v Portsmouth (a) - 29/3/2025
Devon Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Similar to @Herbie6590, I'm going to this one with an old mate who is a Pompey fan. In truth, if I didn't have the rare chance to catch up with my friend there, I wouldn't have bought a ticket. But I am now kind of looking forward to a game where there is (slightly) more hope than expectation of any kind of decent result. Opening goal is likely of huge importance. -
Tracking our (outbound) loan players 24/25
Devon Rover replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Just to say that, in amongst so much crap going on at our club, I really appreciate these updates on our loaned out players. You never know which of them we might become dependent on in the next season or two..! Thank you for taking the time. -

If we can send him back now, we absolutely should. He is a useless block to any of our actually contracted young players. The loan signings have, almost entirely, been a disaster. -

This is fucking abysmal. I think that's me switching off from Rovers, at least until the summer, but perhaps longer. The club is a mess - moreso now than ever before. I can't bear seeing it. The last few matches have been worth sacking this useless manager over. We know, of course, no such thing will be on the cards. -

Dennis is a crock. This was known before we signed him. It was a very foolish signing and use of our "significant investment". I'm still shocked, if not surprised, at how our new manager has managed to take us from the play off places to six points below it in just a matter of weeks. His appointment was just as bad as the January transfer policy (and the one before that, etc etc). -

Have we even led a game, yet, under this head coach? So far his appointment has been nothing short of disasterous. -

Lucky that Dennis is looking sharper and more focused, eh? Dreadful signing. -

I cannot see any evidence of what VI and the team have been doing in training. They've been a complete mess. -

Into the last five minutes. One shot on target so far. Clearly the five man defence was a master stroke by our '1st of 150' manager. -

Honestly, on this performance, and last weekend's, I'd not be hugely disappointed to see any of this team, or the manager, leave. I've never felt so disconnected to a Rovers team. Its sad. Thanks very much Venkys, you absolute cunts. -

This whole performance has been utterly embarrassing. These are people paid to play football, right?! -

This has honestly been one of the worst halves of football I've ever seen Rovers play in 33 years. Due to the total lack of skill, shape, competence, etc etc. It's abysmal. Simply has to make changes at half time. -

And to think some people on here said losing Baker didn't matter. We replaced him with Forshaw who is literally out for a jog this evening, watching a game. -

So many of this side should be nowhere near wearing the kit of Blackburn Rovers. One of the more foremost is the goalkeeper. If we had Stoke's we'd be in the playoffs, despite the weaknesses elsewhere. -

Another game, another exhibition of Dolan and Cantwell fannying about and needlessly giving away possession. -

We will have to agree to disagree - at least in part. The overriding issue is, of course, as you say. But I still strongly believe a lack of leadership and general 'bastardry' across the team impacts when the pressure is on. If you don't see any sign of that, that's fine. I feel like I do. We don't have enough battlers and, some might say, too many bottlers. Let's hope there is a lot more fight and energy from kick off tonight as there have been too many performances lacking in those values. -

Well, yes, that too. And that's another of the scandals of our ownership. However, I do think the right kind of players/attitude brought in goes a long way and doesn't always require large amounts of expenditure. We have generally done the opposite of this. -

Bristol City and West Brom have so much more grit and determination about them than our lot, that's why we will finish below them. I don't think either are much better than us, to be honest. It's mindset and the ability to battle, consistently. These are some of the main characteristics that have been sanitised out from this squad since Venkys rode into town. -

Along with what looks like a piece of A4 paper stuck on the away team chairs to designate them as such. I'm surprised we have a working printer. -

Some positive elements but mostly I'm frustrated at us not taking control of the momentum of this game. Forshaw should be nowhere near the starting 11. Bring ST on at half time
