  1. I'll take that but I want more!!
  2. We must be honest though and admit this was a terrible game--apart from the result. It really looked like 2 mid-table sides slogging it out. We out-muscled them and out-chased them and deserved the win, that's it.
  3. Perhaps they need a week in Marbella between games!
  4. Thought Ahmed was great. Had another one turned down on appeal as well. Astonishing for an 18 year old. Leg spin is the hardest cricketing skill to master I'd think and they peak into their 30's. Spun it much more than Leach. That he can be so good at 18 gives us years or promise to look forward to.
  5. I'm astonished! Never saw that coming.6 changes seems to indicate last weeks selections were wrong but he's obviously learned something. My daughter"s partner is a mad-keen Norwich fan (I've bought him 2 books on then for Christmas) and best of all---they're coming round for tea tomorrow night! I have the replay ready for him!
  6. Quite agree, just pointing out that he wasn't just a loan. We apparently even agreed the fee of £5M. Gallacher all over again except at least we have an opt-out.
  7. with an option to buy?
  8. Let's hope it isn't a tin one Den! I worry that Australia won't. Maybe India won't either.
  9. Have zero confidence going into this game. I'm expecting to get thrashed and to slide down the table. Any other result I'll take.
  10. I can't remember when Archer last played! I was going to refer to him but I couldn't remember his name! So much hope there at one time.
  11. This is what I worry about. If we try that same approach on the MCG or the Gabba we will get pasted again. We simply don't have the firepower. Seamers are great on some pitches---particularly English ones. But we need pace in Australia and we don't have it. Additionally, time after time our top order capitulates to their pace. If Australia need 275 to win does anyone doubt they will get them?
  12. Agree with this but I thought losing the last 5 wickets for 19 in cavalier fashion was a bit over the top. We had loads of time so there was no reason not to put the game out of sight with another 50 or so. Pakistan would have had to defend which was impossible on that pitch. I'm quibbling I know, but there were times on that last day when we looked like losing which would have been farcical.
  13. We know where you stand, its where you always stand. Everything the club does is OK. Crisis? What crisis?
  14. Suppose there's a cabal of eleven?
  15. No---they have a bigger crisis on their hands.
  16. Well I don't expect him to be sacked any time soon and I hope he can somehow turn it round. However I don't feel that there is any recognition of the size of the task to come. It looks to me that he's putting it on the players for not doing what he's asked them to do. He should be questioning himself and asking whether his selections and tactics, for example, are good enough. I don't see any acceptance of his role in this so far.
  17. 7 goals conceded? Never in it? Don't forget we were up there too. Not as if we were mid-table. Can't gloss over this one, for one reason or another we are looking at a crisis.
  18. But we have a more talented squad than the last 2 performances have shown. We've given 7 goals away in those 2 games and scored one. I accept Rome wasn't built in a day and all that but if he picked the best eleven, played them in the right places, didn't change the side every week so that confidence could grow, surely we'd do far better than this? Which players are improved since he came? Not John Buckley who was a regular. Neither Wharton in for the Burnley game---how crazy is that? This project is starting to go very wrong, we can't blame Mowbray for this collapse. Its been alleged that JDT has lost the dressing room, I wouldn't know but they are playing like it.
  19. The slide out of the 6 begins a few weeks early.
  20. We've had a lot of discussion from time to time about a European recruitment official, how about one for each of Africa and Asia, given results and performances in this World Cup? Could pay big dividends?
  21. And long may it continue!
  22. We take too long over throw-ins. Everybody's marked.
  23. That was one of the most deeply satisfying England wins ever! The only way it could have beeb bettered is if it had been against Australia! Well done Stokes---absolute champion.
  24. We have usually started slowly. Its a definite plan. For much of the first half we suck the life out of teams, then pounce when the game opens up. Its working! Haven't lost a game, have scored 3 goals twice, are not conceding and finished a clear top of our group. We were never favourites to win and we're a bit unlucky to face the World Champions next up, but we have done well so far. Like everyone else I fear Maguire might get a pasting from Mbappe but presumably Southgate has something in mind to counter that. It won't be pretty! So I'm realistic and prepared to not win the tournament but a little bit of me thinks we might!.
