Good or bad Friday depending on the result

I don't think Ainsworth gets the credit he deserves. He's basically done the equivalent of getting Accy Stanley or Rochdale in the Championship. They were favourites for relegation last season. -

Tony, is that you? -

Yes, the deciding T20 is on tomorrow, so the Raos will probably be focussed on that. -
Well rightly or wrongly, it wasn’t given as a foul. That is a fact. As you have conceded, it certainly was not serious foul play with intent to injure. If it happened the other way around, ie our goalkeeper and their forward, I doubt people would be getting so emotive about it. It’s a great shame, but a total freak. No goalkeeper is expecting a player who is off the pitch, behind the goal to do that.
-
No chance. Has never worked that way, even in instances where serious foul play was involved. It’s a great shame, but just a totally freak accident.
-
Sorry, but I don’t accept this. It was an absolute freak incident. Raya was obviously taken unawares and, at worst, stuck his knee out a bit. Penalty? Quite possibly, but certainly not serious foul play. You could even describe what Dack tried to do as a bit odd and not something you see as a regular occurrence during games. The impact looked fairly innocuous, as was the case when he sustained the injury against Wigan. Dack is obviously susceptible to this type of injury.

I sincerely hope so, but everything is pointing to a struggle next season, unless Mowbray is replaced by a decent successor. -

That will be next season when we’ll be in deep doo doo. -
The re-invigoration of BRFC
martonrover replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Fair play to Darrenrover for taking the initiative and trying to do what the likes of Waggott, (pretend Chief Executive), should be doing. In terms of the generally negative, pessimistic views on this forum, I think a lot of that relates to age and a better understanding of the club's plight than is prevalent on other forums and outlets. Some of those people will be in for a shock when they see the size of the crowd when supporters are allowed to attend again. Not many folk will be prepared to put up with monotonous mediocrity, (at best), season upon season. -
Championship Season 2020 - 2021

Henry would be a highly risky appointment, based on his managerial record to date. I would say it's more likely that a star struck Balaji would try to tempt Henry. -

Wouldn't surprise me if Bournemouth line up Wilder for next season, or maybe ask Howe to return. -
It was an innocuous incident, as was the case in the Wigan game. Unfortunately, Dack must be susceptible to this type of injury.

Mowbrays Successor
martonrover replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We look a reasonable side and pick up points when there is no pressure on a game. Dead rubbers are a happy hunting ground for us. Every season follows more or less the same pattern. Win a few when it’s futile. -
Injuries are symptomatic of a struggling club, and many of the injured players are known sicknotes or in the twilight of their careers. We will be hearing the same bleating next season, no doubt.
-
But he probably won't, and next season will be a virtual replica of the last few, (at best). It's so obvious he has taken the club as far as he can, but we are now stuck with him.

Mowbrays Successor
martonrover replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There are plenty of clubs above us in the table whose managers had no previous Championship experience prior to being appointed. Unfortunately, neither Venkys nor our so called Chief Executive would have the nouse to make a decent, left field appointment. A dinosaur from an agency's scrap heap it is. -

Absolutely superb goal, even more so because of the timing. -

Barnsley are exhibit ‘A’ of having the right people at executive level to choose a manager. They have now plucked out two excellent left field appointments in succession. -
Maybe, but I hope not.
-
For me, you need an experienced football executive, not an ex-manager who will no doubt want to stick his oar in all the time. That would put a lot of potential candidates off.
-
Yes, there are plenty out there like that, I have no doubt. That’s what I was getting at, but you worded it better.
-
Would you say that perhaps in many cases that it’s more about backing the status quo than about backing the manager? Then when the club finally takes action and the axe falls, the same people will praise the club for making the right decision.

The only thing Tony should be directing is the pre-match entertainment for the corporates at the Riverside next season.
