  1. Les Ferdinand, Dickov and Sheringham are wrong. Gary Neville?
  2. Ah yes, that one. Definitely outside the box. The lack of yellow card is just another to add to the ref's catalogue of errors from last night.
  3. The one where he was barged off the ball and no foul was given, around 15 minutes from time? A mile inside the box.
  4. You should come back up north, Jan. Its great. Sunday there was the first one in a long while I haven't woke up with my clothes and hair reeking of posion. Good times.
  5. "But what was he looking to achieve by letting it all out publicly? Speaking out to disassociate his image from the humiliation, to court popularity - whatever it was - it's putting your ego ahead of your club." Indeed. Jordan seems to enjoy slaughtering Brum as much as your average Roverite.
  6. ..and he basically asked to get a fine too. The man's a minor legend.
  7. Yeah, "I don't think that's a foul on Dickov." I'd hope not. Which reminds me, that was a blatant penalty. Damn referee.
  8. A very frustrating and ultimatelty disappointing perfromance overall, but the doom and gloom around here is a little over the top. As Flopsy said, we started and finished the game with genuine purpose and only a little shortage of luck stopped us getting the ball over the line earlier. Well, luck and shocking officiating - both the referee and the linesman who disallowed the Wigan goal were just terrible. Wigan will feel very hard done by, but so should we - Gamst's goal came just as our early period of ascendency was beginning to fade. Our tails would have been up again and who knows what could have happened after that. But then again I guess I've got a cheek to be complaining after the goal that was actually given somehow stood (we'd all be spitting blood if it had happened at the other end). The Wigan goal was just sodding typical on an evening of such frustration - what Neill was playing at when we were forced to concede the corner that eventually led to Roberts' insolent finish I'll never know.
  9. Well the ban came in up here just over a week ago, and it felt great to wake up on Sunday morning without my clothes reeking of smoke. And of the three pubs and one club I ventured into on Saturday there was none of the threatened evil smells that smokers have been graciously covering up over the years to be found. Good times.
  10. We really have to slip up sooner or later and with other results going our way at the weekend it would be just typical if it were to happen tonight. Not feeling too confident.
  11. Great stuff, bob (as usual).
  12. Bwahahahahahahaha. Dear me. My personal dislikes include John "didn't he?" Motson and Alan Smith. Someone on here made an excellent point about him recently - he makes up his mind on something after 5 minutes and then spends the rest of the match championing it, even when the evidence in front of his very eyes contradicts it. Rob McLean who presents on Setanta (used to do the commentary on the Scottish Sportscene) is an utter nightmare to listen to. "And....that flag from the assistant.....indicates.....that the forward was....offside." Stop speaking in staccatto you irritating git!
  13. There's not many right backs in the league I would swap him for. I don't think his form has been off for anything like three years - last season he was disappointing and the season before he perhaps struggled for consistency, but he has overall be a worthwhile signing. Worth an extended contract in any case.
  14. So I can't even complain about it being a jammy penalty then? I was tearing my hair out last night when I saw ceefax ticking over to 2-1. Sodding Tottenham.
  15. Its not even mildly surprising. I can't believe all the calls around here to bring him back.
  16. I had a bizzare dream on Friday night where I was Steven Reid, walking around a big library for soem reason. I'll work on doing something similar for the Wigan game.
  17. Honestly, some people live on a different planet.
  18. Well, a win's a win. It's not like Rovers weren't due a bit of luck. It did seem like my heart was in mouth every time they came forward, though.
  19. Wasn't Lucien Metomo was almost signed for something in the region of £7m...?
  20. I was in disbelief when Spurs scored their third. Everything was in slow motion (like Michael Gray) from the moment Lennon got the ball and started charging down the flank. The second I realised Gray was scunnered for pace I just knew it was a certain goal. Unreal stuff after such a dominant display since conceding the second. Its a cruel, cruel game, but you do make your own luck to an extent. Their first two goals wouldn't have stood but for bad/unfortunate officiating, but niether mistake would have mattered if the defenders and keeper had done their jobs properly. Very unfortunate, but as Tango says "An absolutely superb display by Rovers, and a ruthless one by Spurs - probably the reason they'll make the Champions League ahead of us."
  21. (I promise that's the last time I'll do something that )
  22. Yeah. Ooooh a real show of defiance there, lads. I'm never confident when we play Spurs. I don't know why, I think its just because I'm fearing comeupance for all the insults I throw their way for the rest of the season. So I think we'll lose this one.
