  1. You get what you pay for. JW upper has always been premium seating. One of the main reasons I don’t sit there. Especially as I pay for 3 season tickets.
  2. The standard on show tonight between two former PL sides was embarrassing. I felt sorry for both sets of fans having to watch that. And then self-pity about our own prospects.
  3. £23 a month to watch Dundee United once a fortnight or £8 a month to watch Netflix 365 days a year? The volumes just don’t add up for that kind of comparison. Wonder what the upper limit would be for people to part with all year round - including the Summer when there is no football. Would tickets for friendlies be included to keep the interest up? I’d be ok with £30 per month for a 23 home game season. £35 would be testing it. £40 would be a no. If we are having a crap season could people cancel their subscription? Could club’s budget for that? There would need to be a commitment over a fixed period - ideally the full season but if someone cancelled on 1st June, would they be permitted to re-subscribe on 1st August? By the time you’ve implemented all the necessary rules you’d end up back an STDD situation.
  4. They’d still have more about them in 2019 in the Championship than Brereton and Gallagher!
  5. I don’t think he has nothing but I’m struggling to think what his strengths are. We seem to struggle for strikers with pace, strength, and an eye for goal. It’s one or none.
  6. I can’t remember Gallagher making an effective header. I’d say he is poor at them.
  7. Just trying to explain the logic. You find me a single player who plays for free. In the sense that we didn’t make a loss on his transfer fee. I expect that may be different with Ben Brereton for example.
  8. Unless you count wages, we sold for a higher price than we bought.
  9. Fair points. If we want wing play, better but wingers. Or maybe play Chapman. I expect he hasn't met some stat or other in training yet. The kind of stat that kept Jason Lowe as a first team starter for years, and keeps Rothwell on the bench.
  10. *skips to 28:30 in each episode* In all seriousness though, the energy that goes into doing stuff like this for a niche within a niche within a niche is outstanding.
  11. That’s what happened yesterday isn’t it? Both he and Rothwell our wide and then criticised for going inside rather than trying to get crosses over to... Dack and Armstrong. (5’9 and 5’8 respectively - and up against 6’3 Leistner and 6’2 Barbet). Mowbray regularly talks about pinging balls in but doesn’t have a header of the ball in the squad!
  12. I think 4 goals at home will achieve boos but I think we are still a way away from “out” chants.
  13. He wouldn’t have survived the 11 game run last season. Think big!
  14. It’s not about boring football. Do you really think that’s the complaint? It’s about where we are and where we need to be. We need to be challenging for the final play-off spot yet we look nowhere near - and increasingly further away the longer time goes on. Do people think this is a blip and that he will get back on track? Do people feel he is building a capable squad? Failed big money buys and short term loan fixes suggest not. So it comes down to how long people think we should be patient for - the most important people being the Raos. If they lose interest at any point before we are promoted it’s curtains.
  15. Ah I’ve missed this. ”Giant, big, medium, small, minnows” ? Bit surprised you consider Nob end as a small club and Burnley as a medium one. Very honest but a surprise nonetheless. Also funny that you see Blackpool as a minnow when the have been in the PL - unlike you lot! I can only assume you are talking about money rather than status/history. Birmingham are not a big club, they are a small club in a big city.
  16. Not sure why you do this. It’s as though you are trying to prove that Mowbray is the only option. We should absolutely be sounding out Mark Hughes with a view to a change before the January window opens.
  17. “I you know anything about football...” Why does he say “transition” instead of counter-attack? Why does he talk about defending and attacking like it’s one of the other? Other teams manage to do both - it isn’t rocket science to we don’t need tacti-babble. When we decided to abandon our defensive shape in search for goals (at 1-0 down and despite taking off our goalscorer) he blamed our defenders for not dealing with the situation. So he doesn’t trust his defence and has to use midfielders to bolster it which neutralises our attacking ability? Is that really what he is saying? It seems as though midfield is the only area to focus on. Maybe if he had done some proper recruitment in defence instead of lopping chunks off it they might be able to come better. Interesting too that Damien Johnson is the one who appears to have been asked to look after the defence. A future scapegoat? We need better ideas, better mentality, better “character”, better recruitment and positive football, not just positive talk. If Mowbray can’t make those changes then he has to make way for someone who can.
  18. Interesting to hear him immediately say that Cunningham wouldn’t be be going on international duty but admitted he had “no idea” what was wrong with him having “not spoken to the physios”. Could be a mini-club-v-country-row in the offing! Seemed to be under some illusion that we could have scored more goals and that we were undone by a team playing in the break after absorbing our first half attacking style. Very defensive and dismissive. The worry - aside from not bringing in a goal scorer (despite being more than able to afford one) was always injuries to defenders. We may now have that problem coming back to bite Mowbray.
  19. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/october/williams-called-up-by-ireland/ Looks like we might be about to find out just how much depth we had in defence. Williams and Bennett both had shockers today but it looks like Bell - Williams - Adarabioyo - Bennett will become our back line by default. Let’s hope those scans are both clear!
  20. I stand corrected on the club but he got the job done. We brought in the wrong bloke for the job as many thought when he was appointed. Now we need to decide if he is the man to take us any further.
  21. Some of our players will start the next game. From those highlights alone, Bennett and Williams certainly shouldn’t. No doubt Rothwell will be made a scapegoat by the man who at 1-0 down took off our only striker.
  22. 45 points at stake and we got less than half. That shows a lack of ideas and even fight - the kind we are seeing now. QPR may have got the rub of Wagner’s green but, even so, Redknapp kept them up.
  23. So you disagree with the list of managers who - in my opinion - would have kept us up while Mowbray didn’t? Or did you not read that far in your haste to score points?
  24. Point to all the stats you like. He just isn’t a good Championship manager. Not since he abandoned they very formula that made him a successful one. Warnock, Redknapp, Allardyce, Pulis would all have kept us up. Relegation worked out very well indeed for a very pragmatic Mowbray.
  25. So at worst relegation and at best another wasted season and more debt. I want to say that we have a decent squad but in reality we need two solid centre backs, a right back, permanent replacements for left back and goalkeeper and a goal scorer (possibly two). Pretty damning really. However, I still believe that with the tools we have this season, with the right manager, we could and should be challenging for that 6th spot.
