  1. Good hard-hitting article from the Football League Paper on Rovers and Venkys. Maybe someone with more brains than me can post it.
  2. What's been achieved has been achieved despite the owners so "yes".
  3. Quite right---the players are getting on with it and we should too. No more point going over old ground. Looking forward I'm worried the club will sign someone who tinkers (like Mowbray). Let's hope whoever's appointed doesn't overthink it. Spirit of the players is key for us. Interestingly the players don't seem affected by a) no contracts being extended or so many loan players who'll leave. But I am! 🥶
  4. Put a sock in it! Seems like you're on a mission.
  5. I think we can guess! It'll be easier to list whose staying after this season than who's going. And no money for transfers. What manager worth his salt would choose this job?
  6. Preston v Burnley? Hard when you want both sides to lose! I think I would prefer a Preston victory. Its looking more and more likely that Burnley will finish 3rd and will play the club that finishes 6th in the Play-Offs. That might just be us! Imagine that!
  7. Yes true, well-remembered!
  8. They have a personal relationship with the manager, it'll be for one season only and they'll get a pay rise. Not impossible is it? They'll be going anyway.
  9. We will be truly in the shit next season unless (unlikely) we get promoted The immediate future is looking very dark indeed. We are sleep-walking towards disaster. This should be addressed as a matter of urgency by WATR and the Forum and anyone else who gets the chance. What exactly are the plans for recruitment at the end of the season when we lose much of the squad? Is there one? Has anybody asked?
  10. And guess who will we coming in for them?!!
  11. Been on a 2 day bender at Vardy's house apparently!!
  12. I think we could fill a page or two on what they didn't know! And still don't.
  13. Our model seems to have 2 parts to it----let our signed players contracts run down and go for free, and fill up with loanees. What could go wrong?
  14. I remember "Madame" promising to take us into Europe regularly with a £5M subsidy per year! She explained that there was no need to buy players for big fees---"you can just borrow them"!!
  15. I'd think he knew when he took the job that Derby would be difficult to save from relegation, which shows how low he ranked our club as a place of employment. His job will be to take Derby straight back up and take it from there. At least he's at a club where the manager and admin will work together, not one where the efforts of the players and coach are under-appreciated and sabotaged as a matter of routine.
  16. We all thought "what the hell have we done?" when we first signed him! All of us saw something in him but doubted it would ever be enough. We all took to him because of his enthusiasm and his physicality which we hadn't seen at Ewood for years. We wanted him to do well but feared he wouldn't. Cries of "worst player I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt" were quite common. So no-one should feel ashamed about that, he was like a fish out of water. But, for once, the Gods have shined on us and we have a real centre-forward leading the line (and, bonus-- assisting the defence). We've either struck lucky or coached brilliantly---who cares? Let's enjoy him while we can.
  17. Really excellent stuff from you. Said everything I'd have wanted you to say. Very professional.
  18. That's a bit thin for me. Gerrard's a big name and that's all he. I wouldn't go anywhere near him.
  19. Venkys rubbing their hands together in glee!
  20. Good! He was talking abut going to the game a week or 2 back!
  21. A special thanks goes to Jim! (I'm assuming you didn't go!)
  22. Plymouth's result tonight! 🥶
