  1. I hope you are right, but think that is a tad optimistic. I can see us going down with a whimper unless a (good) change is made quite soon.
  2. They are still clueless and won't be able to see the writing on the wall. Tony probably put a call in to Pune last night with some reassuring bullshit.
  3. Any chief executive of a professional sports club who signs off a sponsorship deal with a nicotine pushing company is an impostor.
  4. Ah yes, the actor Steve Waggott, currently playing the role of the invisible man. Any decision would surely come from India, but they will no doubt make one when it's too late.
  5. Looking on the bright side, there's a weather warning in place for heavy rain. We might get a result - a postponement ?
  6. Yes, I can think of a good few better candidates who are instantly available.
  7. Agreed, the speed (or lack of it) in making decisions continues to be a problem. I don't believe for a minute that the actor Steve Waggott is empowered to make strategic decisions. They will act when it's far too late, and then make another poor appointment.
  8. Mowbray has only been "successful" on one occasion in this division, and that was more than a decade ago, (and pre-dates Owen Coyle's success in this division). He massively over thinks things, hence all the tinkering.
  9. That conjurs the image in my head of Eric Morecambe talking to Andre Previn? I agree, but still think j*b's point is valid.
  10. True, but do we now have a better goalkeeper or defence? No, in my opinion, and I think Raya is a better keeper than Walton. The ways things are going, Wigan could soon overtake us. I expect Brentford to finish comfortably ahead of us.
  11. The short answer is 'no'. None of them would know where to start. We will end up with another dinosaur, foisted on us by the most pushy agent.
  12. It's the latest incarnation of the Ewood self preservation society. Rovers are the gift that never stops giving if you can ingratiate yourself with the owners. Mowbray & his sidekick are bedding themselves in nicely. Venkys never learn.
  13. Not saying I want him, but I disagree about it being a typical appointment. It would actually show a little imagination. Had Norwich fans ever heard of Farke? I wouldn't trust the actor Steve 'Totally Wicked' Waggott to pick his nose. I think it could catch on ? Anyway, back on topic, can't be arsed getting a ticket to be humiliated.
  14. According to Wiki, Artell has a degree in biology. That's a better degree than the one Mowbray has (in monotony). I'd rather take a punt on someone like Artell than end up with another dinosaur, which is the most likely outcome. We've already missed the boat with the Cowley brothers.
  15. and, sadly, the owners are naive enough to believe him. Surely, even the most optimistic of happy clappers can see there is more chance of hell freezing over. The latter two are more in the one man tent category. An absolutely scandalous waste of money.
  16. I can see the similarities, but Mowbray has had relative riches to spend compared to Saxton, who really did have to beg, steal and borrow. So nearly led us to promotion to the old First Division in 1985, under those circumstances. I don't see Mowbray getting us anywhere near the Premier League.
  17. + a downward spiral since last February. The writing is firmly on the wall.
  18. Another Mowbray & Waggott transfer window? Terrifying!
  19. Trains are currently running on the West Coast Main Line, but severe weather, & subsequent blanket speed restriction, is causing delays. The blanket speed restriction is still scheduled to be in place in the north tomorrow until noon,so services heading south will almost certainly continue to be delayed.
  20. I wonder if Wigan are paying all of Mulgrew's wages? This is the problem of having older players on long contracts.
  21. I take your point, but you can't waffle on about a slow build, then build your defence on loanees. That's the point I am making. If they were top draw players it would make more sense, i.e. For a shit or bust assault on promotion.
  22. But Cunningham is only on loan, as is Tosin & the keeper. Makes a mockery of all this "slow build" nonsense. In an area we desperately needed to significantly strengthen, we have applied a sticking plaster. To me, the whole window has been a mess and Mowbray (& his TV extra chief exec) have completely lost the plot.
  23. Enough said!!! The usual singing nuns are already out in force on twitter, claiming everything is fine with our window dealings. Nauseating.
