  1. So if what you are saying is true the new DOF is already having to work under certain conditions by having to give Gestede a position in his team? This is ridiculous. Why aint the club saying anything? Why hasnt a statement been put out regarding Broughton's future when the BBC , telegraph and tabloids have commented that he is gone? I'm venting at the club here not you. I just can't understand why the club haven't released a statement regarding Broughton's position, when for a week its being said he had left the club by the media.
  2. Be ridiculous if it is Gestede. Why would a prospective DOF have to shadow people at the club?
  3. Why haven't the club announced Broughton's departure?
  4. I watch too many shows lol.Have you watched kin? Excellent gangland drama the 2 series are on BBC I player and it's either on or coming to netflix
  5. Those comments from Eustace ain't new he said it at the end of the season when he won't have known what sort of budget we have (if any )
  6. His goal record is shit and didn't he spend time on the bench at Peterborough and Bournemouth? We need players who can contribute goals and assists.Dembele strikes me as a highlight player gets the crowd off their feet with a bit of pace and trickery but minimal end product. His wage will be on the high side aswell
  7. I agree he shouldn't have been sold ,I agree it was shit money for his ability what I disagree with is the theory we would have been getting 25/30 /35 million bids in the summer . Agreed about the scouting and wow factor but nobody bit apart from palace in January at such a bargain price
  8. Scott had played more games ,had more goals had more assists and had been in the England under 21 squads ,and had played for them. I think Wharton is the better player and will go onto have a much better career but the point still stands the likes of Tyler Morton was getting in the under 21 squads ahead of him while he was here Even when it was clear we were selling him in January why weren't other clubs at least matching the bids for Wharton? Not all clubs in the league had issues with ffp. It's taken him performing in the premier league to become the talk of it
  9. Although I don't think Wharton would have thrown his toys out of the pram I do believe he wanted the move to palace in January, once it became more apparent playoffs wouldnt be a consideration this season. Both him and Szmodic signed their new deals when we were a couple of points outside top 6. What Broughton said is right if you just keep turning down bids and don't let players out the next time you want a talent to sign a long term deal the answer will be no . We were a team in free fall regardless if Wharton stayed in January, yeah we could have got a few million more I'd say a maximum of £25 million no team was coming in with 30 million without him being tested In the top tier
  10. I agree that should be the price but are clubs really paying that when he hadn't even had a call up to the England under 21s? I obviously think it's a joke he hasn't had a call up but Scott from Bournemouth when sold had had caps at under 21 level, had more games under his belt and goals and assists. I obviously think Wharton is a superior player to Scott as thus far proven but I also believe Wharton wouldn't have been in the last under 21 squad if he still played for us
  11. I'm not saying he isn't worth that much but as a championship club no way on earth we get 36 million for him. He hadn't even had an England under 21 cap whilst here I'm not defending the club, I wouldn't have sold him in January but there is no evidence whatsoever that someone would have paid us double what we got ,we could have looked for similar money that Scott got like Matty blue suggested which was £25 million
  12. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/27868503/adam-wharton-bayern-munich-transfer-crystal-palace/ Nixon selling Wharton to Munich for £60 million
  13. Been relegated last 2 seasons so yeah he might want to make it a hat-trick
  14. Agreed. At least if Broughton had known at the beginning of the window what budget he had we might have seen better than Telalovic. We had 3 players in the door in Siggy,Tronstad and Ennis and had been in talks with Batth. If the budget had been as low from day one maybe those 3 don't happen and we target different players and don't spend half the summer chasing unaffordable targets Broughton was as fucked around as anyone at the club .It's also ridiculous imo he gets grief for McGuire not happening,it is not his job to send off the paperwork nor should he have to stand over the person whose job it is.(Or it was Venkys pulling the plug)
  15. Why haven't the club communicated to the supporters that Broughton has been sacked then? Why are the supporters at this club treated so poorly?
  16. The part where it suggests that Euastace is aligned with Broughton's plans for the summer certainly suggests we are looking at a worse budget than last summer. They will pocket the Szmodic money too
  17. Nothing to spend out of the Wharton fee, and be nothing to spend out of the Szmodic money either
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cpwg72jx9j5o BBC suggesting it's Broughton wanting to leave Broughton staying Broughton going it makes no difference the club is fucked with these clowns as owners
  19. That will surely be one of the add ons to take the deal closer to 22 million
  20. We could have got a little more for him but until tested at premier league level there is a ceiling and nobody is being stupid suggesting that. Apart from Bellingham who had a way bigger reputation than Wharton what other teenager has been sold for more money? The fact Is most of us on here knew he was an incredible talent but he hadnt even been called up to an England under 21 squad whilst with us ...it took a move to the premier league for him to even get that
  21. I doubt Dolan will go even if he doesn't sign a new contract beyond the year extension we will still be entitled to a fee for him next summer
  22. Pointless if they are...whatever budget they have been promised will only be reduced later in the summer. That's if Venkys havent already told them it's only frees and loans and the wages need to be cut again. Sell A.Wharton(replace from within) Sell Szmodic(replace with shite)
  23. He isn't head of recruitment Sean Kimberley is. Broughton's job isn't to solely identify players ...he hasn't sat checking stats and scouting players all week. He is director of football operations and it isn't just the first team. At least contracts have got signed while he is here
  24. Yeah but when you are spending so little and hoping to sign championship level players for as little as 300 k then it could be the most respected dof in the world in charge but it is going to be very difficult to get the quality desired for such little money. When we supposedly had a better budget we were bringing in and being linked with better. The striker Adams who Broughton supposedly had a liking for is now being rated at £20 million following his summer move. Hyam had a shit season , and I'm not keen on hisw character but last season he was excellent and if Szmodic is sold it will dwarf the 2 million spent in the summer. I'm not suggesting Broughton is excellent at his job but it could be anyone in his position and they will still find the job extremely difficult when budgets keep getting changed etc. When Broughton has spent over a million quid the signings have been ok
  25. Cost the club a lot of money? Broughton has to compete in the championship with a lower end league one budget whilst any decent player is sold off . Plus it has to be taken into account every window Greg is told one thing and then the budget gets slashed.
