  1. He did on loan. Seem to remember it being over Christmas in Kenny's first season
  2. The club has recovered but several playing problems remain which he inherited. Large amount of defensive mistakes Players out of position Conceding late goals are just three examples. We have made progress as there is a more positive feel about the club but lets not over hype it. The starting XI is not much different than two years ago and evidence is showing that several of these players are ageing.
  3. I thought he signed on loan and made his debut at Wolves. He was rubbish that day and didn't improve as his loan progressed. Its just as well, because if he had done well we may never had seen Ripley in blue 'n' white.
  4. Please tell me why everyone has gone for Duncan Shearer? Mine is Friedal, Salgado, Berg, Moran, Le Saux, Ripley, Sherwood, Tugay, Duff,Bellamy, A. Shearer.
  5. Even so thats an outlay of £5 million plus wages. For a club who has been penalised for financial problems not peanuts
  6. The squad that got relegated should not of been relegated but due to manager's ineptness that season we did. Although not totally to blame, Mowbray's tactics at times did cost us valuable points that season, PNE at home instantly springs to mind. I know several will argue that if that season started at the point he took over we'd have finished seventh and its a fair point but many of the faults of that squad still remain and as such the coach has failed to solve the problems he inherited. The conceding of late goals, the fact that we don't get out of our defensive third in the last quarter of a game. The inability to defend set pieces correctly. All these still remain as well as the lack of overall match fitness. The squad on the whole hasn't changed a great deal and as such should be aiming higher than just above the relegation. Mid table was a fair target if the basics are done correctly and maybe a push for the playoffs if basics are built on as well as well thought out tactics.
  7. I'm in a minority of people I speak to you but I wanted rid last season after the Oldham away debacle and I still think he is tactically inept. We won promotion despite him and not because of him. If he hadn't of signed Dack, his transfer dealings would be classified poor at best. With Dack, mixed. Off the field I think has done brilliantly to pull the club together and I still think the reason he hasn't had questions asked before now is because of off the field relations
  8. The Scouts from St. Georges, Mill Hill as part of their Community Impact Badge went to the Old Blackburn Cemetery to clean Rovers' Founder, John Lewis' grave.
  9. Oddly I felt being played out benefitted him. It gave him more space. He was hopeless playing as CF as Tyronne says he was easily bullied when faced with big defenders.
  10. We have irons in the fire so we can only hope. Sounds like a quiet day on the Western Front
  11. We can't get promoted from the premiership. We're this season's team with the late run who finishes sixth and goes up. Stay positive...live the dream
  12. You are right, he didn't warm up but I still think that was more Mowbray reacting to the developing situation on the pitch. At the time Evans was stripped ready to come on and Bennett was red carded. Mowbray changed his mind and I dont think Chapman had a choice. To use this as if Chapman has a football brain is a little harsh.
  13. In the 2nd half I agree but I also think from the start, Armstrong should of been more central to test him from off against pace as he has never been the quickest.
  14. You assume wrong I did watch the game. As I say he is technically poor but at the moment we have kept two clean sheets in the league since when. Hopefully this should breath a bit more confidence in him his self belief and his performance will improve. To say that his performane against Millwall was one of the worst ever Rovers performances was entirely wrong. It wouldn't rank in the worst 100.
  15. His pace should be utilised playing inside left or right not wide or as a No.9. His pace will unsettle central defenders when he runs the inside channels or in a sprint over the top. The problem for Mowbray is to accomodate Armstrong, Graham and Dack centrally without losing width.
  16. At times it showed that he hadn't played for half a season. Other times Rovers made him look a world beater.
  17. You cant of been watching Rovers for so long if you think that Bell's performance against Millwall was one of the worst. I'm no way a Bell fan and think he is poor and no improvement on Williams but several of his previous performances have been worse. Two clean sheets in the last two league matches should be praised and Bell has been part of that. Granted against poor opposition but the defence has looked better.
