Every year we get weaker Chaddy. We never build by keeping the best and replacing the weakest. We do the opposite in fact. Its a miracle we got so close to the Playoffs but if we'd done what I'm suggesting we'd have walked it. There is no plan, its a season to season operation depending on what money is available. Now money is very scarce and we are gambling. We can't go on like this much longer.

You are always free to leave. Not negativity but painful realism. Sinking lower every year, why should you expect optimism?

Then whole point of a Transfer Window is to strengthen your squad. When did we last do that?

Why do we invariably win the toss and bowl? Since the Indians would (rightly) have chosen to bat both times the toss is a farce!

Ww will all judge him on the pitch when he plays. But it'll be a bit late then if he's rubbish or very ordinary. I'd prefer to keep both Kronstadt and Travis thanks. I've seen them on the pitch and I 'm very happy with them. They are clearly good quality Championship players with nothing to prove. Hard to think we could afford anyone better or even as good. But you seem to prefer risk-taking and to trust the people who make these decisions. I don't.

You think season ticket sales are so low because people on here urge others not to buy one? I rather think the performance of the Club (in the widest sense) accounts for low sales, whatever is said on here.

and they pay more tax than the e average. At the top level a couple of seasons sets a player up for life. Not so when you go down the Divisions. Particularly at a club which has a ceiling for wages go £10,000 a week. Anyway, whatever any of us think, players will follow the money so we either compete or give up.

What's wrong with that? Everything else seems too work on the basis of the free market---supply and demand. A footballer's life is a short one, why shouldn't he get the best deal he can? Not as if there's any reward for loyalty at Rovers these days is it?

I have very happy memories of watching East Lancs in the fifties with my Dad. as you say, big crowds. First pro I remember was the Aussie leg-spinner Bruce Dooland. he was a class act and only available because he couldn't get in the Australian team with Ritchie Benaud around. Re the collection, for some spectators it was against their principles to chuck in for the pro on the basis that he was paid to play! Must have seen the entire 1960's West Indies team in the Lancs League. Great days, all gone now of course.
