  1. Then don’t wait until the last hours of a window before you get to target no 29
  2. Once more, evidence that other comparable clubs are managing to get deals over the line to give their supporters a boost and themselves a chance.
  3. Many feel like this, look at our thousands of lost ST holders. But if the 8,500 of us now left give up, what hope is left for this once great, world renowned football club that we all still love. There are some things that you just can’t give up on and for me, that is my football club.
  4. It makes little sense, they have a chance to really give it a go with the prospect of future potential upside. Without play offs and a promotion chance and a seemingly unfettered determination to hold on to their ‘baby’, they are just locking themselves into perpetual, and deteriorating cash drain with no upside.
  5. He had his moments, the winner at Maine Road, ‘Curry too hot to handle’ and the glorious last minute ‘winner’ that never was at White Hart Lane against Gaza’s and a star studded Spurs. I was celebrating so much in the away end, it was ages before I realised it was disallowed ☹️
  6. Yep, I was really excited by Martin Dhalin but we didn’t see the best of him.
  7. Excellent post. Before we all capitulate to the we can’t compete line, it needs to be remembered that other clubs without the financial clout, still compete on the pitch, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Luton, Millwall etc. To be fair though, at this moment we are competing and with a better window, we should have been able to sustain a play off push.
  8. Sorry for being pedantic but Waggott doesn’t confirm it was a medical failure, Sharpe reports as this what was widely assumed / reported. Mowbray was very tetchy about it at the time and also never confirmed it was a medical failure.
  9. No one has ever confirmed what happened but he was back quickly playing at Bordeaux and then Stoke City. In any event, I am sure he doesn’t look on Blackburn Rovers too favourably.
  10. He was excellent in his first game at home to Newcastle, he just missed a number of chances. He was fast and was there to miss them but then he went and got sent off, I think it was Arsenal and then that was it. Debuts / first few games often determine trajectory, good strikers generally score on debut or quickly thereafter and if they don’t, it generally doesn’t go well. Corrado Grabbi looked really good in the early games, nearly scored on debut, was really unlucky not to score against Utd but it just wouldn’t go in for him and the rest is history.
  11. Be surprised if Maja would even consider us after previously coming over to sign, sitting around all day and then told, thanks but no thanks.
  12. I would have thought Mardon would be all over this one 😊 He could be the difference for Watford, at least has the potential to fire them into the play offs as has a track record. No doubt far too expensive for our A list and we are now probably on F, as the deadline approaches.
  13. The last trick that the miscreants running our club can turn, is a profit ! Penny rich, pound foolish and the only way of reversing the fortunes and halting losses is to re engage with supporters and try and bring the club back to life, on and off the pitch.
  14. I think McNair is a good player, capable in midfield and Centre Back. No idea how Lenihan keeps him out of the Boro side.
  15. I would have taken Hugill as well but we obviously weren’t interested as surely, we could at least beat the Millers to a player 🙈
  16. I’ve always liked Clarke-Harris since he played at Ewood for Rotherham, a good few years back. Not the quickest but strong and physical and seems to score well at League 1 level and did ok for Posh last year in the Championship.

  18. Another in same vein is Michael Smith at Wednesday, I would have been in for him ex Rotherham at beginning of season. Little chance of leaving Wednesday when promotion this year looks a certainty, also better playing in front of big Hillsborough crowds, than the morgue that Ewood has sadly become 😞
  19. Would anyone have taken Jordan Hugill ? He might have offered a physical 9 to get on the end of Sorba crosses and hold up for Dack and BBD, if still with us.
  20. Without the knuckle draggers connection, just the type we need, a bit of passion for the badge and likes a battle. As it is, the last team on earth that he would consider as the welcome would be far from warm.
  21. Had a good season last year, a lot of assists and 6 this year in a poorly performing team. Under long term contract at HTFC but apparently frozen out and so more likely, a loan. Not a bad player but heartbreaking to see how low our club has fallen
