  1. And the family head and owner, Edwin lives in Osbaldeston but the flip side is that it hasn’t made much money for the last few years and it apparently for sale.
  2. We are desperate for cash, slashing playing budgets by 20% last year, forcing Adam W out the door to pay the bills and once again appear to have no budget for signings. Against this background, Swag takes the moral high ground and decides to forego the betting company coin and signs up the local solicitors for a small fee and a bag of revels ! Unbelievable
  3. Brilliant, had many a good night at the Windmill in the early 80’s.
  4. A reasonable point that just emphasises where this club has fallen to and of course, who is to blame for the shame of our deadline day fiascos, Swag plus Pune.
  5. I imagine it was Totally Wicked who pulled the plug rather than Swag being proactive. If it was the latter, he has failed miserably and as you say, what a damning endorsement of the lack of aspiration this bloke is driving into our club. ‘We are doing all we can’ with no pressure on the manager to achieve anything other than survival and the local jobbing solicitors as the club’s major sponsor. No wonder JDT totally despised Swag, called him out whenever the opportunity arose and bailed out of our club despite loving the Ribble Valley life and the supporters and soul of the once proud Blackburn Rovers.
  6. In ICI Perspex, we used to have a world renowned Blue Chip sponsor in the 1980’s under Bill Fox and then subsequently, McEwans Lager a leading brand of the 90’s and another brand of great local and international standing in Crown Paints. Shows just how much Swag the commercial incompetent has failed this once great club and brand.
  7. Exactly my point, the financial outlay that WR can offer will be so limited that it will hardly cover Swag’s salary nevermind significantly boosting revenues to mitigate any FFP limitations. Maybe, that is Swag’s game 🤷‍♂️
  8. I qualified my thoughts as being a guess. However, I have headed up > £100m EBITDA businesses and sponsored major sporting events and clubs at different financial levels and don’t think my guessing will be too far out from the reality.
  9. My brother is still boycotting on the NAPM basis, there are still a good few out there who would return if the incompetents left.
  10. It will be peanuts, my guess is probably less than £150k whilst most other clubs at this level would be ashamed of a main commercial deal of less than £2m per annum. It really is shameful evidence of the decline of our once great club and the incompetence of Swag and his commercial team.
  11. The death of a football club, Netflix could make a really depressing series on the destruction of a world famous institution.
  12. Nothing against Watson Ramsbottom, I’m sure that they are a fine firm of local solicitors but from a commercial and brand perspective, this really would be scraping the barrel and shows just how far this club has fallen. We are the famous Blackburn Rovers, founder members and previous Champions of the FL and EPL and yet the incompetent commercial team come up with a major shirt sponsor and financial deal more appropriate to Bamber Bridge / Clitheroe FC level. I’m obviously more concerned about what happens on the pitch but to me this is just further evidence that Swag is totally incompetent.
  13. Another young lad not prepared to give anything or show any loyalty to the club that has developed him from a young age. I can understand it but still think it is shameful to walk before signing first professional contract with the developing club.
  14. Peter White and Alf Thornton would be turning in their graves.
  15. I’m all for giving someone a chance but blowing smoke up arse of the owners, Suhail and Swag doesn’t sit comfortably with me. I wish he could have just focussed on the current shit show and how we can, and must improve.
  16. If Mowbray was still in charge, Adam would still be kicking his heels with the juniors. A special player and one of our own but he owes JDT a hell of a lot.
  17. I salute you, ruggles1995. Like I have for over 40 years, I’ll be buying one, more out of duty than any sense of hope or excitement. Simply, if I don’t get one, I feel like I am giving up on my club and I refuse to let Swag or the Pune lunatics drive me away.
  18. Would take Paddy McNair and NW location might suit him. I doubt Andy Cole would let his son anywhere near Swag, ripped him off when he signed for the Toon.
  19. Yep and basically stole our play off place, no thanks.
  20. Wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up back at Coventry. He was abysmal last year, slow and not the leader you need when in the trenches.
  21. I was also there that day and the play off match in May. I’ve never been more devastated after a match than that play off defeat and have hated Palace ever since. It has been a great move for Adam but I really wish he had ended up almost anywhere else than Selhurst Park.
  22. Daren’t risk him, he knows how important he will be to our tournament hopes.
