  1. Goal. by Gueye. Stop press. Beck is very very good. The position is his.
  2. Gueye better stop finger wagging at refs or it will be a long season without a main striker. Dolan creates chances only to blow them at the first opportunity.
  3. I only saw the lowlights not the game. This break is a time to re assess and take some risks. I would play JRC at right back and bin one of the centre backs. I would try the new goalie before the rot truly sets in. Pears made some good saves but was out of position for the second goal. We need someone between the sticks that commands confidence. I would play the Brighton lad on the wing and hook Hedges and drop Dolan and play Yuki deeper. I am all for a settled team until losing becomes unsettling. 👻
  4. I agree on Dolan. Outstanding run and totally weighted unselfish pass. He knows there is competition and he can be the playmaker for the strikers. Sammie said that JDT was the better strategist and Eustace the better man manager. Culture eats strategy for breakfast. Look at Travis. 👊
  5. JDT shipped Travis and dropped Wharton. 🤔
  6. It must be true. I read it in the Scottish Sun😉 If he has been spotted touring the facilities then I would assume he hasn’t taken the weekend off to take the missus for a romantic weekend to the “Hoose” https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/rangers/latest-rangers-news/blackburn-captain-spotted-at-rangers-training-ground-as-philippe-clement-remains-coy-on-transfers-4754650
  7. I don’t get it. Eustace gives Travis the arm around the shoulder and makes him captain. Now apparently he is off to Rangers presumably as a make weight for their winger. Not smart to yank your captain at the start of the season. Whatever people think of him, he has started well and another Rovers man through and through.
  8. I like the way you play. I follow you vicariously through Welcome to Wrexham. You have some big players which is always an asset. I wish you well for the season. Just not the next match. By the way, the concept of being kicked in the friendly has a much more positive connotation than being kicked anywhere else. I will adopt that as part of my lexicon of descriptive phrases 😉
  9. I see the passing back bollocks is still a major feature of our build up 🤔
  10. Big Mak looks like a proper centre forward
  11. Got the appetite after his promotion medal
  12. Polite, respectful, enthusiastic. Mr Shearer, not cynical or cliche ridden. If he scores a ton nobody will remember Mr Sammie.
  13. Two transfer wickets fell at the 450 mark. Could be a few more before the 500 is up. Gotta love Rob McElheny.” Emmy or promotion?” “Promotion without a doubt .” Venkys choice - relegation or bankruptcy?
  14. 300 up and not even a tickle to first slip. Wickets normally fall aplenty around 650 pages. Could be a long innings before any real news.
  15. Ollie Watkins was plying his trade at weston Super Mare. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Top championship scorer playing for an underperforming team. Talk of 6 million makes me want to 🤮
  16. Good to see with the potential departure of Leo and the potential arrival of Tim that our “buy and develop only youth” policy is flourishing.
  17. Great in depth piece in the Times yesterday on Adam. He is capturing the media attention in a positive way. They see him as different and someone special. JDT not so much. “Even last season had ups and downs. Jon Dahl Thomasson, the Blackburn head coach and an initial champion of Wharton, developed doubts about his work off the ball and froze him out for four months. It was the stick, rather than the carrot, and not an approach that necessarily works with a highly intelligent footballer who keenly analyses the game and prefers explanations.” Clown of the first order.
  18. Any youngster contemplating a loan with us should look at how we develop players like Wharton and Raya. Although some loanees have been duds, Harvey Elliott never looked back, Tosin just moved to Chelsea and Branthwaite is on a roll.
  19. I guess we will need to recruit a head of recruitment before we recruit players.🤔 By the time that is approved by India we will be playing our friendlies.
  20. That’s a fact. Check the wages league and our sale of Wharton and we are still skint. No surprise why Ipswich are about to be in the Premier League. Owners with a long term vision, top notch manager and shrewd but significant buys. https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/championship-wage-bills-2023-24-leeds-leicester-southampton
  21. Your wish is granted. And they play Hull midweek for last gasp at playoffs
  22. I can see why they are called Sheffield Wednesday. I have been worrying about this game since Wednesday. 😉
  23. Sadly in our season the word comfortable is not one I would associate with a a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. This lot have been unlucky and the new manager has given them hope. And they are fighters. I hope Leeds or Sunderland Rovers turn up not Bristol City Rovers. I think it may be 1-1. And we might end up happy with that after a close shave.
