Cantwell has had a lot of criticism for his attitude, with a bit of luck this all implodes for them

Cantwell announced at Bournemouth so that’s 5 today, they are giving it a good go They’re going to be gutted when they miss out on promotion
-
Funny how people take a lack of excitement as failure, think people would prefer we sold players and scrambled round trying to get replacements in just because it would be more exciting In reality if we get this Giles chappy in it’s been a very decent window for me
-
I think we can be better than implying his wife is a nefarious money grabber pulling his strings!
-
Honestly I’d have a go for Dembele, match the Bournemouth bid and see if Tony can sell him the dream

So here we are, nearly 10 am and so far Rothwell is having a lovely day out by the seaside but looks likely to be coming home tomorrow What do people expect the day to bring?

Chapman can only play for us or Burton, neither want him really. -

We need replacements signed and sealed before we released him; let him have his medical but don’t sign any paperwork until we are ready, maybe even then don’t bother just out of spite! Tomorrow needs a new thread, snacks and beer Weirdly excited, can’t wait for the random ridiculous link that materialises late on. -

There’s a real risk that all the air will be sucked out of the room on deadline day and totally derail our season We just can’t be selling a player to a promotion rival -

Cautiously optimistic about Hedges, low risk and we need some options as Butterworth, Chapman etc aren’t realistic attacking options -

My view if the rumours are true is I would much prefer we keep him till summer and he can go on a free then if need be, failing that sell him for over the odds to a premier league team IF a ready made replacement is coming in Under no circumstances let him leave to Bournemouth- 7479 replies

Interesting argument to suggest JRC is better than Nyambe as he was getting picked ahead of him last season. We were pretty dire last season, and lots of people did question JRC getting picked ahead of him at the time. And he was picked ahead of him while we are worse and now we are better Nyambe is playing isn’t too strong an argument. Ryan has been an integral part of the defence that’s kept a ridiculous amount of clean sheets, the one game he didn’t play we lost, in part due to JRC giving a soft goal away. Genuinely no comparison between them at this stage in each of their careers for me, JRC is a better crosser and passer maybe but Nyambe better in pretty much every other aspect, he’s an outlet and a threat down the flank even if the final ball can be lacking he can take two men out of the game, holds the ball, is a beast physically and tracking back and trusted to be the last man on corners etc and never lets us down there.- 7479 replies

Such a shame if his story doesn’t conclude with him going to the World Cup, there will be other chances but it would really be the icing on the cake

I agree with you, just never seen anything to suggest he’s ready at this level Also “electrically fast” - no chance, lad looks like he’s running through treacle -
Oh bloody hell, still think that Hughes last game when we capitulated there was the start of a slow downfall for us. Missed out on Europe, then Hughes left and Ince came in

Apart from the goal I think my 3 favourite moments of last night were tackles: Gallagher closing down chasing a ball out wide then a crunching tackle out for a throw Edun knowing he’s going to get clattered but going in full blooded in injury time and taking a big hit for the team Then Zeefuik closing down an attacker like a steam train and getting a big block and wasting some more time and celebrating like an NFL player after a big block The kind of thing that will win over the Ewood Crowd massively -
Delighted to hear he’s doing ok, as others said they were battering us at the time and the stoppage helped us massively, heard of taking one for the team but that’s extreme. Hope you are ok, must have been truly awful for you

Another huge game on Saturday, beat Luton (Bournemouth play Barnsley) then we have another game before Bournemouth as they are in cup action so would give us an opportunity to create some distance and put the pressure on them

We do need an extra attacking option this window, even as a sub I don’t think Butterworth has what’s needed sadly. A loan out would be ideal for him -
