
  8. What a difference a month makes. To rearrange David Coleman’s quote, JDT has changed from “an idiot to a hero” and is apparently being looked at by Feyenoord. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2023/03/01/blackburn-boss-could-replace-a-manager-leeds-want-to-hire-this-summer/ Players out the door are now first choice picks, fringe players are now in the heart of the team, and our captain who was written off and slagged off, is MOM and earning rave reviews. It’s a funny old game. Luck, momentum and belief can make all the difference. Glad we all have the patience and wisdom to see the longer term picture. 🤔
  9. That win is for the 2000 fans who travelled in mid week to an away cup game in the midlands in pissing rain. God bless you lot. Savour every minute.
  10. As you say Gallagher got into positions to make the strikes easy. Many Shearer goals were tap ins because he was such an intuitive striker and reader of the game. if Gallagher is allowed to stay in that position and keep getting service from “Top Ranking Costello” or Thomas, the goals will keep coming. We are going to have to get used to being without Brereton. This is A good time to start the learning process.
  11. Bummer. I could have seen it. TBH glad I didn’t. I usually jinx the result when I watch ESPN. I also have to wear my same old rugby jersey that is getting all these great results.
  12. BBC scores froze at half time. What a joy to see that result. Huge for so many reasons. Gallagher has had a load of grief. That will do him so much good playing as a target man. No new manager bounce and three away points with an injury ravaged side. Cmon you Rovers.
  13. Great write up. Some of those results beggar belief.
  14. Funnily enough first sentence reads ….. Blackburn Rovers can provide the following update to supporters regarding its ongoing attempts to find a positive resolution to its January transfer activity when two registration applications were rejected following the closure of the transfer window. I think this issue of stakeholder is a simple one. if you have an emotional stake in the Club or any organization you are a stakeholder. Your perception as a stakeholder can influence the reputation of the club or organization positively or negatively. Yes it is corporate speak, but it sums up why organizations care about stakeholders as much as shareholders. Hope this is remotely helpful.
  15. I bet Critchley wished he had stayed beside the seaside. With these stats we look pretty stable. “QPR have only won one of their past 17 matches in the league, and have gone eight without victory at Loftus Road. They become the fourth Championship club to make a second managerial change this season after Cardiff City, Wigan Athletic and Huddersfield Town. Meanwhile, there have been a total of 18 changes of head coach or manager so far in 2022-23 by the 24 clubs in the second tier.” Credit : BBC website
  16. Can you imagine the poo fest if we actually had to quickly buy top quality players if we got promoted. We couldn’t get a loaner and a teenager from Rochdale over the line.
  17. Bigger picture. “Diaz’s equaliser was the first home goal the Baggies have conceded in more than 13 hours of football since Corberan’s first game in charge at The Hawthorns in October. “ I’ll take it and hopefully Diaz leaves Brereton behind for the remainder of the season.
  18. Maybe a separate thread for are we a long term project as Mowbray climbs into the top six with his short term project? “However, Tomasson isn’t viewing tonight’s game, nor did he the weekend trip to Watford, as key games in the race for the play-offs. They can climb back into the top six tonight, but would need to beat the Baggies who have won six consecutive league games at home without conceding. He added: “Of course we want to play at the highest level and dream of the play-offs. “If you look at the circumstances, should we be up there? If you compare us with the rest of the squads, the age and the budget, no.”
  19. What the feck is going on at Valencia ? Maybe we should be grateful we don’t have this clown. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64545162
  20. And Morton has the advantage of a long term contract with Liverpool. Someone has to see something in him. 🤔
  21. Last time I was at Watford we won 2-1. I think Tony Field and Barry Endean scored. Here’s hoping for a repeat.
  22. He has really come on since his decision to move to a bigger club 🙃
  23. A lot of pondering going on today. I am pondering whether it would be acceptable for all concerned to unbundle the 10 million bit and do a straight loan for the good of the player if nothing else. Then have a gentleman’s agreement to do the right thing if we get promoted. Probably sets a precedent that the EFL doesn’t want. Another alternative is for Forest to release O’Brien and we pick him up and pay all his wages which I am sure we are not doing. I don’t even know if we have paid fully for Bretherton yet. Who knows? There must be a way to ensure a good player doesn’t twiddle his thumbs for half a season. Nobody wants this situation. Especially the Player ‘s union.
