Central mid should be Reed Travis and Rothwell/Rodwell.

I quite like that team. One thing is for sure. We will never get promotion with Smallwood and Evans in midfield, in fact, at the risk of being too attacking I would also have a new centre half at the back and Rodwell or Rothwell in Evans place in midfield.

I've been trying to get that point over on a different forum for a while. We have absolutely no creativity from that pair so there is no flow going forward. Both can tackle but have no ideas or passing ability when they get the ball. I have been shouted down every time though. Midfielders should get you the odd goal too but how many have come from that pair for Rovers. One I think from Smallwood in two seasons and none from Evans in Christ knows how long.

I would agree with that. Maybe Smallwood or Evans but not together. We need more creativity than both of them together. Rodwell looks class there and if I were the manager that's where I would play him, but I am not so Reed is fine. Ideally I'd play Reed and Rodwell. We are well off in central mid if we pick the right ones.

Neither has anybody else in a match environment. Matches are where points are won and lost and that’s where players are judged not in five a side kick abouts.

Yes Mowbray sees him in training when it doesnt matter. We see him in matches when it does. That’s the difference.

That’s a very sensible post. I can understand paying big money for a good footballer to come into the first team squad and immediately improve the team but when you are struggling to get back to the premier league I do not understand lashing out all your spare cash on a player who may or may not come good in a year or two, especially when you don’t know where, or if ever, he is going to fit into the team. We spent a lot of time, effort and money on this lad and don’t appear to have a clue what to do with him. I just hope that somebody at Rovers knows something about him that the fans don’t. It just appears to me that the money could have been better spent but I sincerely hope that I am soon made to eat my words.
