  1. I was watching Johnno throw balls up to the defenders before the Luton game and remember thinking that he looks less likely to take over now than he did a year ago. He appears to have been neutralised after upstaging Mowbray last season. Things are too cushy for all concerned really. Venus and Lowe look like they have got tenure as long as Big T is here. We need some new ideas but instead it looks as though it’s “Mowbray’s Plan A” or bust.
  2. Good point you make. Mowbray should have saved us from relegation given he had that long. I seemed to recall it was later than that.
  3. You did ask! I can’t see a change either. Not unless Waggott goes as well. Great little set up really. We had our worst ever run under Mowbray last season (1 win in 11, including 9 defeats) and nothing changed. The only question mark would be how Venkys feel about wasting millions on duds. Personally I doubt they are that bothered as it just gets added to the debt.
  4. Mixed. I think you will share the frustration for a few hours and by Monday will be looking forward to the next game. Then after the next win you’ll be telling us all to back the manager.
  5. I really hope he stays off social media tonight. Making him captain was a huge mistake if he wasn’t first choice in midfield. A right back he isn’t.
  6. What does Chaddy think on BRFCS though?
  7. It seems that we are going to see a mysterious illness/injury in midfield every match. The imbalance in the squad is now as bad as it ever was under Bowyer and we cannot put out a play-off standard first XI despite spending a fortune, compared to other non-parachute clubs. Mowbray has fallen on his feet at Rovers: held harmless for relegation, promoted with a great team at a level meeting his abilities, and a bang average Championship record. But - exactly like Bowyer - the fear is that we would get worse and that somehow we owe Mowbray. Well, in my view he owes us. And he owes us better than we are seeing. August was written off because of the opposition (on paper) - a free pass. The start of September he did reasonably ok but the last three have been really really poor. 1 point out of 9 against the teams we have faced is an awful return. We are now just as many points away from the play-offs as we are the relegation zone. I wonder if there is any Plan B - whether from Mowbray (certainly no evident during games) - or from Venkys...?
  8. I think you’re absolutely right. That will work in the third tier especially if you can pay great wages relative to everyone else. Not sure that translates to the Championship and I think we are now on that wheel where we don’t really go anywhere.
  9. It’s interesting seeing the other players who share agencies with our existing players and then the names we get linked to - and even sign.
  10. ...while feeling like you belong to a ‘club’ can do wonders for it. (Yes, I know you were joking). Which is why fans need to be engaged and valued rather than simply pumped for cash and thrown stupid gimmicks like the £300-lottery-ticket-for-a-£10,000-prize scheme. More fool anyone who bought the 8,598th season ticket on the back of that ‘incentive’.
  11. Like I said, interesting coincidence. Nyambe’s form dropping when he changed agents and being dropped. Yet other players walk on water.
  12. Yeah that’s the one I’m talking about. Don’t think he has gone into coaching having been a solicitor for 20 years. Interesting side note though based on this source... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/crown-football-ltd/beraterfirma/berater/3590 Crown Football Ltd is an agency of Simon Conning. Walton and Gallagher are signed to them. Ryan Nyambe used to be with Crown but is now with Midas. Nyambe was a regular but now no longer gets in the first team. Interesting coincidence... (Where is JAL these days?)
  13. I assumed he was talking to Mowbray in a professional capacity. Isn’t he a solicitor and agent?
  14. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17945135.mowbray-provides-rovers-fitness-update-trio-miss-training/ Trio miss training: “Stewy“ Downing, “Fuck Off” Derrick and “someone else who I can’t remember”! I don’t know what we are all worried about. Finger well and truly on the pulse!! ??‍♂️
  15. There’s an easy answer to that. Competition for places should be huge. If Graham is having an “Indian Season” then it could be argued that it’s down to having two new strikers breathing down his neck. Those who want to replace him now have to up their game. Benching Graham to play Gallagher et al is cutting of your nose and making the rest of the team play with one hand behind their back at present. Also, Brereton and Samuel are too good for the U23s but not ready for the first team. Nuttall was sold on for that. Had it not been for the money spent Brereton would have suffered a similar fate - at least on loan. Forest well and truly pulled our pants down. Some very poor scouting went on there.
  16. A team worth paying to watch but... Personally I’d drop Arma for him.
  17. Another thing: we really need new supporter ‘anthems’. Are there really no creative minds left any more? As soon as we scored we had the ridiculous Burnley songs, straight out of the BBE mouths. As soon as we conceded - while still chanting about Burnley - even more Burnley-hating songs. We are absolutely obsessed - it’s embarrassing. Then the same folk say “back the lads”. I get that you want to generate some noise/passion but surely we can sing about Rovers and not that lot?
  18. If we’d have beaten Luton then yes. 4 points from 6 is better than a measly 1. However, as we see time and time again, we need to get the result that is on offer during the match, not the one that we think we might before the game.
  19. We can’t continue only playing football for the last 10-20 mins. We have a gem of a footballer who can only get a bench spot at best, and strikers who don’t score - or even look like scoring. Our goal was well worked but ultimately fortunate. Forest’s was a great strike #WDL
  20. Can’t believe Rothwell isn’t starting. And after everything Mowbray said?? Just the usual tombola midfield game after game. Armstrong and Gallagher backed again instead of being asked to get their heads down in training and work hard to get into the starting eleven. Holtby will probably (possibly) be ready by January.
  21. They weren’t my words but you are close enough with that attempt. You’ve added your own narrative to that. Sometimes players just don’t hang around. Mowbray and Rothwell aren’t a good fit. It’s as clear as day.
  22. No, you’ve made that up. Try again.
  23. Ha! Got me there. But if you still don’t think that professional footballers need bollocking from time to time then you are deluded.
  24. I’m not sure if you are being satirical or not. How many players do you speak to before posting? Also, how many starts has Rothwell had this season?
