  1. Gallagher needs to be moved on this Summer.
  2. Funny isn’t it. Lots of people would have said that the last two games weren’t “must-win“, based on some points-related technicality. Yet they were because those same people have already thrown away the next three games (unless we scab a win) with their usual post-match defeatist: ‘well you can’t be expect to beat the team top of the league’. Ordinarily I have a good feeling about games against Leeds because we’ve been their bogey side in the past but I just have no faith in Mowbray to not put out a side to looking for a 0-0. I’d prefer him on the bench but if Bennet has to start, get him on the right of midfield.
  3. I just wish more people had listened to you and the team at the time - especially the Sweet F.A.
  4. The trouble is, such is the current feeling, I could well believe Waggott would sell 7000 cardboard cut outs and fill the away stand with them. And Leeds are just about mad enough to pay! He will be weeping today at the loss of those away gate receipts.
  5. It’s all relative. But ok, crap is probably harsh, he’s stayed up 2 out of three times. I’ll downgrade to mediocre.
  6. that’s very big of you. For some reason you’ve started getting very personal over this and a few other things recently. Hope everything is ok out there in the real world. The reason our season is over is the obvious one: Mowbray. He picked Mulgrew because he is a crap manager. This crapness is further evidenced by the fact that he has neglected our defence to the point of dereliction. Lenihan deciding to go to the hospital instead of driving there after the game was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. And now our season is over.
  7. Quite interesting that Rovers have been relegated twice. Once because of a guy on the inside and once because of a decision by another team to make 10 player changes. Food for thought.
  8. Still worked out pretty well. It’s not about sharing the job, it’s about being a good manager. Plus any excuse to post a photo of Mark Hughes...
  9. Clippers. Number 2. That’s genius! ?? ?? ??
  10. Have a read of the thread below the tweet I posted. It goes into detail that I suspect The Guardian cannot.

  12. A bet on relegation... hmmm ?
  13. I actually think he could be a good L1 manager, providing he has funding. He’s not really old enough to retire unless he has made his millions and can afford to spend his days playing golf and scouting. If he does go, it’s no longer clear if we have a ready-to-go understudy in Damien Johnson. His transition to first team coach was extremely successful in removing a potential Mowbray rival and the pressure that was starting to build by having a very successful development team manager at the club. Here’s hoping for another attempt at bringing in a proven manager (and not with the last success on the CV being a decade ago like Mowbray and Coyle) - particularly if FFP being relaxed a little means we have a reasonable budget in the Summer. Mowbray must surely have had his last war chest from Venkys. I’d like to see us look at the European market.
  14. That contingent is quickly becoming a larger percentage as the fanbase gets smaller and smaller....
  15. I agree. The lack of any pressure on the manager means that losing doesn’t matter. Obviously we will slide down, and eventually out of, the division but it doesn’t make any difference to anyone running the club. Any change seems totally reliant on Mowbray doing the decent thing - but why would he? We all laughed when Kean talked about dew on the grass because he was so despised but if Mowbray made the same comment half of our fans would agree with him because his image as a “football statesman”. Mowbray is the second longest serving Championship manager behind Lee Johnson. In my view it’s because of the “little old Blackburn Rovers” ideology that the current regime have installed. Doing nothing to increase footfall while having Venkys foot the bill for losses means this can be peddled as a reason why we are “lucky to be in the Championship thanks to Mowbray”. How many of our fans will soon only ever know us as a midtable second tier side who shouldn’t expect any better? Rovers have ALWAYS been striving for success, now we strive for mediocrity disguised as survival (while having wealthy owners). Worst of all, as soon as the cash does dry up, Waggott and Mowbray will be long gone with fans left to pick up the pieces. I want us to get back to being one of those clubs where “managers live and die by results”. Which is pretty much every other club. Let’s hope our next owners actually give a shit about being successful because when they don’t then eventually nobody will.
  16. It does make you wonder if Mowbray is only here because he is cheap compared to managers like Bielsa. However, if they were as keen to throw money at success as Mowbray once suggested then you would think they would pay top dollar and get a top manager. Jack did. In this division it’s all about the manager. Mowbray’s Championship record at Rovers W36 D30 L35 Overall Championship record W127 D84 L107 And just for fun, his PL record... W8 D8 L22 He’s basically Bowyer but with a better agent.
  17. At this point it’s like a car crash that you can’t take your eyes off. Mowbray now pretending our problems are down to injuries. Looks like we are about to go on one of Mowbray’s infamous runs. The kind that would end the tenure of any other manager at any other club.
  18. I think you missed something that I thought was pretty overt in my post. ??
  19. “Club captain and Scottish international Charlie Mulgrew”??? Hear that scraping sound? And deciding games aren’t important based on the names “Wigan and Barnsley” are probably why we lost both games!
  20. That’s not a bad point actually. However, assuming Mowbray didn’t insist (“your head won’t be right, Darragh”), he still had a decision to make. As captain and lynchpin in defence, and crucially, combined with the fact that Mowbray has proven to be incapable of sorting out our defence, the decision he made ended our season. Let’s all hope this season has been the only casualty.
  21. Reading that, you’ve totally ignored (or not grasped) my reply (or the gravitas of Rovers financial predicament). Do you trust Venkys to carry this club indefinitely? Fans shouldn’t be concerned whether the sole reason that our captain missed a season ending defeat actually ended up being worthwhile? At least we’d be able to say it wasn’t a complete waste at the expense Rovers season. Edit: She has had the baby according to his IG post. They all look very happy - good that all is well.
  22. Can’t believe you still feel the need to respond and can’t grasp the context. Funny thing is people look at the likes of Wigan and worry that it could be us when Venkys finally turn off the taps, yet also seem to think we have loads of time on our side. We need promotion. It’s not about “one game of football”, it’s about the business end of what could have been a promotion season. You just look at things through a simplistic lens. Of course family is important but he needs to provide for that child for the next 18 years, not for one day. Was the baby even born yesterday?
  23. If only there was some way to recruit other, better players...! Impossible to feel sorry for the guy when this situation is of his own making, Tony.
  24. This is double standards. The Barnsley game was important. Instead, our season is now all but over having lost the game. If he would have missed it for a play-off final or even FA Cup then the whole “family is more important than football” argument goes out of the window. It’s symptomatic though of the lack of ‘winners’ Mowbray has assembled. He even drilled this lack of winning mentality into the club ethos by not trying to win the League One title - instead rotating his team, just for the sake of it.
