Bolton Wanderers Unpaid Staff Need Food bank.

Encouraging for us that Bolton have been saved at the last minute. People have always speculated that we are totally dependent on Venkys for survival and have assumed that once they pulled out we would be finished. No-one could take us on with debts of our size. Bolton's survival should give us heart in that respect. -
Long gone now of course but I wonder what would have happened had Jack Walker gone ahead with plans to build a new stadium in the Salmsbury area just off the M6? I was opposed to it at the time but we were flying in the Premiership and we would presumably have attracted new fans from the west/central Lancashire area. Might have been better off in the long-run? Just a thought.

We have plenty of possession but we create very little with it. That's been the case since Day 1 of this season. -
I would be very happy with that outcome, but if they truly want that why is it taking so long? Why don't they splash the cash? Wolves didn't mess about did they? I suspect they have no idea what to do and are not particularly interested anyway.

The answer for English football is the German model, community-owned, low ticket prices, big crowds and international success. But it will never happen in ultra-capitalist Britain. Sadly. -
Not worked out then has it in that case? A wage for nothing.
-
No, they owe themselves £120M quid and they are never going to get that back from Rovers whatever they do. The worry is that they will just stop funding more and more debt and the club will go out of business which would be pointless because they could sell, and get at least some of it back. Any new owner would owe them nothing. Who could read their minds though?

Gut-wrenching for Bury fans. First of many more over the next few years, I fear, as the Leagues increasingly reflect the prosperity of the south and south-east over the north-----where modern football was born. -
Or wingers! No wonder we can't score!

Dentistry has come on since then eh?!! -
Silly me, thinking that if you liked a post you agreed with its content!

I'll ignore the "comprehending" insult. I'm not sure that there has been a "clamour" for Chapman to be chosen.I think you're exaggerating there. There has been some bewilderment though that he was signed so many months ago and he's never featured since. The circular argument that you haven't seen him on the pitch for a year or more and therefore you can't judge him begs the real question. Why haven't we seen him in so long? Is he seriously injured? Was he seriously injured when we signed him? Surely you remember him from first time round. He was terrific, skilled, pacy and exciting. We were all delighted when he signed ( I'm confident in saying that) so what's happened?

I've always assumed they were hanging on till we got back into the Premiership and they could recoup their losses. Once they realise they are unlikely to ever achieve this, their reaction may well be to cut their losses. -
I thought I just did "pal". Many knowledgeable fans on this site. Perhaps you've had thoughts of your own from time to time? Doesn't mean I'm chasing his job though!

I remember at that time, they were linked with just about every player in the League and made signing after signing. Big fees too! I thought at the time that "this madness will end in tears"! Never really recovered have they? Kept their fans though I suppose. -
Sounds awfully to me like you've written him off! Just like the manager who signed him!
-
I'm not making anything up. You liked a post that dismissed Chapman as a player, but when I asked "why TM signed him" you said he has "potential"! My point is, what sort of manager signs players he seemingly has no intention of playing? Chapman is is one, Brereton is another.
-
So true.
-
If Rovers folded, I would cease to be interested in football and would follow no-one. I simply could not support another team. I imagine Bolton fans would feel the same. This might well change with new generations over time but Boltoners would be much more likely to gravitate to Manchester. In fact, I'm certain of it.
-
But above you "like" the post that basically says he's hopeless and to my post he's'a young lad with potential". See below!! I've asked this question more than once and never got an answer----"Why did Mowbray sign him?" You've written the player off so what's that say about the manager?

The announcements are absolutely deafening. Ridiculously so.
-
I think Mowbray is in the same position as you but at least you're not paid to do it! He's collected the players he wanted and trying desperately trying to find a system that suits them. it should be the other way round.
-
That is garbage. Both those managers went back to basics when they started with us but both knew what they were doing and built from there. In any case, they were at the start of their tenure with us, picking up the shambles their predecessors had left them., Mowbray is almost 3 years in and has got us little nearer to where we should be.
-
I agree, you've made a sound criticism of the set-up there.
