Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?
islander200 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Were the rest of the players sulking too? Because Van Hecke and Kaminski aside the rest had a drop in form. Quite clearly Mowbray has an issue when the opposition work out his tactics, as evidenced by his woeful results second half of season at all his clubs. I'm not Rothwells biggest fan but blaming our second half of the season form on his failure to be sold is nonsense imo. The managers failure to react to the opposition working us out is the reason we failed to make the playoffs -
The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread

His spells out of the side were only short lived because his replacements proved sub standard and he had no choice to put him back in. Give me one logical reason why first Bennett was put in at right back at the expense of Nyambe and then last season Costello put in ahead of Nyambe? If as you say nothing untoward, explain to me why Zeefuik was preferred on the bench the last 2 games? -
Travis and Carter also signed new long term deals. Of course we would have made the trio offers, but like you say could have been a minimal increase. Been speculated on here that we wouldn't offer Nyambe terms in line with first team regulars due to a policy of players that have come through the academy, that must have changed to see Travis sign on for another 4 years
-
But yet you would take Manning from Mk Dons if we are looking at the lower leagues? Ainsworth has at least managed at this level and the job he has done at Wycombe has been Excellent. I'd rather someone with proven pedigree at this level like a Farke but if we are looking at league one then Ainsworth has done as good a job as anyone in that division

Quite clearly the telegraph were wrong regarding Maja as he joined Stoke on loan only. With no obligation to sign him on a permanent. £2 million wasn't needed to sign him
-
Luke Brennan confirms he is leaving the club.Been here 14 years.Nixon has him down as signing for Wigan. Joe Ferguson also to depart

The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread
islander200 replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Agreed.Absolute joke he wasn't at least on the bench the last 2 games. We won't be signing Zeefuik so why was he on the bench yesterday ahead of Nyambe. Mowbray definitely has an issue with Nyambe -
Who said we got priced out of The Obafemi deal? As far as I was aware we had agreed with Southampton but the player didn't want to enter talks with us?
-
This.Maja was available on loan anyway.Stoke didn't have to agree to any permanent deal
-
So why did Maja end up at Stoke on a loan deal with no obligation to buy? Just because Sharpe said "it's believed Bordeaux now want a permanent deal for Maja" in the telegraph prior to Maja joining doesn't make it true. Quite clearly it wasn't the case because he moved on loan with NO obligation to buy. Tony Mowbray said he was offered strikers on loan but he felt we didn't need one .

v Bournemouth (h) - 30/4/22
islander200 replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You think absolutely no chance that Fulham can beat Sheffield United?Or it's beyond conceivable that Luton lose their 2 games? It's a longshot now that we will do it but surely whilst still the remotest of possibilities you pick the team that won you the last match at a canter -
Thought Whitehall was showing a lot of promise prior to his injury issues this season? Granted I won't have seen the u-23 as much as you
-
A couple of week ago Nixon reckoned Brennan would be joining Wigan in the summer
-
I know what position Poveda plays, but he has been injured for 6 months and spent the majority of his time injured at Leeds not with us. Why does Zeefuik deserve to be on the bench ahead of Nyambe? Surely we won't be paying the £3 million fee to make Zeefuik a permanent deal.
-
He could rightly point to the result to justify that decision and it worked out last night. But Nyambe has been a good servant to the club and any other reason than injury then imo it's a joke that Zeefuik and Poveda got places on the bench ahead of him. Hope he is in the match day squad at the weekend (the bench obviously after last night's performance)
-
No we didn't miss him last night. But he has been a good servant to the club and it will be a sad state of affairs if he doesn't get to say a proper goodbye to the fans on Saturday. He deserves a place in the squad, if it was anything other than injury as to why he was missing last night then it is a joke imo. Zeefuik and Poveda shouldn't have been given a place on the bench ahead of him.
-
Any word on Nyambe's absence from TM?
-
Nyambe not even on the bench Poveda on the bench.Hedges, Rothwell and Buckley start
-
Where have I defended Venkys?Iv always said they are shit owners. Only defence iv ever given them is over the backing they have given Mowbray.I know YOU only count transfer fees spent which imo is nonsense because all the other players who have been brought in on loan/,Free transfers have cost a pretty penny over their time at the club, not to mention them signing off on stupid contracts for ageing players based on Mowbrays recommendations. Plus the man has never been forced to sell one player.2 first teamers sold in 5 years. I would have sold Rothwell but I honestly think if a similar situation arose at another club the owners would be thinking long and hard over selling a star man to a team at the time we were competing directly with for second place. There would have been uproar by many if he had signed for Bournemouth and our season imploded which it probably would have done anyway with Mowbrays track record.

https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/tony-mowbray-blackburn-rovers-future-23769328 Definitely doesn't sound like someone who would turn down a new deal If offered.
-
He should have kept his mouth shut. You are like Mowbrays guardian angel defending his honour. He had been Informed of the owners decision. He knew he wasn't being sold.So he should not have been speaking about it. Like it or lump it , it's the owners money running the club and you are daft you believe the managers say is final at other clubs. The point my initial post on this matter was making, was it was a no win situation for the owners Just because You believe that doing what Mowbray asked was the right way I believe majority of fans would have been more angry at selling him to a promotion rival. Maybe we could have bought another Hedges with the money and kept them on the bench till next season.
