Wigan V ROVERS 28/11/18

That Wigan lad has been our best defender. Absolute shambles. We are going to plummet down this league if we carry on like this. This should be 4 0 -

We can't cope with balls into the box. Lucky if we go in one down. Too predictable. -

Problem is, we have no wingers so whoever plays out wide is a square peg. We don't have the width to hurt teams, the pace to counter or the height for direct play. We are still very much lacking an identity or style despite TM having more than 18 months to develop one. Feel we will get done by Wigan's more direct approach. Hopefully, there is a reaction to PNE though and that is enough to get us the points. -
Goals are a major issue this year. Last season, before it started, TM came out and said we need to score 80 goals and contribute around the team. We are woefully short of goals this year. Graham may scrape 10, Dack possibly 15. Mulgrew may get 5 or 6. After that, Armstrong has never done it at this level (yet) Bennett, Evans, Smallwood, Rothwell, Reed, Nyambe, Bell, Williams, Travis, Conway,Rodwell will contribute 4 or 5 between them, if we are lucky. This season is going to tail off rapidly unless we find away of scoring more. What's the stat...one first half goal all season at Ewood?

As a bit of an old fashioned 4-4-2 chap, I could imagine Brereton and Armstrong making a very useful front two partnership. Shame that will never get utilised. -

Poor subs again. Haven't had a shot this half. -

Surely you'd have preferred us to spend £7 million on a player that can fit straight into our formation effectively? -

Give over. He picks a side with no strikers and we trail 1-0 at half time. Of course you can question the selection. What we do have, and every credit to TM for it, is a great team spirit. I think the LT reporter said the points haul in the champ so far, is the same as the same as the point return in Mowbray's 15 champ games when we were relegated. Have we improved? Did he over- achieve with the relegated team or is he under-performing with this one? Or is there no point debating that because we all know nowt? -

Bowyer and Mowbray have a very similar approach. Respect the point. -

Trust him to want the best for rovers -yes. Trust him to pick and play a formation that wins games? Less and less. -

We'd be even better with their left winger ? -

There was a massive gulf in that second 45. Had us in trouble every time they came forward. -

Transfer window not looking great so far. Armstrong:. Very hit and miss Rothwell:. Looks the best player we've bought but never starts. Rodwell: ok in mid, poor at back. Davenport: no sign of him. Reed: best signing by a mile (but not ours) Palmer: glimpses of talent but not justified a first team place. Brereton: Dear lord. -

Got to be honest. Looks poor so far. You normally see some flashes from a player at that price that hint at more to come...but nope. -
