  1. I see the set up very differently. They have no intention of appointing and empowering a competent and fully functioning CEO / MD. They merely ensure a box is ticked to observe Football League regulations by appointing a stooge, who has slightly more authority than the cleaning staff. The invisible Pasha and Babu have slightly more authority, but are evidently clueless.
  2. Bobby Saxton's tenure included fifth and sixth placed finishes, (which shows what can be achieved on a shoestring), something Mowbray will never achieve.
  3. They haven’t seen him play yet 😉 Honestly, you couldn’t make this stuff up. What’s next, Gallagher for Peru as he’s a big fan of Paddington Bear?
  4. Yes, we might as well be discussing whether Roy Race would be decent for us, (I suggest googling for those fortunate enough to not have a clue who he is).
  5. Hodgson has stated he is having a break from football. Why would he leave Premier League Crystal Palace to join Rovers? At 73, perhaps if and when he returns to football it will be in more of a director of football type capacity.
  6. Or maybe they’re gullible, ignorant fools who believe Mowbray’s guff.
  7. Yes, more guff about Venkys understanding the "unique" nature of the season. Amazing that it was only unique to Blackburn Rovers! Utterly pathetic.
  8. Probably delegated to Mowbray, Venus and Waggott, who all agreed it had been a roaring success and reported this back to Venkys.
  9. I agree with and applaud the sentiment. The reality will be very different.
  10. The Queen says “Mowbray out!” 😉 The problem is that next season Ewood will be a largely deserted echo chamber, mainly populated by folk who would still go even if it incorporated Mowbray personally slapping them in the face at the turnstiles. It’s clear that nothing is going to change, so many simply won’t bother, (myself included).
  11. We have regressed from mid - table drifters to relegations likelys.
  12. Each to their own. The reality in the ground will be large scale apathy and ambivalence, with small pockets of dissent, amongst the inevitably poor attendances. One day I hope to return, but my connection with the club barely exists anymore as things stand.
  13. I’ve been a regular since the early 80s, but I’m afraid I feel the same as @gumboots. I’ve had enough.
  14. Tony Mowbray facing up to a huge Rovers rebuild this summer | Lancashire Telegraph Quite clear that Sharpe believes Mowbray is staying. A second season with no visits to Ewood Park for me. Why would I pay good money to watch a team whose manager doesn't care where we finish in the table?
  15. I know you're only kidding, but it would be utterly depressing and would rub our noses in it even more. I doubt very much it would be a step up to Rovers after another season or two of Mowbray.
  16. For clarification, surely you DO want to talk to the organ grinders, (not the monkeys).
  17. I’m calling Childline 😉
  18. Yes, I should have quoted the poster who queried why Ainsworth would go to PNE, who seemed unaware he had played there. He clearly has an affiliation with PNE, though Rovers would be a greater pull. I still have a hunch that Preston will appoint him.
  19. They are not “my” issues and if you don’t feel let down by the way the club is being run I am truly amazed. You will be sat watching garbage in an a near empty stadium with zero atmosphere.
  20. I can’t find a photo, but he was crying on the pitch when Preston got relegated to Division 4 at Bolton in 1993.
  21. I will supporting my club I have supported all my lifetime. I'm not going to stop going cos of the manager who I want replacing. I didn't want Ince to become manager when he did get the job, having Kean and Coyle didn't stop me going either. If you don't want a ST then thats fine with me. I have no issues with your choice but please don't start trying me feel guilty at all cos I don't or won't As you know full well, the issues run much deeper than the current manager. I’ve also supported the club all my life, but this is not that club anymore as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully, one day the ownership will change and I (and many others) will feel a connection again. I’m not trying to make you feel guilty. If you want to pay good money to be constantly let down, that’s up to you. I couldn’t care less.
  22. Largely agree, but as the likes of Barnsley have shown, a decent leftfield appointment can also be successful. I put Ainsworth in that bracket. No doubt we will plod on with Mowbray until it's too late to salvage next season, and then replace him with another poor choice.
  23. What you will actually be supporting is a parasite infested carcass.
