Whilst I didn’t think Raya leaving was catastrophic you would have assumed we had an imminent arrival. As it stands it’s a really poor move letting him go without a replacement lined up and it weakens our hand when negotiating. We were under no obligation to let him leave so we should have held on until things were in place

Maybe I’m daft but I’m feeling positive about it all. Feel things are about to take shape. For me Raya out and Darlow In leaves us stronger in the goalkeeping department (if £3m really was a crazily low price for Raya then there’d would be a queue to take him) I like Rodwell but in terms of impact he wasn’t going to play central midfield and today we signed a midfielder that would likely have been first choice in there any season of the last 6-7. Just turned 32 so not over the hill. Downing May be older than Conway but he’s a better player. Gallagher looked brilliant in flashes when he was here and would be a good option if not a massively exciting signing. I would look to shift out Smallwood and Nuttall and we are still a starting centre half short. I May be way off but for whatever reason I feel positive about the way this window will go

Personally I really like this years kit, let’s be honest though it’s a very safe and easy design, take something away one year then bring it back the year after and it’s an easy win, EA often do that sort of thing with FIFA games! Had it had a red collar it would have been amongst my favourites I’ll pick it up if I can get a sponsor less one otherwise I’ll stick with the near perfect 2011 shirt even if it is synonymous with a terrible time

We may not have shown our kit yet but interesting goings on down in Preston. They announced both kits and had them for order, the away was red, some people complained about it so they’ve just announced that they’ve scrapped it and will be using last seasons away kit again with orders refunded.
