With respect Chaddy, you aren’t a professional footballer.

Why do I have an opinion? Have I spoken about it? Rothwell gets dropped for every alternative player that comes along. Pretty clear Mowbray doesn’t fancy him - regardless of what he says in the press. He always says one thing and does another. -
Very very worrying. He cannot be happy with that performance. He certainly didn’t look happy judging by the number of times he had his head in his hands on the touchline. First 15 minutes and last 10. That aside we were outplayed. By Luton. At home.
-
Of course players need a bollocking. Even from each other. Not least because most of them are overgrown school kids. That aside you, can’t argue that we aren’t inconsistent by only referring to the positives.

Having Bennett as captain has set the tone. And gave us another long-service-award to a midfielder who now must play and is being shoehorned in at right back. Mediocrity is ok as long as you put a shift in and ‘care’. Last time that happened was when Coyle did exactly the same trick with Jason Lowe and de facto relegated us. You couldn’t make it up that Mowbray has repeated history. You don’t necessarily need your best quality player as captain but you really need it not to be a fifth choice midfielder played at full back and struggling. We are thin on the ground with leaders as you point out. Who is undroppable right now and puts a shift in as a quality player. In the absence of anyone else why not Dack?
-
Then you will get what Mowbray gets: inconsistency and as many defeats as wins. ??♂️ And nobody to bollock the players when they need it. All too nice.

Nice bit of research, well presented. Not convinced that Rothwell and Nyambe will be here much longer I’m afraid. I’d absolutely love Mols to get a chance but I don’t think he’s a Mowbray player. The elephant in the room is whether Mowbray is also in the left hand box... -
Both built on solid defences and wide men. And a fella (or two) who knows where the goal is. Would love to see someone break the mould and re-fashion a 4-4-2 side and scare the shit out of teams!

Interesting thread/research. We do seem to lack a presence on the pitch. Our captain is said to be “the voice of reason” in the dressing room who we hear more stories of apologising on social media rather than bouncing tea cups off changing room walls. Our better quality players seem to be quiet or young. Dack, Downing, Travis, Graham. Don’t see any shouters there. Not sure that shouters are Mowbray’s style. A lot was made of team spirit in the L1 season but that is easier to pull on when you are winning nearly every week. Not so easy when you are having to dig deep just to remain competitive. There are pockets of improvement but while the manager operates a rotation policy (that works when you have the best squad in the division, and keeps players fresh), I’m yet to be convinced that changing our midfield/attack every game helps when your squad is top 10 rather than top 2. There is definitely a fight missing somewhere but I guess when you play well and still have to take your turn on the bench it could be difficult to stay motivated. He needs to find his best team and stick with it until there are injuries. I thought it was interesting that he went back to the exact same starting line up that lost to West Brom despite back to back wins in between. Is it just completely random or is this Mowbray’s preferred XI? Tbf, it looks decent on paper but it’s clear that Graham should still be starting instead of Gallagher and on form, Rothwell should be playing ahead of Armstrong. Sadly Rothwell always seems to be the one to lose out with a knock or mysterious illness. Maybe he’s just not North East enough?

Yes it is but let’s not pretend it is a ‘today’ attendance.
-
No way did those kids pay for tickets today. Fair play to them for turning up - some of them in madrasah uniforms but it really shouldn’t be seen as a genuine increase in the gate.
-
Who? I just see a lot of people resigned to stagnation. We have come full circle really from where we were when Bowyer was here.
-
I had a feeling someone would fall for that one. The BBE upper was open and full of school kids and other groups. Presumably on free tickets.
-
There are times when I can’t even tell what formation we are playing or who is meant to be in what position. It’s like some overthought moving around of players to try to confuse the opposition. Oh, for a manager who picks his best players in their best positions and take games to the opposition.
-
Demoted to the U23s.
-
I’d laugh if it wasn’t so true. Despite Mowbray’s pithy rhetoric I fully expect Armstrong to play on Tuesday. Gally would depend on which bingo ball pops out. Surely Graham has to start? Wonder if Rothwell’s cough will have cleared up by then? (Maybe it’s a smokers cough? ???)

I’m sure people will blame the ref and the disallowed goal (anyone know why?) but that was the Rovers worst performance I’ve seen in a long time. Battling to try to get a draw at home to Luton just isn’t good enough. Gallagher simply cannot offer what Danny Graham offers, he’s far too lightweight. Armstrong doesn’t have a cutting edge despite his supposed pace. Johnson was clearly injured and had to come off but Mowbray left it. When he finally did make changes - the right ones for a change - they were too late. Not sure why on earth he brought on Samuel on the wing though! Without Travis we’d have been hammered in midfield. Great strike from him - finally plucking up the courage to have a go. We may have stumbled on a decent centre back partnership but neither is any good in the air. This must be resolved if we have any aspirations of top 6. So so disappointed with that today.

Embarrassing

This first half has actually been anger-inducing. Until their goal there was only one team in it. Then we absolutely went to pieces. Great strike from Trav but we need to do much better in the second half.
-
Not convinced about Armstrong and Gallagher. They both need to be scoring today though.
-
Rothwell must still be “ill”.
-
-
I don’t know why anyone thought that would work. The only response was for existing season ticket holders to look up from their newspapers, slightly lift the front of their flat caps, just far enough to half-raise an eyebrow and scratch their forehead, before a lamentable sigh and shake of the head and back to the classifieds.

7 years to the day since the imposter left, as we continue to endure his rotten legacy. Well done and thanks to the “1%” who never gave up fighting and maintained the conditions which ultimately forced him out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/19736471 https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2012/sep/28/steve-kean-resign-blackburn-rovers We won’t be rid of his stench until we are back in the PL but having worried that he would never go, the relief on 29th September 2012 was palpable. Never forgive, never forget.

He has nothing about him and/or Mowbray isn’t using him properly. What you forget is that these “wobble heads” have seen a heck of a lot more players than you over the years - and more Rovers players than Mowbray ever will. Their opinions do actually count even if they don’t have coaching badges. Brereton was a poor signing. Something some fans will only admit once he leaves. He won’t be the first nor the last.
