Agreed. It’s got to be a sensible mix of bringing players in who can hit the ground running, and blooding academy players who are good enough. An over reliance on the academy will inevitably lead to a struggle, especially when there are currently so many gaps to plug.

I’m currently weighing up whether to buy a season ticket as I may be able to get to more games next season. I was a season ticket holder for many years, but stopped buying due to the obvious lack of ambition and because of missing games through work commitments. If the club had given me an incentive to buy one early, I would certainly have bought one. They have missed a golden opportunity to capitalise on the excitement of the new era. They just don’t get it.

Yes, we were always going to struggle to cope with several key players missing, (for a meaningless series). Did very well to win the Championship match, under the circumstances. Thst said, this evening’s performance has been particularly poor.
