  1. You just have to take these chances when they come I'm afraid. No point being in it if you fear success. In any case, the team that took the field in August wouldn't be the same one that went up. Oh, hang on a minute, I see your point, it probably would be in our case!
  2. Presumably he might still do the away games. He could certainly film getting on the coach stuff, himself doing a half-time summary, interviews with fans on the way back to the coach and so on. Only the actual play would be missing! Come to think of it, he often missed the goals anyway!
  3. That is absolutely pathetic. The lad is a Rovers fan informing other fans and he was doing a good job. A nuisance but essential is how I feel Rovers regard fans. Apart from a few years in Jack's time its usually been this way.
  4. Maybe Venkys are fed up with where their last 7M ended up?......It's possible.
  5. That's as good a summation as any I've read. In total agreement.
  6. Social media is the new Cowards' Castle. Anyone who posts on it is opening themselves up to gratuitous abuse from cretins hiding in the ether. Get rid of it, you lived OK before it was invented.
  7. We shouldn't look at the ticket surcharge in isolation. Its really about the overall failure to apply initiatives to attract new supporters, lure old fans back and make occasionals regulars. The standard of football is the main key of course but, outside that, there are many things the club could do which in the longer term would bring bigger crowds and thus more revenue. There have been many really good suggestions on here but they don't seem to have caught the ear of those who make the decisions. It would also help propel us into the Premier League whereupon all revenue problems are resolved. This sort of thinking is absent and its symbolised by the ticket surcharge which actually penalises any fans who decide to go at the last minute.
  8. I'm guessing they knew he'd be out!
  9. We have Reed on loan! He has proved over many games what an asset he would be. So, presumably, we will be in for him perhaps in summer and we'd all be delighted if he signs. If we'd carried out that same process with Brereton, I doubt we would have signed him. Its no good running the "in hindsight" line, many on here voiced their doubts from the start.
  10. How many points would you concede before you abandoned that particular gamble? Nuttall is playing way better, why should he lose his place to Brereton? Doesn't make sense. He'll have to go to the under-23's, score a shedload of goals and earn a recall before he's given any game time at all for me.
  11. Agree with this. Has pulled out of a downward spiral to nothingness but recruitment in summer was disappointing. So many gaps unfilled. He seemed to sign a team of mid-fielders, then he turns round and says Travis' emergence (very recent and down to Smallwood's injury) has saved us millions! Sounds like a severe criticism of his own dealings to me.
  12. How far have we sunk! Todd, the Axe, little Dicko, etc ?
  13. Today could be an historic day for our country. (There's a lot going on in parliament as well!)
  14. Alternative headline---"Mowbray cottons on at last"
  15. It makes you wonder what was the point of Brereton at all.
  16. The 2 teams who have conceded most goals in the last 15 minutes are Rovers and Millwall-------18 apiece! We actually levelled it in this game!
  17. You know I don't think that way but in this instance he may be not at fault. He would be if he played him.
  18. That's exactly what I think! A gamble. Shows we are still owned by buffoons however much we trust TM.
  19. This is the sort of club I'd like us to be ( like Newall's Old Boys ) !
  20. We reportedly turned down that sort of money for him when West Brom were chasing him so why would we accept less now?
  21. But Brereton has all the experience! Every time I questioned the wisdom of buying an inexperienced youth for the astonishing price of 7M I was told he wasn't inexperienced at all and had played 47 games for Forest! In reality we had a more effective player all the time for free. Still the most bewildering transfer you could think of.
  22. I believe we've won 6 of the last nine games there! You've been unlucky. We're their bogey club!
