We haven’t had a quick team for many seasons. The odd player with a bit of pace but as a collective, so slow and one of the key reasons why we never seem to move forward and won’t until this is properly acknowledged and remedied. -

Given our atrocious record, once going behind, and capacity for shipping more late goals than any other team, I suppose we have to be thankful for the point. Just noticed Ipswich yet again scored two very late goals to grab the points. I made the point to my Tractor Boy pal that very late goals augur well and by contrast, really can’t remember the last time we managed a late goal, probably Hedges at Huddersfield last season. Last at the death winner I can readily recall was Lenihan at Forest but surely it can’t be that far back 🤷♂️ -

I watched him in the warm up before the Knob End match and he was very tidy with the ball, only one who put the ball in the net every time. Surely an upgrade on Garrett, that lad is nowhere near ready for this level, yet. -

Not sure about Remy but Dunny was there with his young lad. -
If you are a striker and don’t get an early goal, it becomes a real problem, often insurmountable. Corrado Grabbi was a really talented player but it just wouldn’t go in for him and the confidence drained, Chris Brown was hopeless but you get my drift. Telhalovic hit the post on his debut at Hull and in a couple of games he has gone really close at the death but should have scored both. Fine margins, sliding doors and all that.

My pal is a big Ipswich fan and exchanged text with him at weekend saying yet another late goal and that augurs well. Contrasted it with us, saying I couldn’t remember the last time we had got a late leveller or winner but that we had conceded more goals after 75/80 minutes than any team in the league.

After the disastrous end to the window, Swag, Sylvester and Broughton are still in post. How on earth is that possible in anything but a totally dysfunctional business 🤷♂️ -

With O’Brien and a striker last January, there was every chance we would be in the EPL.- 9495 replies

For me, he’s the best manager we have had since Big Sam. He gave us hope, dared to dream and connected with the fan base, for once an honest man who told it as it was. Unless this shit show is the beginning of the end for Swag and forces the Raos to sell, we will have lost our best hope and a talent manager for nowt. Thank you and farewell Jon, you did your best to deliver our Rovers back to the downbeaten fan base.- 9495 replies

That *was* the January Window
Penwortham Blue replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Given Ennis wasn’t getting a game, I would imagine that a move to Stoke on similar, if not better money and nearer to his hometown Wolverhampton would have been a dream move. Given this, I doubt there was any requirement for us to sweeten it by paying up any of his contract. -

From a source who undertakes all the registrations at another EFL club very close to us, if the Fleck deal was submitted after the Maguire deal, they would have known Maguire hadn’t been submitted when they logged on to deal with Fleck.
