  1. Perhaps they're being paid by results?
  2. Those LT "fans" who ask "what better can we expect with gates of our size?" should have a look at what the likes of Bournemouth are achieving with the stadium full at 11000!
  3. That really is the ultimate in fatuous arguments. Its cart before the horse! The only way to absolutely know whether there are buyers out there is to put the Club up for sale and await the response! There seems to be no end of billionaires willing to chuck money at English football--why would we be less attractive than Wrexham for example? I'm sure that the challenge of saving one of the World's oldest football clubs would attract somebody, not to mention any individual or group who has affection for the Club. The problems dealing with Venkys would be the only potential barrier to a sale. It would be prolonged and messy because Venkys don't give a shit.
  4. People were laughing at Eustace when he left for Derby and started with consecutive defeats. Now won 3 in a row! By contrast we have the worst points record over the last 6 games----4----which we share with Oxford. All for a measly £500,000 in compo. A manger is not unimportant, you can't just replace one with another and assume the same outcomes. Eustace was the perfect fit for us and once again Venkys have let it all slip between their fingers. We have no hope.
  5. Possibly true but we both know our fans won't go that far. I'm trying to be realistic.
  6. I've always said the best way to make our point would be for NO-ONE to turn up. The way we are going we'll achieve this by natural progression at some point! But in the meantime could WATR (or anyone else) organise a smaller boycott so that fans stay outside the stadium for the first ten minutes of the game? Then all pour in chanting Venkys Out? TV cameras would capture an almost empty and silent stadium (I know!) and then hostile fans entering en masse(relatively!) Worth a try?
  7. Yeah, I remember people saying the easy games were coming up!
  8. Until there is no club left to back?
  9. Wear a T-shirt with anti-Venkys slogans on it? Are they going to tear it off?
  10. I can understand that banner would be insistently removed at Ewood but why would the Stoke authorities bother? What's happened to freedom of speech?
  11. Well that's hopes for a Play-Off berth gone yet again. Whatever anyone says about him, just as well we had Eustace for a major part of the season. Otherwise?
  12. Would they wreck us for spite do you think? I wouldn't discount anything with that lot. It will come to a crunch at some point though, you're right there, they can't kick the can down the road forever
  13. Which we won't imo. The impetus is now with other clubs like Bristol City and Coventry for the final play-off positions. We'll finish out of it . 7 points out of the last 18.
  14. They've been watching him! The sneaky bastards! I guess that's the last we'll hear of that then.
  15. I'm often saying we will never get promoted with Venkys, I also think we'll never be promoted with Pears. Has never commanded his area, its chaos almost every time the opposition launch the ball up there. Obvious problem but, like the others, never addressed. Yet another 8th, 9th 10th-type petering-out finish probably---could be worse. But since the "ambition" at the start of the season was to "stay in this division" I suppose its job done for our owners and admin. By the way, Eustace's time-wasting and shit-housery is exactly what he did at Elland Rd end of last season and we raved about it! The fact is we've lost the manager we needed and got a replacement whose very likely not as good. The dumbing-down, continues---at every level.
  16. Do you really think they will?
  17. If a valued employee wants to leave, what do sensible admin staff do, assuming they want to keep him(or her)? They sit down with him, talk it through and see what could keep him. Did they do that or just tell him he had a contract? If its money---does he deserve a rise? Some would say he did---saved us from relegation on the last day. started the season everybody's favourite to do down but, instead, played some great football and in the top 6 for months. Moreover generated a great bond with the players and between them. So, yeah, I think he deserved an offer but did he get one or did they simply lick their lips at the £500,000 compensation? Was he promised more in the transfer market than he got? Was he as involved in transfer targets as he should have been? Or, in short was he shafted?
  18. No doubt at all that other factors lpayed a role then? Big call that. You're obviously much closer to events than I am.
  19. Every time I see Hurst play I think "how the hell was he so bad for us?" He seems to score almost every time I see him play!
  20. With Sammy's £11m to appear in the next years financial statement and some of our best players to leave for nothing in the summer (bringing the wage bill down further) we could make only a relatively small loss next year but what then? Who could be sold to make up the £17m gap? And what division will we be in? It is impossible to go on like this for much longer.
  21. Looking really grim eh? They'll continue to fund us but at what level? 1st Division would be my guess. And what's all this about "even in the event that the bank facility is not renewed"? Since they are reputedly billionaires why are they bothered abut what banks will do or not do? Bunch of charlatans.
  22. I can remember Matt Woods being sent off for nothing. At Ewood, but can't think who the opposition were.
