On Reed perhaps he is being brought in due to us not being able to get that Trapp from Columbus crew, perhaps Southampton don't want to sell Reed?, a couple of loans without options are ok Reed and Palmer both options without obligations improve us. If we got Reed on a loan to buy some would be complaining that we have too many midfielders and should be spending our money on a winger and a striker. If he is coming in on a cheap deal at least the guy seems to want to get back playing football. With the money the guy made at Everton, City and Sunderland he could retire and live comfortably for the rest of his days. There is no doubt that he was a talent, you don't have two big money transfers and represent England if you have nothing about you.If it's a cheap deal it looks like a no lose deal for us

Well Mowbray did say in his interview last night there will be more exciting signings other than a free agent over the next 9 days. Would have probably been better to announce Rodwell after that buisness was done though. If he is coming in on a cheap deal and short term contract with the incentive of a longer deal then I don't have a problem with it at all can understand why some fans are against it at the same time though

We are still in talks about Brereton.So that 8 million or whatever could still get spent.Going for Rodwell and Reed doesn't mean we have moved away from Brereton

I can't disagree but I do think Reed would be much better than Smallwood although admittedly I didn't see much of Reed for Norwich but from reading up on it seems he did quite well

Why though?He played 39 times for Norwich in this league last year. It would be better being a loan to buy but maybe he is a short term option until that Trapp or another player becomes available, or perhaps it's because Mowbray doesn't feel Davenport is ready yet but will be, or Rothwell needs to work on his discipline before he trusts him enough to play as 1 of the 2. It could be a loan to buy anyway but if just a season loan surely it would be better to have him as an option instead of Smallwood rather than not

I like Travis too but I do think at his age he should be playing regular football. Playing the odd game or getting 10 minutes every now and again isn't going to benefit him or us in the long term. Mowbray did mention that he expects more exciting and expensive signings over the next 9 days and attacking players are harder to get so I'm just taking Mowbray at his word and we will be bringing in some attacking talent before the close of buisness

Looks like Travis going on loan.Doubt we will see Whittingham again in a rovers shirt, Davenport injured, Smallwood not looking up to it at this level, not sure Mowbray trusts Rothwell to have the discipline to play that position yet. We have numbers not so sure about the quality but if we are bringing in Harrison Reed then don't see why we need Rodwell too. It is in the forward area's where we need to be concentrating on but looks like nothing happening until next week

Correct decision by the club if he isn't going to play to be fair. I'd like to see TM being a little braver and start Rothwell a little deeper

If we sign Reed it will be to play in my opinion,Travis needs to play for development, if he isn't going to play much then he should go on loan. Not sure about Davenport, his injury could mean him out for longer than expected or TM doesn't think he is ready. If we sign both both Reed and Rodwell then we will have 8 players that can play in midfield,Reed, Rothwell,Rodweell, Travis, Davenport ,Bennett, Smallwood and Evans.

I don't know Chaddy, Mowbray in that interview talking about his time at Everton and City and saying if he does come in the fans need to give him a chance. If we sign both both Reed and Rodwell, we will have those 2, Smallwood, Evans, Travis, Davenport and Rothwell that can play in midfield.Im presuming either Davenports injury is worst than first thought or Mowbray doesn't think he is ready. I presumw Travis will be going on loan?
