  1. I think we needed them from the get-go, but JDT is channelling his inner Gary Bowyer. I swear there’s a kind of “The Shining” scenario in our dressing room.
  2. Struggling to score goals. Who’d have thought it?
  3. You’ll end up with more shots than he does
  4. Nah, Mercer’s been on the red since lunchtime 😉
  5. Let’s hope Gally can actually trap a bag of cement this evening, and that Chaddy is on here at 21:45 talking about “twists and turns”.
  6. Technically, but Wigan , (amongst other towns), is in Lancashire as far as I’m concerned.
  7. First things first, we just need to win a game again. That simply has to be on Saturday against a side with nothing but pride to play for.
  8. They won't involve us, unless we start winning again pronto.
  9. Let's hope they peter out, but there's generally a side who makes a run from nowhere. The only table that really matters is the final one.
  10. Compare how many goals Huddersfield have scored recently to us, (including against decent teams). They are favourites on current form.
  11. We didn't finish in the top six last season, and the only time it really matters is at the business end of the season. That's when we invariably fade away.
  12. Twists and turns would be great, For that, we need to show more resilience with the pressure on. At the moment we are heading in a one way, no turns direction. People have an inevitable sense of deja vu as we've witnessed this scenario so often in recent seasons. I think JDT has done well to keep us up there for this long, given the squad deficiencies. The trend needs to be bucked on Monday.
  13. I agree with the first part. Unfortunately, the second part isn't up to JDT. I've no doubt he knows what is needed, but the hierachy will be the problem.
  14. I largely agree, but other clubs with dodgy owners have succeeded to some extent since Venkys took over. The “project” mentality is definitely holding us back. Player development and adding value take precedence over the desire for promotion. Ironic, given we’ve ended up giving players away at the end of their contracts. Broughton seems to have got to grips with that at least, but we need a few ready made players brought in to become serious challengers ,and that appears unlikely. Whilst JDT isn’t perfect, I do think he could succeed if he was allowed to make a few decent signings.
  15. I think the squad deficiencies are the main factor, but the annual tail off at the business end of the season and the tangible lack of ability to recover from losing positions do suggest a mentality issue. We lack one or two battle hardened leaders who would help the younger players.
  16. So the annual end of season capitulation is underway. I think the only surprise is, given the squad deficiencies, that it's started later than usual. I had to abort my journey to Ewood Park after my windscreen was broken by a duck on the M6. I've had better days.
  17. ……or perhaps I just have a different opinion than yours. Rovers will be a stepping stone for JDT, but hopefully he will be on that stone for a while yet.
  18. He can't have done it that thoroughly when he agreed to take the gig with us. Leicester may have problems, but they are a well established Premier League club who will have plenty of cash to flash if they get relegated.
  19. I wonder if his new agency has put his name forward, hence the short odds? Let's face it, if offered it he'll be off. Hopefully, they will look elsewhere.
  20. I don't think the home games will be the snag. Lower middling teams, (eg Brum), are exactly who you want to be playing at the business end of the season, and today is a very poor result. As others have said, we really need to show more resilience after going behind. Got lucky with the results today, so need to capitalise on that.
  21. I don't think our squad is anywhere near strong enough to be pushing for top 2. It certainly would've helped sustain a Play Off push. Getting in the Play Offs would be an over achievement with what we have.
  22. I blame Mercer. Can't afford an Easter Egg now.
  23. It was reminding me of the QF thirty years ago, even before the third went in. It’s a cruel game.
  24. To be honest, watching this just makes me grateful we didn’t get drawn against City.
