  1. Really enjoyed Paul Mersons book
  2. Villa are the best team we have played so far and I think we more than matched them , there 2 more tough games coming up in Derby and Stoke away , but both those teams have had Inconsistent starts and I am reasonably confident we could get something in both games
  3. True ... They're a funny lot up there on't hills
  4. So who's left today ? Just Hardcastle and Hart ?
  5. #backtoback ... It's happening I tell thy ?
  6. Brerton to be announced at h/t ??
  7. I really can't see a body else coming in ..maybe a GK possibly if we can find a club who are willing to let one to come in as 2nd or 3rd choice which would allow Fisher to go out on loan ,but with Reed , Brereton and Rodwell (who I think is you C/b) I think that's your lot , it's all about outgoings now imo
  8. It's going to be difficult for the lad , he needs games , he'd needs to build up match fitness , and u23 games are ok but but nothing like a true competitive game and if he's coming in as. C/b how on earth does he get in past Mulgrew and Lenighan at the moment ? Ok we have a league cup game in Lincoln coming up but after that ??? Stoke Villa Derby Forest .... I really wouldn't want to throw him in against those teams
  9. If you believe the salary he was on at Sunderland Jack Rodwell is a very rich man , he certainly does not need The money if he as a unrepentant desire to prove himself once again and we negatioate (as Mowbray said) a cheap deal it might work , that said his injury record his Vincre Grella level
  10. Just seen his goals on sky , good far post header then 2 very similar ones cutting in from left on his right foot , can't remember what his scoring record was in championship was though , something tells me he scored a bucket load in league 1 but struggled when moved to Championship (might be wrong though)
  11. anybody get the feeling that Mowbray's frustration at the delays in the deals he wants and the fact that these targets have become public, may lead him in switch to totally new targets which havnt been reported
  12. After The way we performed Saturday I would not be surprised to see the same 11 , However IF Dack is unavailable I would probably start Rothwell on the left and move Palmer centrally in the Dack role
  13. Doesn't seem much of an improvement on Corry Evans tbh
  14. I am same ...maybe it comes down to the type of person we are ..., if I won 10k on a scratchcard I wouldn't just by a brand new car , I'd buy an older one , have a holiday and out some in bank for a rainy day ?
  15. They arnt worth that today though , none are first team regulars either , take them on loan with view to buy if they're a success great if not ship them back , far safer than spending £8m on Brerton Imo
  16. I agree , I am probably going to be in the minority here but I wouldn't want us to spend £8m on one player certainly not a 19 year old with "potential" I would much prefer to spend half that one someone who like Chris Martin or Rudy Gestede or Scott Hogan or someone like that who albeit older but less of a risk and the other on improving midfield and defence
  17. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/16439149.southampton-manager-mark-hughes-on-sam-gallagher-and-fraser-forster/ doesnt look like Gallagher will be leaving anytime soon
  18. If you judge the players by their time here in the past Gestede wins hand over fist from Gallagher , however he does need quality service to get the best out of him and we just don't have that quality delivery from wide areas just yet , would Chapman change that ??? , would Maddison ?? Plus I think Gallagher is cursed .. 2 relegation in 2 years , us and MK Dons , and nearly Made it 3 last year with Birmingham ???
  19. Is Davenport fit for today's game ?
  20. Would like to see us build on last weeks point , although conceding a late goal is disappointing I think a draw at Ipswich isn't a bad result when all things considered, today's is different though and I want to see us win and hopefully Palmer and Armstrong will start to give us that extra attacking threat Rovers win 2-0 Dack and Graham
  21. IF Maddison does have an attitude problem the fact that hes still at Peterborough ought to have knocked him down a peg or 2 , Mowbray just might be willing to leave him there til January and see how his attitude and performances have been Would like to see a striker , the need for a target man is well documented , what's not been said is that a target man needs good service , we have the likes of Dack Palmer and Armstrong who are all good technically and an attacking threat but do not have the quality of delivery someone like Gallagher or Gestede would thrive on , even our full backs are not great crossers of the ball , some people have been obsessed with a "pacy winger" , well we had one of them in Feeney ,I would much prefer a winger who could actually cross a ball regardless of how fast he can run
  22. I would imagine there would also be a better quality of player available for loan after the window closes .. I mean look at someone like Danny Ings , if he doesn't get a move today He could well be loaned into the championship
  23. To bring 3-4 players in on one day is a big ask especially when we're all expecting to see some outgoings , my guess there will be 1 maybe 2 maximum today possibly Bauer , possibly a cheap goalkeeper with another couple of loans later in the month like Chapman and a striker . The Wildcard is obviously the midfielder the 4m bid for Freeman suggests the funds are there for a Big one , Mowbray's cute enough to a) not to overpay and b) not to spend for spendings sake
  24. Not saying we will , but don't be too surprised to see a number of teams try and copy England's 3-5-1-1 formation this season
  25. Wtf .... ???i was just getting excited about Chapman then this Freeman link ... Have I gone back in time 7-8 years ... Jordan Rhodes apart who was the last player we spent 4m on ???
