Forget what Waggott will or won’t do, based on his performance as manager to this point, should Mowbray stay or go?
-
I honestly think the players will be even more delighted than fans when Mowbray goes. He has taken nearly every player backwards, although they may be looked after off the field, on it they are being asked to play in roles that are alien and don’t get the best out of them. He could almost claim Travis but he is likely to have to leave to avoid the malaise and he cuts a frustrated figure. Nyambe and Armstrong the two main ones who have stood out. A club without money to spend (which seemingly we are - despite wealthy owners and the sanctioning of £14m in transfer fees over the last two Summers - needs to get the most out of the players it has. Start by playing strikers as strikers and midfielders not at full back.

Absolutely boracic lint and yet an extra months wages handed out to players who don’t play!
-
I’m expecting relegation next season then. Do they really want fans to attend when there is absolutely nothing to look forward to? THIS squad can’t even beat Barnsley, just how bad can it get? What exactly is the point of Venkys if the books have to balance ticket and TV income against running costs and wages? Ten years of these absolute bastards!

At a guess, he‘s the right type of character in the dressing room. I’m starting to think the ‘right type of character’ is one who hears the team sheet and cheers, even if it means they are playing in a position they’ve never even played in junior football.

To go 4-3-3 we need far better defenders than we have today. I kind of see Dack as the second striker in a 4-4-1-1. Someone posted on another thread about having Brezza and Gally up top in a 4-4-2. It would be an interesting experiment for the run in.

It’s looking like we are going to need a heck of a facelift in the close season - although Mowbray will no doubt still try to get tunes out of Gallagher and Brereton, presumably still playing both out wide. Personally I reckon there are five players in our senior squad that we should keep and the rest need replacing, either because loans end or simply because they aren’t good enough. There is a possibility that a different manager could breathe new life into a few others: Downing, Rothwell, Holtby, maybe even the two above but I just can’t see how anything is going to change without a change in the dugout.
-
I’d prefer a manager of the ilk you mention but I’d take Mark Hughes back in a heartbeat.
-
Mowbray is now the longest serving Championship manager.
-
The bold bit just reminds me of Jason Lowe. The exact same statement could apply. And did! It seems that under certain managers the captaincy goes to the player who runs furthest and longest in training. Somehow setting the bar for player fitness presumably. Personally I prefer a real leader on the pitch and someone who will bollock players who don’t perform. If they don’t have one at the club then buy one. What they mustn’t do is pick someone who they feel obliged to pick because they are captain. The players won’t respect him. Or the manager.

Hope you’re right!

Three wins below the play-offs. Four wins above the relegation places. This is a very tight division, when you get up there you have to make it count. Next season could be the opposite situation.
-
Just watching Buckley (who I rate) ambling across the pitch while Leeds play the ball forward. A young lad who has just come on, and I can’t help but think that this is a side going through the motions. Has Mowbray lost the dressing room yet?
-
Amazing pass that. Definite dive. Walton couldn’t have done much else than try to block.
-
Not quite but according to someone on here, he said at an event: “The only way Mowbray is leaving is if he walks into my office and says he’s had enough”. If you dig hard enough you’ll probably find the post.
-
A few errors there but Walton again just doesn’t have what it takes.
-
Worst run of any Rovers manager since the war. From quotes attributed to Waggott, there will be nobody even assessing where Rovers are, where they need to be, and whether Mowbray can deliver that. We are totally reliant on Mowbray admitting defeat.
-
Cracking free kick
-
When is it meant to start?
-
Last season we had a run of 1 point from 21 and one win in eleven games (including nine defeats). Nobody flinched.
-
Are they even in training let alone being match fit? We should be getting a new manager in to assess this squad ready for next season. It really doesn’t feel like there is anything to be positive about right now. We are just watching an ‘almost season’ peter out. Anyone got any positives? Dack coming back and unlikely to leave this Summer? Our transfer business could be hanging on to Travis and Lenihan at this rate? So much to do with this squad after four Championship windows.

He’s a right footer playing on the left. Just another square peg in Mowbray’s box of round holes.
-
Maybe away teams should bring their own tapes and the two clubs’ DJs can have a crowd-noise-battle during the game. At least it would give viewers some entertainment. I volunteer @K-Hod for Rovers
-
Have Rovers turned off the crowd noise? It seemed to help in the first game while its absence very much didn’t in the last two.
